Savio coughed as he stepped back from Ximal’s punch to his chest. He frowned as he rubbed the spot and watched his teacher get into a punching position. Savio reset his stance once more and moved into the fist like how he saw Ximal do. He movements were much slower than the Master’s, but slowly but surely he went through the motions. Gradually he started speeding up once the motions became familiar.
Savio repeated the motions fifty times first on the right, and then the left. Ximal was right, the maneuver did appear to be simple but in practice it took a steady hand and quick reflexes to perform correctly. By the time he had finished, both his mind and his body was starting to feel the strain of this lesson.
The young man found himself starting to feel slightly discouraged at how difficult it was for him to fully comprehend this lesson. He couldn’t understand why his mind was putting up such a block.
Xi smirked and laughed lighty as he saw sav's confused face. "Don't worry i don't expect you to get this tier of move right away. Up until now i've taught you the basics, i've broken your ingrained foundations and built up my own. I'm going to make sure that whatever skills you have are trained to their highest. You have only learnt basic skills , now i'm teaching you actual moves. Practice that move on your own time, and before you ask Yes i started out exactly the same i've focused every move i use through over ten thousand uses. Against people and as a training routine. Just practice, it makes perfect. Now don't you have a job your ass needs to get too?" Xi smirked sliding the bow from his shoulder and launching another arrow at the tree this one...Hitting the dead centre.
Savio froze as Ximal reminded him of his courier job. Savio looked up at the sky and realized just how late in the day it already was. Savio cursed as he ran to grab his shirt and water pack from the ground and then he sprinted into the building to grab a clean shirt, his belt pouch and his dagger before running back out. He said his farewell’s to Ximal as he sprinted past the Master on his way out of the training grounds. As he ran, he fastened his belt and tugged on his shirt.
As he continued to run towards The Post, he went over the maneuver in his mind. What wasn’t he getting? It made perfect sense in his mind, but his body wasn’t reacting to it accordingly. Perhaps he will train some more on it when he returned to the school later on that evening, if it wasn’t too dark and he wasn’t too tired.
