Timestamp: 26th of Spring 513 AV (After Lunch)
Continued From: A Date For Training (Part 1)
The pair had gone out to lunch, eaten lightly, and relaxed. Kavala had enjoyed a glass of wine and a light salad filled with fruit and a bit of chicken along with the greens. They’d talked of casual things and were greeted by both Kavala’s clients and Riaris’ fellow Kuvay’Nas and friends. They’d lingered, split a desert of iced cream, and had laughed a bit longer than was decent for lunch.
Then, resigned, they’d both made the walk back to the Sasaran and warmed up again. Kavala started with leg lifts and stretches, then did push ups, pull ups on the bar designed for such things, and squat thrusts. When she felt her body was particularly warmed up, she walked back to the weapons rack, picked up the dual bladed wooden sword she’d left there that morning, and took her place on the training mats opposite of Riaris. She watched him, trying to determine if he was still Riaris or was in fact now Recoomas, and waited slightly nervously.
Kavala had spent virtually no time with Riaris’ other half. She knew next to nothing about him and though he was Riaris’ brother, that did not mean a whole lot to the Konti who had been savaged by the last Akalak’s other half she’d met unexpectedly. Kavala took a deep breath, kept moving, and swung the sword to refind its balance point and where her reach and center of balance was. She paused, nervous, dropped it, and fell to one knee to adjust a boot strap. She picked the weapon back up, checked her other gear and resumed the wait, keeping an eye on Riaris the whole entire time.
"Okay. I'm ready for this. Are you sure you are?" Kavala asked, not sure which of the brothers she was asking.
