The Preparation

Spring 89, 512AV - Night

Ariann had gone through many experiences within the city of Zeltiva, but the urge to leave the city had grown far too strong. Her internal instincts burned within her, telling her that staying within the city any longer would be suicidal. Ariann had only been on land for around sixty or so days and already the harsh air was taking its toll. Ariann found her gills along her neck beginning to hurt, the skin on her arms was beginning to show signs of drying out and her eyes had begun to loose the emerald luster that they always held. She looked like a ghost of her former self and the only thing she could blame it on was nature. Charoda weren't meant to adapt to life above the waters and the mere fact that Ariann thought she could have tried told her that it was time to go.

Ariann sat upon the pier, a saddened look on her face as she splashed the water around her feet. She wore a sailor's shirt that she had been given by a doctor-figure she had met recently, her body pretty much covered by the shirt much like a dress would cover the figure of a normal human female. It was night time and Ariann looked down at the dark waters below, which was a mellow blue, interrupted only by Ariann's feet as she swished them around, her turquois skin bright against the darker backdrop of the sea as it lulled against the port. "I should head to Syliras. I've been told that it is the capitol of the world." She said to herself sadly, as if she regretted knowing the fact, "And from there, I might go to Riverfall. I hear the water there is nice and clear."

She leaned back and looked toward the moon, which was a mere sliver of it's former self. The moonlight bathed the docks with a sullen appearence, making Ariann feel even more alone. The docks were quiet, only a few passerby that came and went. Ariann was the only one who stayed at the docks for longer than a moment, besides a group of four drunken sailors outside of a nearby pub. Ariann sighed, waiting for something to tell her it was time to go for good.

Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to play Ariann until my life stabilizes. Sorry in advance to whoever ends up loosing out on threads because of this :\

I am now an official Grader of Mizahar! Happy squeals for all! ^_^ I will be focusing primarily on Zeltiva, but if another region needs cleaning up, let me know! I have a TON of free-time and I always enjoy reading other's threads!

The Preparation

Postby Opette on May 29th, 2013, 1:30 pm

Nighttime in Zeltiva was cool and quiet and while Opette despised the fact that the sun was absent, it made for easy swimming without fear of being watched by passer-bys who have never seen an Akvatari before. While Opette made it a point to tolerate all other races with a generally indifferent disposition others did not so easily do the same for her. This was probably the only peace and quiet she'd get for a while, if she decided to stay in Zeltiva for long. Decisions for Opette were always made on a whim, it mattered not if it was the best choice or what the pros and cons to it might be. If she felt like doing something one way she'd do it, if she felt like doing something a completely different way then she'd do it. Over thinking things never got anything done, it was best just to go with the flow.

She was swimming idly beneath the docks, blue furred tail propelling her forward as she weaved expertly between the logs that held the docks in place. Her wings served no other purpose in the water other than the occasional flapping of them to add additional speed and thrust. The water felt nice and cool against her tail and skin. Generally Opette preferred air to water, but like all Akvatari had a natural instinct for both and it would not be right of her to only follow through with one half of her nature. Akvatari were after all Children of the Sea and Sky. She could not simply be Opette, Child of the Sky and call herself Akvatari.

A sudden disturbance of the water above her caused Opette to stop mid-swim. She looked up through the murky waters to see a Charoda sitting on the edge of the docks, kicking the water idly. Odd, Opette usually expected Charoda to be in the water with her. Who was this Charoda, who would not go in the water even if just for a swim? The Charoda was chafing at the skin, the lack of water evident. Opette frowned and then without warning, her head broke through the surface of the water, the tips of her orange wings just barely poking up out of the water as well.

“You must be a strange Charoda if you will not swim. You must swim with me yes? I am called Opette.” One thing that anyone would quickly learn about Opette was that the concept of personal space was foreign to her, so as she began to reach up and tug lightly on the leg of the Charoda she had no thought as to whether or not this invaded her space.

The Preparation

Postby Ariann on May 30th, 2013, 8:26 pm

Ariann was far too occupied chopping up the water with her feet to realize that there was a strange creature in the water. Only when it popped up in front of her did she let out her startled squeak. She looked down at the creature with the tail of a seal and the wings of a butterfly, tilting her head to the side. "My mother calls me Aria-" She let out a slight squeak as the creature touched her leg. She pulled her limb back away from the water. "Ariann..." She finished blinking slightly with her large, bulbous eyes. She leaned forward to look closer at the limbs that weren't human. "What creature are you?" She asked, frowning.
