Mamoru glared at the sickly Dhani, there was a familiar look in his eyes, the smile stretching across cracking lips before he licked the blood from his fingers. He was enjoying himself, he felt alive again with the encounter with some form of furry growing within him that seemed to whisper through the walls. It was as if the room was his, a part of him and the Trickster was uninvited. Or was it that he was invited that caused his cold blood to shiver, that he was welcomed to stay for all time.

"Yesss, ssomething to do. You will die if you continue thisss. Killing my own kind issn't ssomething that I enjoy. But I will do it.."

Mamoru's eyes widen and he tighten his fist and stood his ground. The coiling Dhani's motion wasn't unnoticed by the trickster, he himself had done the same thing many times before. The moment the ghostly Dhani launched himself at him, the trickster darted forward as well, arms raised to attack. He was quickly wrapped up by the Dhani who reached for his neck a second time. Mamoru reached out one hand catching the wrist of the Dhani and using the claws in his other hand to drive them into the Dhani's heart.

"Aarraaghh!"

The pale scaled Dhani cried, his hand squeezing tighter around Mamoru's throat, and the other trying to pull the tricksters clawed fist from his chest. Mamoru choked and gagged from the force of the Dhani's strength, though the striking pain in his chest weakened him a lot. Still he pushed back against the trickster's arm, bit by bit drawing his claws from his chest. Mamoru coughed and gagged, feeling his breaths grow shorter as the Dhani continued to choke him. With all of his strength, the gasping Dhani shoved his fist back into the creepily pale Dhani's chest as hard as he could.

"Aaaarrghhhh!"

The pale Dhani screamed, feeling the last of his strength weaken and his grip on the trickster loosen and fall away. With his other clawed hand free, Mamoru drove it deep into the Dhani's chest and held them both in position until both of the Dhani fell to the ground.

"Cheater" The snake whispered bitterly as blood poured out of his chest form the gaping wound. It wasn't fair waiting all of this time only to meet a fresh faced foe, and he just weak and on the brink of death. He snarled in frustration even now, but as Mamuro rose from the ground, already eyeing the sword, the Dhani felt his life force wither away, to go into Dira's embrace and be re-born, perhaps as a cockroach or a fat toad.

Crazed eyes calmed in the moments before death and soon only one creature stood alive in that tomb-like room, who had passed every challenge that had lay before him, and come out...more or less unscathed.

The sword gleamed upon its pedestal, waiting for blood.

Mamoru pushed himself away from the Dhani and crawled to his feet. The Dhani breathed deeply, the wounds on his body burning, and he released a loud shriek that wasn't completely manly, or feminine. He glared down at the creature on the ground and he did pity the Dhani, or what used to be one. But it was time to move on now, and he was the victor, which meant..

"Mine...."

The trickster slowly moved to the sword on display, and just as he reached for it, he remembered the inscription. The blade couldn't be moved without blood and apparently it needed a lot. He turned back to look at the body on the floor, his mind working to think up what needed to be done in order to finish what he started. Normally he was good with puzzles, in fact he enjoyed them a lot. But in his tired state, he just wanted to get his prize and move on.

"Blood it isss..."

Mamour stumped his way over to the fallen Dhani and leaned down, bending his knees and pulling all of the weight into them as he lifted the heavy body up and stumbled backward where he clumsily slammed it on top of the blade and fell to the floor. Shaking off the thump, Mamoru pushed himself back up and with the body laying on top of the blade, he slammed the bone blades from each fist into the meat over and over again until the blood poured out everywhere. The blade, the throne it sat upon, and even the floor was covered in blood now. With a satisfied look on his face, the Dhani shoved the body away and attempted to lift the blade.

The blade, drenched in crimson, still seemed to glisten as the Trickster reached for it. There was the barest hint of resistance, raising a bit of doubt within his gullet as tired arms sought to lift the blade from it's holder, almost as if pulling at the last vestiges of willpower the Dhani had, but with a wet sucking sound the blade popped free of its hold and seemed to fit comfortably in Mamuro's grasp.

"Wasn't that hard in the end...was it?" Said a voice the crept from the corner of the room. When Mamuro's eyes turned he would see a woman, clothed in naught but a thin shift. Her hair was long, dreadlocks that stuck out from the back of her head like a matted spike, and she had a very...corporeal way about her. She looked Myrian through and through, despite the fact that Mamuro could see the pillars of the room behind him.

"You'd think that once in a while the Myrian would choose down, the Dhani up, after all...doesn't it seem to easy to go with what you know?" She leaned upon the pillar in a bored manner. "But alas, even the clever snakes just don't seem to have any creativity these days." Her voice was in common, but hung thick with the accent all Myrians displayed.

She watched the Dhani for a long moment in silence, listening to any quips he might throw at her, before gesturing with her hand. "If you move that stone you'll find a tunnel that will lead you back to your friend. It was fun watching you for a time, snake, but try not to come back here, I promise it won't be as fun the second time."

And with that...the ghost vanished and Mamuro was left to his own devices. True to her word the heavy stone could be moved out of the way, with a great amount of effort to reveal a small set of steps and a passage carved with the sadistic kind of pleasure that the Trickster might remember from his previous trip to the room with the stair well. At the end of it he found a dead end, but it didn't require much strength to push the rocks away, emerging to find a flustered looking Agolyss, who reared back to face her enemy only to discover it was a blood soaked Mamuro with a strange new weapon in hand.

oocFeel free to make your way back to Zinrah or however you want to tie up Mamuro's end of this, my next post will be any final little blurb and your grade.

Slither Home Now (Zharus, Mamoru)

The last thing that Mamoru thought that he would find, would be the ghost of a Myrian. Had the sickly Dhani met her as well? Was she the one that told him about covering the weapon in blood? One thing that he had figured out, was that the place must have been built by Myrians, or some subculture of both and the non too subtle way the ghost hinted at what might be above made that even more clear. But there was another question that pulled at his mind, why was she allowing him to live?

"Sso you ssay...monkey."

Mamoru was too tired and sore to find himself in a battle with a ghost and so, he allowed her comments to pass and simply listened until she told him something useful. A way out. The trickster wasn't sure if she was telling the truth, or if this was around puzzle and maze for him to travel through for her amusement. But it was as she said, the stone moved after Mamoru put the last of his strength into pushing it away. The Dhani's eye did twitch after he was reunited with more steps of the same style as before. But with no other way out, he headed on.

"Ssickly Dhani, ghosst Myrianssss, and sstill no Zinarh."

He moved through the passage slowly, keeping his form slim and his eyes peeled. There was no way of knowing what would happen next and just as he had that thought, him came to a dead end. But unlike before, when he had been surrounded with stone walls, these here were rocks. With another grunt, he went to work, tossing and shoving stones until he burst out the other side to find Agolyss with a surprised look upon her face. The trickster gave another grunt, looking back over his shoulder before he turned to address the woman.

"It sseemsss that I have wassted our time. For all the traps and deadly obstaclesss, they led me back here. Let'sss be off then, no reasson to sstay in a pit with Myrian ghosst."

Mamoru decided not to say more, not that he thought she cared anyway and slowly headed back up the stairs to look and see if they were clear. After peeking out and finding no one around, the trickster called to Agolyss, and with her at his back he headed out and back into the jungle. The walk back to the jungle wasn't long, but for the exhausted Dhani it seemed like more than a bell. Once they were finally back to the nest after more careful slinking around the ruins, Mamoru was glad to allow the woman to go her own way. His job was done, and he even got something special in the process. The blade in his grip still gleamed with the blood of the Dhani that he killed, and the added crimson only made it more appealing.

"Mine..."

OOCThanks so much for doing this.

Inventory:

+1 Maledicted Katana - A Silver blade attached to a long, elegantly carved bone handle whose shape is akin to a stem of bamboo, comfortable in the hand, and carved with malediction runes.

Properties: The longer the bearer is in contact or the near vicinity of the blade, the harder they find it to part with the weapon to the point of obsession. This can be broken by spending a single day apart from the blade, but it will continue to increase over time once more as soon as the owner comes back into contact with it.

The blade seems to have no need of sharpening, and is extremely easy to clean and polish, but it will glisten close to a glow after it has slain a Dhani, and it seems to cut through scales as easily as thin flesh.

Additional Notes :
So, that turned out to be a fun job thread! I was glad to take it off kilter a bit there, and I hope you enjoyed! Mamuro won't know the properties of the blade until he discovers them for himself, but I figured I'd give a bit of a double edged gift, I mean now that it has had Dhani blood it just wants more, you can't really blame it...can you?

Anyway, I really enjoyed this thread, Mamuro is a very interesting character, and you got lots of XP to boot, so enjoy your spoils!

If you have any questions, concerns, accolades, complaints, etc about your grade, drop me a PM and we can most certainly talk it out.

As always, Safe Travels!
