An unexpected surprise [Alodian Aviastas ]

Postby Evelia on July 6th, 2010, 4:10 pm

65th of Spring

Evelia made her way to her favourite spot of Skyinarta .
She walked quickly through the untamed land pushing her hair back, feeling the heat on the back of her neck. Thankfully she was wearing a Vinati, a typical Inarta women’s wear which resembled a short halter top that kept the heat away.

She smiled as she thought about the beauty of the Twin Lakes, and of the The Katshika Falls that originated from the lakes, she quickened her pace.
It was not a long way away, from the Inarta’s residence so it didn’t take much time to arrive to the Twin Lakes.

A morning of luck in hunting had given her a moment to breath, she surveyed the twin lakes and stood there for a while, enjoying the slight breeze that had started to blow, she smiled and put her hands into the water. Then she sat down beside the water and stayed there smiling as an outsider would see it at her reflection, but she was smiling at the water.
She found pleasure and some joy in not ordinary things and objects that some people didn’t even acknowledged, her smile widened even more.

An unexpected surprise [Alodian Aviastas ]

Postby Alodian Aviastas on July 6th, 2010, 5:11 pm

There was a slight breeze that played with Alodian's hair that morning. It was his second day in Wind Reach, and he already loved it more than his homeland Avanthal. There were such vibrant colors that accented his features. He had just had a bite to eat and had decided to go for a bit of a walk. He found himself walking wherever his feet took him, mostly because he had no idea where he was going.

From his surroundings he gathered that this was a place of serenity, a place where he could relax. He came upon a spot where there were these lakes, the water calm and serene. He spotted a girl standing there, smiling at her reflection. How odd, he thought, curious as to why she was smiling at herself. He hesitated, wondering if it was a good idea to talk to her or not. He was an outsider, not a fellow Inarta, but a Vantha. There's no time like the present, he thought to himself, as he made his way over to the girl. The sun was beating down on him, making his sleek black hair shine with emerald highlights that mtached his eyes. "Ello there," he said, hoping he didn't startle the poor girl.

An unexpected surprise [Alodian Aviastas ]

Postby Evelia on July 6th, 2010, 5:30 pm

Evelia watched the ripples mangle her face, her red lips became a distorted wound in the water. She was still immersed in her own very strange world, a voice behind her made her flinch and jump up like a cat.
She turned slowly her eyes quickly measuring the young man in front of her. She was so proficient in unarmed combat she didn’t even grope for a weapon, she just stood there.

She noticed immediately that he wasn’t an Inarta, she felt slightly disconcerted about this. With her people she was on familiar ground but with strangers? His black hair and eyes gave him away, maybe he was a drudge that had been born without the trademark red hair of her people. But no drudge would be here and speak to her in that manner.

She decided to return his greeting, her clear voice unwavering “Hello to you!” She cocked her head her dark blue eyes twinkling and continued
“I haven’t seen you before… and forgive my rudeness: I’m Evelia”

An unexpected surprise [Alodian Aviastas ]

Postby Alodian Aviastas on July 6th, 2010, 5:41 pm

Alodian stepped back when the girl jumped, not sure if she would attack him. When she didn't, he was relieved, as well as grateful. He saw her study him, and he guessed that was her nature. She had fiery red hair, a kind he had never seen before. He suspected that most of the Inarta people looked like this. When the girl introduced herself as Evelia, Alodian smiled. "I didn't mean to startle you, Evelia. My name is Alodian," he said, as he gave her a nod. "No, I don't suppose you have. I'm from Avanthal," he finished, sitting down on the grass. He had cut his shirt sleeves off when he got here, since it was so hot. Not having sleeves, it revealed his healing gnosis mark.

"What are you doing out here?" Alodian asked, genuinely curious. He really didn't know much about the Inarta people, just the quick synopsis he got from a fellow Vantha. He studied the girl, noticing her blue eyes, making his grin a little wider.

She hesitated she glanced at the gnosis mark then sat down calmly, whoever he was his story had to be worth listening to, a smile played on her red lips as she brushed aside a strand of hair.
Her grasp in geography wasn’t extensive but she knew that Avanthal was the northernmost city of the Taldera region. She racked her brains for more information but couldn’t find any.

She answered “This is one of my favourite spots, I come here in my rare spare time. And what are you doing here? And what brings you to the Wind Reach in particular, Alodian?”
She peered at him unabashed, few travellers made their way to the mountain, and there were few things more interesting than strangers come from other lands.

Then she opened her mouth hesitated and than asked to sadisfy her curiosity “What’s Avanthal like?” As always she was fascinated with faraway cities and lands, she looked around and told herself that one day she would leave and see them for herself.

An unexpected surprise [Alodian Aviastas ]

Postby Alodian Aviastas on July 7th, 2010, 3:32 pm

As the girl sat down, Alodian listened to her questions. "Well mostly I moved away from my homeland to see other places, as well as to further my healing," he informed her, as he glanced at the water. "Well Avanthal is beautiful. It's always snowy, one of the best features about my homeland. But I do say there are much more color here," he said as he looked around. "Is it always this nice here? Do you often get visitors here that are like me?" Alodian asked, as he cocked his head to the side.

Glancing at the water again, a breeze curled around him, ruffling his emerald highlights. His emeralds sparkled, showing that he was indeed enjoying himself. As he looked back at Evelia, he noticed her features, and how much they differed from his.

An unexpected surprise [Alodian Aviastas ]

She glanced at the gnosis and came to the conclusion that it was a healing gnosis after what he had just said. She looked at him and noted his strange, not Inarta features especially his hair she gazed at that feature with particular intensity.

She answered “It’s a volcanic mountain so yes its always pretty hot, at least in summer and spring then comes the snow…” she paused and continued “and no we don’t get to many visitors sometimes we get completely cut of from the out side world because of the snow, and not like you anyway”

She gestured to the lakes “Isn’t it beautiful? I come here to shake the loneliness away and this time it worked unexpectedly” She chuckled and smiled at him.

She stretched out and touched the water ripples spread out, she watched them for a second then turned back to him and said “Which race is commoner in Avanthal?” She paused and frowned a memory tugging at her mind, the city Avanthal sounded much like the name of a race she opened her mouth and blurted “Vantha isn’t it?”

Alodian nodded, understanding what she said. "Yes, the lake is very beautiful," he said, as a smile played at his lips. "Yes, the Vantha race is common at my homeland. We do not get visitors often, it is cold," he said as he studied the girl, noticing that she seemed to be struggling with something. "Is everything fine?" he asked in broken Common, as he watched the girls face.

The day really was perfect. It was great for him to experience something other that snow and ice. One of his hands played with the grass, the softness melting any worries he had.

She smiled and answered “Everything is fine, I was just struggling to remember which race lived in Avanthal…”

She put a finger in the water again asking “So how do you find the Wind Reach? And are we so different from your race?”

She smiled as she though how different they were, he with his set jaw and dark strange hair and her with a fairly angular face, red hair and dark blue eyes. It felt good to be with someone different though.

She remembered his gnosis and also asked gesturing to his arm “Were you born with it?” Like most Inarta she was quite outspoken asking whatever came to mind, she had to halt herself somewhat for fear of appearing rude to Alodian who wasn’t a fellow Inarta.

Alodian smiled as he nodded at her questions. "Well I do like it here. Warm weather, varietyof colors. It beautiful," he said, smiling at the nature surrounding them. When she asked about his gnosis, he smiled. "No. Shortley after I turn eighteen, I was gifted it by Goddess Rak'keli. My mother got sick, and I heal her," he said, the memory strong in his mind, like it was yesterday.

"Do you have any markings?" he asked curiously, wondering if she was gifted as well. He hadn't really met anyone with a Gnosis mark, and he was starting to feel like the only one.
