The wolves began their assault. One by one, five wolves emerged from the shadows of the forest. Kouri rose from her comfortable resting position, ready to fight. Vladimir on the other hand was prepping his utility bracer, both his spring blade and needle launcher were both armed and coated with bloodroot poison. If this poison entered the body, the victim would succumb to mild confusion and physical weakness. Vladimir still held one of Kouri’s daggers, also laced with poison. However, Kouri was still unaware of this fact.
The five wolves rushed out towards their prey, growling in an attempt to intimidate both Kouri and Vladimir. However, three wolves bite the cold harsh steel as Kouri launched her three daggers into three wolves, each dagger piercing the eyes. “Good job, White Angel!” Vladimir cheered, holding a somewhat off combat position. Due to Vladimir’s inexperience, Vladimir held an ungraceful post, gripping the dagger with two hands instead of the usual one.
Three wolves were down. However, the remaining two were on their way to Vladimir. “Not good, not good!” Vladimir said with his body frozen in position. Vladimir wanted to run, but his legs wouldn’t move. He wanted to fight or fend himself, but his arms are frozen. The sound of Kouri’s voice of desperation pierced his mind. A wolf was going to attack him from the front and a wolf was going to flank him from the side. Vladimir could feel Dira looming over him, ready to claim his lost soul. “Petch…” Vladimir uttered out, looking at both of the wolves.
Vladimir wasn’t going to go down without out a fight, so Vladimir attempted to display a threating combat pose. However, it his stance was completely off. Before long the wolf that was going to flank him got too close and leapt in the air, ready to claim its kill...

Daddy, why do you stick with mummy all the time?
Hahah, well you see son. You’re mother she’s a bit brash sometimes and gets herself hurt. I have to watch over her to make sure she’s okay, and fix her injuries.
But what about you daddy? Mummy said that she watches over you too. Are you brash as well?
Hahah, no son. All though your mother seems to think so. Like her, I too need to be looked after. We are a team after all, like the mind and body. We protect each other. The mind helps the body by repairing the body, and the body keeps the mind protected from harm. If one of us gets injured, we both get injured.
But daddy, what happens if one of you dies?
Well, my son, The body can’t live without the mind, nor can the mind live without the body. When on perishes the other will soon follows.

The sound of Kouri screaming pierced Vladimir’s ears. Her banshee-like voice was like a blessing with a curse. The wolf that was about to attack him from the front was stunned but Kouri’s scream. This was Vladimir’s opportunity to strike.
As the wolf whimpered from Kouri’s shrill voice, Vladimir charged held the dagger over his head, gripping it with both hands like a primitive savage. “AARRRRGGGHHHH!!” Vladimir screamed and he thrust the dagger down, into the skull of the stunned wolf. The sound of bone crunching was audible, and was somewhat appealing to Vladimir. However, the sound of Kouri’s voice in pain was still heard. Vladimir turned his hear towards the wolf how had pinned down Vladimir’s White Angel. “WHITE ANGEL!!” Vladimir yelled, trying to pull the dagger out of the wolf’s skull. With a bit of effort he managed to rip out the dagger.
Vladimir began running towards the wolf, with his savage-like stance. Vladimir trust down the dagger, but it landed on the wolf’s side. The wolf whimpered and backed of Kouri, taking the dagger along with it. The wolf then turned its direction to Vladimir, snarling and beared its teeth. However, the wolf began limping abnormally, struggling to keep itself upright. Its legs quivered and soon collapsed. Within the wolf’s body, the dagger was lodged in its side, near the heart. The poison from the blade seeped into the wolf’s veins and was pumped around the body; into the brain, heart and muscles.
With the wolf on the ground, Vladimir walked up to the wolf and pulled the dagger from its side. The wolf looked in pain as it struggled to move and lick its wound. Vladimir looked over at Kouri, who was still in pain then looked back at the wolf. He crouched down to the wold hand grabbed it’s snout, keeping its mouth shut. “Look what you have done to my White Angel. And you know what, I don’t want to see the colour of your blood. I know what it looks like. However… I do want to see your inside!” Vladimir said, intoxicated with madness.
Vladimir stabbed the wolf in the stomach and dragged down the knife, creating an open hole. Vladimir then shoved his hand inside the wolf, and reached for the wolf’s heart. Vladimir could feel its heart beating fast. Vladimir wrapped his fingers around the heart of the wolf. For each second Vladimir’s hand was inside the wolf, the wolf would howl louder in pain, but its howls were muffled but Vladimir’s hands. “This is what it feels like to have your heart ripped out…”
With all five wolves dead, Vladimir walked over to Kouri, picking her up and resting her on his lap. Vladimir could feel her sucking up his warm body heat as well as the bold of the wolves, but he didn’t mind. Kouri looked more transparent than usual. Vladimir didn’t know how to treat a ghost, nor does he know if such treatment exists. However, Vladimir is willing to try to help his new friend. “White angel, are you okay?” Vladimir asked.
Unbeknownst to Vladimir two more wolves stalked the forest, a large alpha, and a strong beta. The seemed to be slightly more intelligent than the previous wolfs, they employed stealth and strategy. Their strategy was letting the omega wolves attack to weaken the prey, and then strike when the prey is at its weakest. The beta wolf and the Alpha wolf slowly some out of the shadows. The beta came from the front and the alpha came from behind. Vladimir could only see the beta wolf.
Holding Kouri in his arm, Vladimir raised his unoccupied arm, holding the utility bracer and aimed it towards the beta wolf. Vladimir had previously armed the needle launcher with a poison coated needed, and was ready to use it on the wolf. However, it’s range wasn’t too great so Vladimir waited for the wolf to come into range.
