Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

mod noteThis thread works with the Morphing article in mind. In the article it states Morphing can be done with anything organic, and later on mentions plants. Because of this I really wanted to try morphing a plant, because I have not seen anyone do it yet! Lol

Early Evening

The sun had begun its decent from the heavens, and Abase watched from the shore of the stream where he sat, arms folded over his knees. His mother would not be finished at the Order for some time, and so he had found little else to do with the day. With a sigh he closed his eyes, listening to the gentle flow of the water over the rocks, resting his forehead on his arms. It was a rather dull, uneventful afternoon, and despite Irists' probings Abase did not feel the need to stand and do any physical exercises to strengthen his body. At times Abase grew very annoyed with his dark brother, yet still it was due to him that they BOTH could enjoy the body they shared to the fullest.

The Akontak felt something brush against his arm, and with a lazy wave of his hand he brushed it away. Yet again he felt it, and looking up he finally took note of the small bush that sat next to him. It tickled him with small, silver leaves that looked almost translucent. Tilting his head, Abase wondered what it could be. Unlike his mother, Abase knew little of the Flora of the Isle. Reaching forward, Abase made to pick one of the leaves, intent on taking it to inquire of its nature later, yet he paused just as his thumb and forefinger encircled the stem. He felt a strange sense of guilt at thoughts of harming the innocent plant, perhaps the Konti of Mura were beginning to rub off on him?

With a smile Abase released the plant, returning to his position, eyes still on the strange leaf. Still, how could he ask his mother if he did not have the plant in hand? Of course Abase had already considered one option, though he was still held back by doubt. Was it even possible? He wasn't sure... he had never tried something such as this before, and that nagging sensation of possible failure pulled at his consciousness... Yet with a shrug he thought,
What harm is there in trying?

Turning his body so that he faced the bush, Abase raised one hand before his eyes, palm facing toward the bush so that Abase could see the scales along his wrist. Gently Abase stroked the scale, letting his mind settle back into itself, pulling from his physical being until he gazed at the scale as an artist would a canvas. He imagined that the scale glowed with the power of djed, the djed that made that scale a scale, and with one finger Abase stroked this djed, pushing on it and pinching it, deforming the singular scale as he fiddled with its simple manipulation. Unlike like other morphs he had done, this one was relatively simple, having a single, small, target on his bond on which he could focus all of his attention.

His eyes fell on the leaf once more, and he thought of how he should start. The shape, yes the very fundamental of the fundamental, should be the starting place, or so Abase figured. Looking back at the djed scale, abase pinched at the life code, pulling on it to elongate it, stretching the scale as he did so. There was a little resistance, but with such a small change his Djed's natural form did not fight to reassert itself too forcefully. Tilting his head, Abase eyed the leaf, flicking his gaze between it and the scale he was molding. He copied split for split the strange branching, yet someone elegantly curved, structure of the leaf, yet as he compared the two he noticed that the scale structure was much thinner than that of the leaf. Frowning as he furrowed his eyebrows, Abase closed his eyes, keeping a clear mental picture of the djed that he had just molded. He them imagined the djed expanding ever so slightly, filling out until it was the right shape, the right size, and held just the right curve. Opening his eyes, Abase looked between the scale and the leaf, passing his finger over the scale to remove or add to in places, until he was at last satisfied that the structure was identical to that of the leaf.

With the basic shape finished, Abase examined the color of the leaf. It was a fine, almost frosted looking color. Like ice that began to form on glass. Looking back at his creation, Abase pressed a finger against the scale. Rubbing carefully, he imagined he was rubbing away the color and texture of his scales, and with each swipe of his finger more and more of the djed came away, until finally the leave scale looked more like a leaf shaped piece of glass. Nodding to himself, Abase then raised his hand over the structure, dusting his fingers together as if he were sprinkling salt, imagining the djed falling from his fingers were like snowflakes that, when they landed on the surface of the structure he created, frosted over the glass. Looking back and forth between the leaf and his creation, Abase smiled. Reaching a finger out he touched the leaf that grew upon the bush, feeling its strange, almost furry feel. Looking at the leaf that grew from his hand Abase imagined djed pressing against the surface of the leaf, forming tiny tiny white hairs, and Abase felt a tickling sensation as the hairs came to life.

Now, moving his hand to feel the leaf that grew from his hand, Abase felt its texture. It was not perfect, but it now had the same frosted glass appearance, and felt slightly furry to the touch. Nodding once more, Abase was satisfied that this would be enough for his Mother to identify the plant, and so he released his old on the magic. Quickly the leaf receded back into abase's hand, losing its frosted look as it took on the silvery rough texture of a scale once more.

Standing, Abase stretched his arms over his head, yawning as the sun finally dipped over the horizon. Absently he wondered what he would eat that night, and with a shrug he began to make his way home.

OOC :
The leaf that Abase copped was the Cianberry leaf from the common push that grows on Mura. Can be found in the Mura Flora Page :)

Additional Comments :
I just kept imagining Abase covered in fuzzy white hairs if he could achieve this leaf pattern all over his skin (Not sure how useful that would be...but...). Once again a nice description of Morphing with an interesting take on subject matter.
