Chembalo Appearance Race: Kelvic (Red Panda) Gender: Male Age: 3 Birthday: 15th day of Spring, 510 Birthplace: Syliras Appearance: In human form Chembalo appears to be in his late 20's, 5'10" tall, weighting 175 lbs. He has short red hair, yet a black goatee and brown eyes. While not being particularly muscular, he can move quite gracefully, like most Kelvics. As a red panda his most distinctive feature is his alternatingly red and light orange striped tail. Character Concept Red Pandas often do little more than eat and sleep. Consequently Chembalo is quite lazy even in human form, at least concerning physical labor. Instead he often prefers sitting or lying around while chewing on something and reading. He is indeed educated and takes great pride in that fact. Nothing ticks him off more than people questioning his intelligence just because he is a Kelvic. Since Chembalo has been unbonded for all his three year long life, he has taken on a very human nature. He would not be content with living in the forests with his animalistic brothers any more. Eager to learn as much as possible in his life, he can be quite persistent when demanding answers. Still, he doesn't think he would ever commit evil just to help himself along. He is not exactly the one for brawling or fighting. Like red pandas, he rather stays out of that, and instead tries to avoid the danger if possible. His favorite food is the bamboo leaves of the plant his parents gave him as a gift. He usually takes a bunch of them with him, and can almost always be seen chewing on one. Character History Chembalo was born to two humans merchants in Syliras, 510. His mother told him and his father, that the Kelvic factor sometimes skipped entire generations until it unexpectedly resurfaces. Even though rumor has it, that Kelvics cannot be born to two humans; Chembalo has not heard a word of that in his life. If it turns out to be true, it means his mother had been hiding a little secret... Even though his parents loved him, they did not quite know what to do with their unusual child. Attempts to send him to a regular school ended in swift failure. They grew ashamed of him and kept him home most of the time. In order to allow him an education, like they had planned for their child, they hired a personal teacher. Chembalo was taught to read and given access to any book he wanted. To the surprise of his family, he showed a keen interest in the magic field of morphing. They could not understand why a Kelvic would want even more shape-changing powers. The truth was, Chembalo had noticed how others, especially other children, saw him as some kind of freak. Alone at home, he wished and wished to be more like them; to take back apparent years, that he had grown within mere seasons. This had served as initial meditation and thus Chembalo tapped into the power of his djed for the first time. Realizing his potential, his teacher recommended sending him to a better learning facility as soon as possible. Even though he had by then gotten over his envy of the other children, he was still thrilled at the offer of a higher education. That is why he traveled to Zeltiva. To allow him to learn more magic. To fulfill his aspirations even though he has only the short life of a Kelvic. And to find a bonding partner to unlock the secrets of the world together with.
