Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Eida was there and she had her package and the scroll. But she was lost. She and Arckhebohn split together to get know about the city but Eida had some problem with it. It was middle of the night and she was trying to figure out with the map where she was and where to go and what to do. She was investigating for like all night. She started to understand it finally. Syna was nearly coming up as Leth was going down. She saw herself now. She found the Main Gates on the map and she found she was next to Gideon Arena. And now where to go?

Some people were out the city now. Walking and doing their works. Eida looked up and saw the sun was coming up. She put her cloak on and her form changed. Good "easier" to find help in this form. But she had no choice but deal with it. Althought some people would notice she was confused and eventually they could notice her form change. She started to slowly walk forward and ask somebody now. Better than just waiting and standing. She looked around and just picked a man quickly. He had long brown or blonde hair she couldn't see it well and he was very muscular. She slowly walked there and asked for some help.

"Good morning! I'm really sorry for distrubing you but could you help me out? I just arrived here at night and I need some guide here."

She was like a young child. She always needed a guide. Leth, Arckhebohn and now him? She needed much to learn but she wasn't afraid to ask and she wasn't afraid to help if they asked to. That man she askek was Vanator. Eida hoped her daylight form won't distrub him.

Vanator's head ached. He had awakened sprawled out on a couch in the Kuvay'Nas Lodge, his mouth dry as a bone. The Drykas remembered, in part, the evenings activities, which comprised mostly of trying to keep up with Riaris and his companions in an evening of drinking at the Blue Bull. The Denusk was woefully out of practice, having drank little alcohol in the past several seasons. So, having found himself unsettled, Vanator had stepped out into Riverfall's empty pre-dawn streets, hoping the fresh air would help clear his head. A glance to the east showed the faint tint of morning kissing the night sky.

There was little life about, a stray dog, a pair of Kuvay'Nas patrolling the streets, bakers trudging to their ovens. And a woman. Vanator studied the her, a young woman studying a map in the poor light. The twilight too obscured much of her detail, revealing soft features framed by long dark hair..and horns. Vanator squeezed his eyes shut, then opened him, his pounding head trying to focus on the girl. Horns. The Drykas had found some mention of them in a book in Kavala's library, the only beings he ever heard of with such things, like the strange Drykas man that had saved him in the grasslands when he was a teen. Ethaefel.

He didn't see horns on Cadicus, but this one certainly did. Vanator walked closer, too tired and still a bit hazy to worry about bothering her. The dawn began to creep over the walls of the city, its warm glow adding some illumination to the street. He could then see her skin, the violet of her eyes, the white of her twisted horns. Though strange, she was beautiful, his approach continued, intrigued by the Ethaefal. But as Syna stole bac the sky from Leth, the woman's opalescent flesh turned pale, the horns already vanishing as she donned a cloak. The hands that clutched the garment were now tipped with dark nails, the silvery blue locks streaked and then finally replaced by white strands as her gracious form gave way to her mundane one. One that would not bode well for her in Riverfall, if she were not cautious, the form of a Symenestra.

She turned to address him, her features thinner and more ashen, though a measure of appeal still clung to her drawn face. The Eth...Symenestra...seemed polite enough, and seemingly unfamiliar with Riverfall.

"Yes, I saw...I saw the whole.."
Vanator's hands waved around her, in a wavy gesture, "thing." Her race was still a bit of a myth to the grasslander, which made him all the more curious. "You should pull up your hood. not everyone loves a Symenestra." His tone was a bit urgent. Vanator had no love for the Sym, but he realized this one was different, and a bit naive. She was in no real danger, but her presence would attract attention she may not be ready to deal with. Gently taking her by the arm, Vanator guided her to the side of the street, near the opening of between two buildings.

"Anyway, my name is Vanator."
He offered, "What are you doing here?"

He saw the whole. Eida was confused but she realized he saw her change. She wanted to answer but as Vanator warned her he already pulled her to somewhere else. Great she didn't know where she was again. Because of her appearance. She had a feeling she will have these problems. She took down her package and map, then she took out her cloak. She put it and pulled up her hood. It was much better now. She was still not sure what was going on. She bowed before him.

"My name is Eida, priestess and daughter of Leth!"She showed her mark as an evidence that she wasn't lying and she was no harm to him. Eida was still holding the map. Now that the sun came up she couldn't even see it well. She sighed as how pathetic she was right now. She smiled at Vanator in her embarassment."I was actually travelling with my dear kelvic there. We thought we could stay here a bit... And what did symenestras do? What's their problem with them? With me?"

She had no idea about her kind. She only knew her venom filled fangs and her big claws. But that could be enough reason. They must be hunting or hurting others. She didn't know and she tried to not pay attention to it. She lived her life under Leth's light as her daughter. No harm to anyone. She had a dark side maybe. She felt a bit strange in that form but she could easily control it.

The celestial Eth introduced herself, casting further perplexity to the woman's identity. Vanator's scant understanding did not allow him to understand her connection to Leth as a literal one she once enjoyed. The Drykas knitted is brow as she spoke. She was supposed to be an otherworldly being, in his eyes, but the woman seemed naive, even about herself. It was not easy to look past the face she now wore, so different from the radiant one he saw in the pre-dawn. The glimpse of thin fangs appeared between her lips as she spoke. He had never seen a Symenestra up close. She was not as monstrous as the tales suggested, possessing an almost human beauty in her thin, pale features. Still, the arachnid nature of the race and their reproductive habits made most humans, including Vanator, recoil. Others sought their immediate extinction as threats.

Eida had questions for him, and Vanator certainly had questions for her. She was concealed and safe for the moment, so the Drykas . "So, wait..." Van raised his hand, as if to gather a thought, "you look like a Symenestra, but you aren't one? How can you not know? I mean...sorry, I don't know a lot about your kind."

The Confused Woman(Vanator)

Postby Eida on June 17th, 2013, 8:18 am

She was really confused by now. She just came to the city and hoped she could settle down But before everything she had to already deal with her earthbounded form. The confusion even became bigger when he asked an obvious question: How can't she know it? She was one... At least at her pervious life. But she can't really remember. Nobody could tell her much things about them other than they are dangerous... But she could guess it from her own appearance. She looked around no one is near.

"I... I.. do-n't know. I was sent by... Leth. That's all I know. "She felt bad. She felt very bad about this. She was speaking but that was more like mumbling. She didn't know how to take actions now. She looked at her hands. And then looked at her gnosis mark. She started to calm down a bit. Syna showed the truth about her but still she loved her as she loved Leth. Leth showed the other truth. She grabbed Vanator's arm and pulled him slowly out from there. She didn't want to hide.

"Can you please take me for a tour please? And tell me about this city a bit? I will be careful and for Leth I promise I never bit anyone in my new life."She even showed her wrist as an evidence that she trully serves Leth and won't do such a thing. She couldn't hide now. She will hold her head high. Her hood was on thought so the sunlight won't hurt her eyes much. She will do something against it. She will work so they will trust her. As she thought about it. But at least that man helped her. Someone in this city.

Vanator listened carefully to the Eth's words and the concern and confusion that painted the tone of her voice. She seemed truly distraught that she may not be welcomed with open arms, not truly understanding what it meant to be Symenestra. Vanator gave her the benefit of the doubt. He was not afraid of her, he was afraid for her.

Eida's gesture drew his eyes from her long dark nails to the crescent moon design on her wrist. She certainly did bear Leth's mark. Long, thin fingers grasped his arm and gently tugged him out of the shadows. Amethyst eyes pleaded with the Drykas, and he nodded slightly, a small smile on his lips.

"Very well, Eida. I still don't know all of the city, but I will show you what I can."
The Ethaefel was in no immediate danger, especially in the company of Vanator, who many in the city now knew not only as a resident of Sanctuary, but as one who fought in the Spring Tournament.

Vanator lead Eida towards the city proper, pointing out the Gideon Arena on the left. At the first street, the Drykas pointed to the Labor Office in front of them. "If you end up staying, you will need to find work, there is where you will go." Then the Drykas turned left, taking Eida onto the long bridge over the Bluevein River, where he stopped to look over the scenery. The water cut the city in half, its water rushing under the bridge before it plunged over the falls into Plunge Pool Bay, the city's port just beyond, and, past the Sea Gates, the Suvan Sea.

"This may be the most beautiful place in the whole city." Vanator commented, staring out over the city and the sea.

The Confused Woman(Vanator)

Postby Eida on June 27th, 2013, 12:31 pm

Eida gladly followed Vanator. She already noticed how amazing and beautiful this city. First of course she could see the Gideon Arena. Then the Labor Office, where you can get a job. Hmm if she really wants to stay here she could be a good help of the city... Eida thought but obviously they wouldn't really like her to be even here. And then he took her to the bridge and she could see how the river flowed to the Suvan Sea as Tanroa's time was flowing too. Amazing view but she couldn't watch it for long because Syna's light reflected on the water's surface. "Vanator that's really beautiful... nature is truly beautiful!"

She was enjoying the sight but she couldn't notice a lot people was staring at them from the start, they were whispering to each other. She didn't smile she was a bit angry. But she tried to calm down she will deal with this somehow. She promised something to her father. She looked at the Drykas trying to find answers. Because they didn't just look at her but at him."They are looking like I'm a monster... Do you really not know why are they that scared and why do they hate me? I have claws, I have venom in my fangs... Are symenestras attacking others? Are symenestras murderers? And Vanator... who are you? I'm not the only one who get attention."

She didn't want to be rude but others were around them. Looking at them, whispering at their back. It was disturbing and Eida felt anger a bit. A woman and a little child were walking away next to them. The boy was confused and was staring at her. Eida looked at her and smiled at him. He was blue, he must be an akalak child. And she got an answer: The boy picked up a little stone and throw at her. She was quick enough to cover her face and only her hand was wounded a bit. The mother pulled the child away from there quickly. It hurts her hand. She didn't deserve it.

OOCOkay I'm not sure if a child in Riverfall would do that correct me if not! :D Oh and we can put a little action or trouble if you like to! :o

As the strange woman and Vanator walked along, the Drykas found the encounter to grow more curious each chime. Vibrant eyes peered out from under her hood, wisps of gray-white hair escaping the garb. She noticed the eyes upon her. Van could hear the distress in her voice. She was a curiosity, for certain. The fact that the Denusk man escorted her surely raised questions as well. He hoped the name, and the reputation Kavala had built around it as well as his own, would buy the Eth a little slack.

The woman was a bit of a mess, beset with an identity crisis of a sort. Vanator did not know much about Symenestra, but it seemed as if the Eth knew nothing. He wondered if her god was irritated at her to curse her with this form, or if it was something to do with her past. Regardless, they could not speak freely out in the open when she was distracted by the attention. "Relax Eida, they will not hurt you. We need to find an out of the way place to talk." The Akalak child made Vanator out to be a liar as the brat slung a stone at the pseudo-Symenestra. Vanator shot the child, and then the mother, a glowering glare before moving to step between them and the Eth. His arm went protectively around Eida's shoulder as he steered her between the medical center and the academy, stopping to look at her.

"Are you alright?" He asked, looking at her thin, dark-nailed hand. He understood the suspicions of the Riverians. To them, Eida was what she appeared. Only by seeing her after sunset would they understand her true identity. The Drykas also knew that the Menagerie actually kept a live pair of Symenestra captive as an exhibit. He must not let her see that, for fear it would panic the young woman. Also, Van was not sure if the Akalaks had replaced the Syms that were killed during the djed storm. He did not wish Eida to be mistaken for a candidate for display.

"I think it is best to lay low when you look like...this. People won't understand who you really are. In the meantime, I will tell you what I know about Symenestra, which is not much. But lets find someplace less..open."

Leading Eida back out into the street, they crossed over and and worked their way down to the next tier, to the Cliffside Grotto. There, on a narrow path through a colofrful garden of blooming flowers, trees and bushes, there was some sense of privacy.

And Vanator was not right. But he protected her at least. She looked at her left hand. A little wound from the stone but it will be better. She was sad about the situation. She was staring at the River again."Only my pride hurted... nothing important. She answered and couldn't hide her face for long as the drykas again took her to somewhere else. She pulled her hood more on and only watched Vanator's steps. This way she really didn't know where she was but that wasn't so important at the moment.

And now she could get answers at least. And as she was closer to that answer she was afraid to know it now. And they arrived into a park. For some moments Eida forgot all her problem and was amazed by the flowers. It was so beautiful. She took down her hood too. After she was gazing at them for so long she looked back at him and remembered what was the reason they were here. "Do you really think we can be safe here? I mean..." She shook her head.

Stupid question! He knew the city not her. She wasn't sure about anything anymore. She sighed and looked down hiding her face from everyone even from Vanator. "..Sorry, I just don't want you to get trouble because of me!"

The Drykas watched Eida as she took in the flowering flora around them. Vanator was not sure how to handle the Eth's situation, finding himself, once again, with a lost soul of sorts. He felt some responsibility for her, for he was not sure how she would fare if someone else would cross her path. He had never seen a Symenestra, and he assumed Eida's earthly form was accurate to the race. The light of the sun did little to bring color to the ashen tone of her face, except to illuminate faint, thin blood vessels beneath the pale surface. The pupils of her darting eyes were larger than normal, and when she spoke, the pearly spikes of sharp canines could bee seen, giving the woman a strange, unnatural appearance. She was not unpleasant to look upon, just, different.

"We are safe here." Aside from the errant child, Vanator knew there was little chance that Edia would be openly assaulted in the street. "And I am in no danger either, am ?"He added with a smile. The two continued to walk down a series of steps through the gardens. "Let me tell you what I understand about you, and you help me, so that I can in turn help you." He began.

"You are Ethaefal, right? All I know of them, and its only recently that I have ever heard of the stories of your kind, Is that you are some divine being that fell through a crack in the Ukalas." Vanator remembered the glimpse of Eida in the moonlight, how beautiful she appeared, a horned being that truly could have fallen from the realm of the gods. "But you are forced into some mundane form when the deity you serve yields their light to the other. So, being a servant of Leth, you must wear this body when Syna reigns, is that right?"
