At first they fought. Screaming and yelling filled the house. Sometimes it was at each other and sometimes it was at Lorelle. They were mad, it was obvious and expected though surprising at the same time. It was the first time Lorelle had ever heard them fight like this. She really messed everything up and she knew that. That is what made it all so awful. That somewhere inside her, even in her drunken state she knew what she was letting Meville do was wrong and not responsible.

After the fighting came tears. Some where loud, some were quiet. Lorelle’s were silent. She could hear her mother sobbing in the other room and it dug deep into her own soul. It was hard to move and go about her life. It was hard to just do simple morning tasks like get up and take care of herself. The sounds of those sobs made her regret dig deep and really sink in.

Then there was silence. She was completely ignored. Neither of her parents talked to her. They just went about their daily lives and almost acted as if she didn’t exist. This cut even deeper than the fighting or the tears. This was almost as if they were saying she no longer belonged in this home or to them. As if seventeen years didn’t happen.

The silence was enough to get Lorelle moving again. She tried desperately to get her parents attention, wanting to be noticed again. It didn’t take. Soon her being upset turned to anger and that was where we find Lorelle. She has decided to take some of her anger and challenge it into something productive. So she found herself a room at the Hall of Aural Creation with her flute and her voice and tons of potential lyrics swimming in her head.

"I could blame it on my mom, I could blame it on my dad
But really it was me
Foolish, foolish me

It was a weak spot in my life
One to that'll never get light
It is to be forgotten
To be buried with the night

They blame me the past
I did wrong
They are silent in their ways
Never telling me why
I blame her and the way she loved me"

The lyrics were put to a soft melody that was really all over the place. They weren't really lyrics, but more like thoughts spilling from Lorelle's mind. They didn't necessarily all fit together, but at the same time they flowed like a soft rhyme. Lorelle sang them out, not really caring where the words were going but more about getting her feelings out. She felt hurt and betrayed by the two people that should stand by her no matter what. Even when she did deserve them ignoring her and acting as though she didn't exist.Image
