Aron “Banisa” de Soto Appearance Race: Human - Svefra Gender: Male Age: 42 Birthday: 15, Autumn, 470. Birthplace: Zeltiva Mother: Vanis de Soto Pod: None Appearance: Aron is a stern-looking creature. He stands roughly 6'4" tall, of medium build. While he has begun to run to fat due to his age, he still retains quite a lot of his strength. His skin is tanned from working on his ship under the sun, though through careful intervention it has not become leathery as have so many Svefra. His hands are particularly long-fingered, dextrous and exacting, useful for his metal and gem work. Aron keeps the nails somewhat long, as they have become useful in certain aspects of his jewelcraft. It also clearly advertises his lack of need to work heavily, whereby he can consider himself an aristocrat. His legs are strong and lean, though he does suffer from back aches and pains due to long hours settled over a tiny desk in the ‘Courtesan’ peering at gems. His eyesight is prized because of this, sharp little dark blue eyes that can pinpoint the slightest fracture in a gem. Aron’s lips are thin, giving him the perpetual look of stress. They can part to form a rather charming white smile, however. His chin is neither weak nor strong, and sports a carefully groomed goatee in a triangular fashion, starting from just below the lip and ending a thumbs’ breadth beyond the chin. His hair is worn an inch or two beyond his ears, gold streaked with lighter hints of flax blonde bleached by the sun. The underhairs are such a dark blonde as to appear brown. While his neatly shaped, lobeless ears are pierced, only the left has a simple gold hoop looped into it. Lines streak his face from stresses and worries long forgotten. Character Concept Aron is a controlling man who does not take no for an answer. He prefers to use wit to corner his enemies, and would rather a man owe him a favour than kill. His love of politics and blackmail has enabled him to instill fear in enemies he chooses without so much as drawing a blade. The best weapon, to Aron, is a concealed one. Aron does possess a certain amount of arrogance and self-confidence, mostly due to his skills and the blackmail he clothes himself with. He is a very hard man to arouse to anger, and prefers to keep his emotions hidden behind a patronizing look and cold eyes. He also is given to several unusual rituals instilled throughout his day that must be completed. Obsessive by nature, he keeps the Courtesan and himself impeccably clean at all times and detests 'filthy' work. One could even go as far as to label him prissy at times, not one given to adventuring and wandering about in the muck. He would rather curl up at home with a good cup of tea and a book. However, Aron is also a very determined human being. Given obstacles will only make him try harder to overcome them, and he does not release an idea easily. He is absolutely driven to make the idea of luxury slaves palatable to Mizahar, and to put himself at the top of the money-making heap. While this seems like a self-serving goal, it has another purpose; Aron seeks to release his mother from running a brothel in Zeltiva. While she owns and runs it, he knows she longs for retirement and considers his first duty to her above all others. While easy on the eyes, Aron has never had a gift for relationships. His relations with women and men are easygoing; he likes them, they tend to like him. Everything runs rather smoothly given his charming exterior. But it falls apart when they find out his lineage, being the son of a whore and an unkknown Svefran, is less than spectacular. If they are not driven off by the uncomfortable idea of an unpodded Svefran with no discernable ties to the rest of his race, his enthusiastic ideals of slavery often do. Because of this, Aron has chosen to worship the goddess of slaves as a slaver, rather than the traditional god of the Svefrans. He feels very little kinship toward others of his race, as he has known very few excluding his mother. Everything he knows about his kind comes from her and the few men he managed to snag conversations out of in the docks. |
