Dusk of the 77th of Fall, 512 AV
Hisoka trotted through the gates and nodded to the guards; just a small gesture as she passed. She could feel the curious gazes on her back as she walked out of the protection of the city, the same as the night before. It was most likely because In their eyes, what they saw was a young woman instead of the hunter that lay within. Though the wolf kelvic still shied away from most humans, well, others in general, she was gradually becoming used to being in the presence of other people, even in crowds thanks to Crypt and Maras' help. She smiled at the thought of the Drykas and his strider. Perhaps it was the animalistic side of her, but Hisoka had found that she got along with the horse rather easily, and often sat together in companionable silence while Crypt ran his errands. Still, she had discovered that she could leave the confines of the city walls and stretch her legs. It was one thing to live with the two-legged people, but it did not do to confine a four-legged creature, especially a predator.
Thoughts returning to the present, she walked down a path leading to the trees. A few chimes into the trees, she began to search for a place where she would be hidden from sight. Finding a spot sheltered from prying eyes, she quickly shed her clothing, not wanting to ruin them when she changed. Folding and placing the garments carefully, she hid them under some brush and crouched. It was almost nightfall. A time when the world became dark. A time when predators prowled. 'Moon... night... wolf,' she thought to herself, before letting the change take over. With a brief glowing flash of light, the form of a wolf took the place of where the girl had been, panting lightly. Her black fur rustled gently in the autumn air as she raised her nose towards the night sky. A light breeze brought various scents from the woods; decomposing leaves, nuts, earth, trees, a stream. Other scents also reached her nose, those of birds, mice, rabbits, and other creatures; prey.
Rising on all four paws, she took off slowly at first, accelerating to a quick trot until she was a few chimes further into the forest. Once she was at least a twenty chimes, two-legged walk away from the edge of the trees, she increased her pace to an outright run, the forest floor blurring beneath her padded feet. Joy coursed through her lupine form as she stretched her legs, exerting her muscles to catapult her through the otherwise, mostly sleeping, woods.
At last, her legs now loosened and panting heavily, she came to a slow stop by a pool of water, which lay underneath a small waterfall. The moon was now making it's way through the sky, while she gazed at her own reflection on the still surface of the water. Her crystalline blue eyes glowed with contentment, her tongue lolling out of her mouth as she regained her breath. Lowering her head to lap some of the water, something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye, a quick movement beneath the surface. Hisoka paused, still and alert as she watched for the cause. There it was again! Her eyes followed the creature, for it was indeed a creature, and watched as it swam. That was when she realized that she was hungry, and what ever it was, was most likely prey. From what she could tell, it looked like a "fish," which was not too uncommon in the city where she and Crypt were staying. Lifting a paw slowly, she watched the fish swim, waiting until it was just in her reach, before swiping her paw downwards and sideways in one quick movement. Though her reflex was controlled by some raw instinct, being unpracticed in this method, her swipe missed; merely splashing the surface, while her unsheathed claws missed the fish entirely. Grumbling in discontent at her failure, she huffed out a breath, and waited until the water was still once again. After that, she made three more attempts, the third splashing water into her own face. Frustrated, she jumped to her feet and began to pace in a circle.
