The Flower Stand
Favik snorted at the Miss label as well, but didn't stop the little ghost girl from calling her it. She got the feeling she wanted to be proper, who was Favik to stop her? At least she wasn't a Madam anymore. As Kouri introduced herself and gave her a curtsy, Favik, still on her knees, dipped her head in return.
"Fubuki Kouri...." She tilted her head a little and said it again.
"Fubuki Kouri... Your name has a very nice sounding to it, it just rolls off the tongue." When Kouri demonstrated she couldn't return the warmth, Favik's back stiffened a little at the cold touch. It was just a small section this time and it didn't travel up her arm. She let out a nervous little laugh.
"That little cold spot is making the rest of my arm feel warm again... Strange." As she pulled away, Favik held her hand up to her mouth and blew her breath against it, her other hand rubbing her arm up and down to encourage warmth back into the limb.
"But its ok, you must be everyone's friend on really hot days. Or or!" She got really excited for a moment.
"Papa works out in the fields, and he comes home complaining sometimes that its too hot on some days, you could go cool everyone down!" Her eyes lit up with the scene playing out in her mind.
Favik was pulled from her daydream though as Kouri's solid form shifted into a translucent one. She let out a loud gasp, this being what hit home for her to believe her claims of being a ghost.
"Whoa!" Completely forgetting about her still rather cold arm, she leans forward, now standing on her hands and knees as she got up close and personal with Kouri's form again.
"You're floating! Oh oh! Can you fly up high in the sky!? That would be so nice if I could do that! Those damn birds wouldn't get away from me then!" She could see it now. Translucent like this girl (Cause of course, the flying went hand and hand with the translucentness to her understanding), Favik would rise up off the ground, a little eerie orange floating kitten. The birds wouldn't be able to escape! Fly fly fly as they might! They wouldn't get away, they would get tired eventually and have to rest! She'd never have to worry about falling out of trees again! She'd be a little feline raptor of the sky!
A pain in her shoulder brought her back to the world of the present and she flinched a little. Lifting her still cold hand up, she placed it over where she'd hurt herself a few days prior. Catching the changed look on Kouri's face, Favik tilted her head and scooted a little closer while the ghost was pondering over what flowers she wanted.
"What's wrong... Did I say something?" Her eyes glanced down to all the blood that was still on her.
"Do you still hurt... Can I help?" As the flowers her handed to her via tendril, she watched it in fascination for only a moment before her attention went back to the girl herself.
"They are beautiful, just the kinda flowers my Papa was asking for even though I couldn't remember..." Pulling out the required miza to pay for the flowers, she set it on the table that was closest to her.
"You do beautiful work...." She said, her voice now tinted with concern for the girl. Her mood had done a complete filp, like her own had done before, but Favik was just like that... Moods never stuck for her.
Her eyes widened then as she spoke a little about what was bothering her.
"Oh...." Her brows knitted and she looked down, eyes locked on the top of the bundle of roses in her hand. She sat there for a moment after Kouri was done talking, troubled by sadness she felt from the girl. Making up her mind, she shook her head a little and sat up straight.
"I don't mind your rambling, I ramble all the time. If you want to ramble, I shall listen." She said, a determined grin on her face.
Looking down at the flowers again, she spun the bouquet around a few times until she found two roses that were on the outside of the bundle and carefully pulled them out, making sure not to mess up the rest of the roses in the process. Once they were out, she looked the bouquet over again, nodding at it cause it still looked good even though it was short two roses now.
"I don't know how long its been, or if your parents are wandering around like you or somewhere else...." She started, eyes locked on the two roses in her hand before she held them out to Kouri.
"But wherever they are, I'm sure they would be able to see you giving them flowers, right? You give these two to them, from me and you to them. Ok? No more sadness. You make them smile cause they are watching you." Favik really didn't understand death or ghosts or the afterlife. She'd just watched her mother a few times comforting others while working who had lost those close to them.
