Summer 13th, 512AV
Cou sat at his desk, adding the finishing touches to three Servant dolls she was making. He had spent three days carving out their bodies and making them moveable. The majority of creation process was focused on the various joins on the dolls. He had to create ball joints from wood and add them on to the arms, legs and other parts to make them moveable. Each doll has moveable eyes with a cheap blue gem that allows them to see and a leather membrane in their ears to allow them to hear. Cou’s current experience with this was somewhat poor, so it took him various attempts to get it just right. Besides the creation of the dolls’ bodies, their clothes took a while to make as well. Cou had to measure, cut and sewed each clothing by hand, and just like the bodies it took a few attempts to get it right. After he made the clothing, he carved each dolls unique signet on their bodies, making sure that it was done perfectly. With the dolls’ bodies complete, Cou dressed them up and prepared the magical process.
Cou sat the three dolls on the table top and walked over to one of his tool kits and grabbed a stick of chalk. He then walked to the centre of the room and looked around himself to see if the area was an appropriate place to draw the animation circles. He gave himself a nod and began drawing a large circle around himself, then he step out of the circle and drew another circle, smaller than the previous one, connecting them together with one straight line. After he had finished drawing the animation circles on the ground, he walked over to the table and grabbed one of the servant dolls he had just completed. He then placed the doll in the larger circle stepped back into the smaller one. Cou thought about the animation process, prepping ahead to make sure he knows what to do later. Cou pulled out a knife from his jacket and raised his left index finger. He then rested the sharp blade against his finger and braced himself. With one sweep of the blade, the water of life flowed out of the wound and onto the circle. The animation circle gave off a faint glow. Cou knew that it was time to create the soulcore of his doll.
Cou focused on the dolls soulcore, creating its existence. In over for Cou to make the doll’s soulcore, he had to imagine his soul was being copied. He imagined staring into a clear mirror, watching his own refection moving on its own. Soon after, he imagined his reflection breaking out of the mirror into the real world. Cou focused on that imagery for able a chime, soon after he felt the doll’s presences. Cou smile at his success, but the job isn’t over. He needed to construct it’s persona in order for it to function properly. Cou resumed his focus, this time on the doll’s persona. He needed to give the doll concept which it must understand and directive with it must follow. He understood that this process takes a bit of time. To make this processed easier for him, he imagined a large ball of light blue energy that absorbed each concept Cou feed it.
The first concept he needed to give to the doll is the concept of violence. Cou wanted the doll to be gentle and non-violent, but in order for the doll to understand what not being violent is, it must understand what is violence is. Cou imagined every violent scenario he could think of, from fisty cups to torture. After giving the doll the concept of being violent, Cou gave the doll the directive not to be violent. He focused on that directive for a few chimes, making sure that the directive is embedded into the dolls persona.
Cou then began working on the second from his doll, loyalty. This was a fairly simple one for Cou he knew that the doll had to obey him and Node dolls. However, he added the concept of following other’s command so long as it has his direct command. He gave this concept a moment to sink in the persona. Cou also added a shutdown method for the doll. As well as a few concepts to make sure that they can keep itself safe from danger. After he had added those concepts he began working on its prime directive, assisting. Cou pulled memories from his childhood when he had to preform cleaning chores. Cou transmitted the concept of cleaning into the doll, as well as sorting. With that concept in the dolls mind, Cou needed to add one more thing before he moved on. That thing was teamwork, so it can help other dolls to achieve a common goal.
The last think Cou needed to give the doll a bit of emotion. He gave the doll a few basic emotions, but emphasised greatly on happiness and joy. He didn’t what his dolls and the people around them to feel uncomfortable and miserable. After he embedded those emotions into the doll’s persona, Cou focused on transferring the persona to the doll. After he had finished that process, one more step remained. This step was fairly simple as it involved creating the astral body for the doll. However, is will take a bit of time for the doll to understand how to move its limbs properly. Like the process of making the Doll’s Soulcore, Cou imagined standing in front of a mirror. However, this mirror only reflected a ghostly body that pulls it’s itself out of the mirror and is absorbed the doll. This process took about ten chimes to do, but the doll wasn’t moving.
Cou Stood up and pulled up a chair near the doll, making sure he isn’t touching it. Just like real life being made, it will reveal itself with its ready. Cou patiently sat on his chair for about nine to ten chimes when suddenly the doll’s leg twitched. Cou stood up and clenched his fist, hoping that the doll was okay. The doll began twitching some more and its head slowly rose. Cou could see its eyes scanning around the room, as if it was aware. The doll attempted to move, but fell over like a baby trying to take its first step. Cou would not touch the doll until it was able to stand on its own two feet, because if it did stand then that would be proof that Cou’s animation was a success. The basic joints it had were restricting a bit of its movement, but it was enough for it to function. The doll attempted to stand again, but fell over once more. Cou just stared at the doll as it tries to follow its movement directive. After a few attempt the Doll stood up and Cou was ecstatic. The doll turned its head towards Cou and titled its head slightly at him.
“Thank you master for creating me, How can I serve you?” The Servant Doll said, awaiting its first order. “Please go over there and get use to your body” Cou said, pointing at an empty area in the room. “Yes master, I will get use to my new body.”
The doll wandered over to the small area and began moving about in an odd fashion, learning what limits its body had. As the doll was doing that, Cou began the animation process for the other dolls. This took him about 4 bells to complete. In the end of the day, he had three little dolls running about his house, helping Cou tiding up. |
