Sagitta leaned closer in order to have a better look. It was a white feather. Big and ominously stained with blood. As if their situation was not disturbing enough. She shook her head at Matthew's question, having no knowledge in animals in particular. "I'm afraid not." She wondered how it had gotten here, among these derelict ruins. It wasn't a good sign to her. Blood and animals. The bird might be something's dinner. Not a pleasant thought, but she couldn't help herself.
From time to time, Sagitta expected the man to ask her questions - that's what most people would've done, but every time she was wrong. She knew Matthew noticed everything she was not telling him. It was as much as relieving as it was disturbing. For one, the Ethaefal was excused from answering things she did not know the answer to. But still, his indifference was uncanny.
As much as she longed to rest for a while longer, it was better to just keep going on. Who knew how long it would take for them to encounter any form of civilization? If at all? The night time was still some time away, but they couldn't be too careful. Her fingers tightened around the golden pendant, but she made no move to put it on. She liked the feel of the metal pressing against her palm.
"We should get moving soon. Let me know when you think you are ready."
Of course they should. Something might be out there bidding its time to get at them. There were no timeouts. Taking a slow look around, Sagitta clenched her jaw. "Alright, we should go. But where?" Her breath hitched at the last word. "Where can we go? I don't see any way out of this place. I don't anything resembling a structure anywhere near. We're thrown in the middle of nowhere! There's nowhere to go. Even if we did by some miracle got out of here, I don't know who I am, alright? I don't my name. I don't know where I came from. I don't know anything!" Her words turned sharp with desperation and anger. She was tired and hungry and frustrated and upset. And for a second, she let it all out. The mood swing was sudden and swift - a trait the Ethaefal had suddenly developed after the fall.
