Delilah's Fortune

Summer 48, 513 AV

Lucas‘ room wasn’t hard to find. He had put a paper that said „FORTUNE TELLING HERE“ in front of the door so that everybody immediately knew it was his.

The former squire had just decided to leave his room and get something to drink – all the fortune telling had made him thirsty - when Deliliah came his way.

He looked down at what seemed like a tiny, moving doll, then he wondered whether he was hallucinating and rubbed his eyes, and then he looked at her again. He had forgotten that he had wanted to get a drink.

This here was much more interesting than a stupid mug of ale.

„Hello, little one“, he offered her a somewhat lame greeting, and then he abruptly bent down and picked her up, without asking her if she was okay with that first. „Are you a Pycon or some kind of animated toy?“

Lucas had always wanted a Pycon pet. He actually considered putting her into his backpack for a moment, but she would probably be able to escape from there, and he didn’t have a proper cage to put her in. So he decided to just talk to her – for now. Maybe he would go and buy a cage later on.

„I’m Lucas“, he introduced himself. „And I’m a fortune teller, among other things. I was also a squire, a bodyguard, a bartender and a teacher. And who might you be?“

Delilah's Fortune

Postby Delilah on July 1st, 2013, 3:53 am

Once Delilah returned to the Inn, she looked around for any easy signs of what a fortune tellers room might look like. Easily enough, there was in fact a sign hanging on a door advertising the fortune telling inside. Delilah began to make her way to the room when a man came out of the room, seemingly on his way out. The man almost ran into her, but just before he did, the man took notice of her. He seemed bewildered by her.... everything.

Hello, little one“ the man said. Delilah was about to reciprocate the greeting, until she was swiftly lifted and examined. She was unsure that this was appropriate for a first meeting, especially without proper permissions being given, or even a warning. „Are you a Pycon or some kind of animated toy?

"Pycon." Delilah answered after thinking for a moment, and taking in the swift adjustment in height. Almost immediately after Delilah thought she had acclimated, the man introduced himself saying

I’m Lucas... And I’m a fortune teller, among other things. I was also a squire, a bodyguard, a bartender and a teacher. And who might you be?“ And again Delilah took a moment to process what, the man who was now Lucas, had said. Once thoroughly confident that she had retained everything said, she finally replied to her holder "I'm Delilah." she said as her hand slowly turned from her usual boxing gloved fist into a small hand, fingers and all, which she held out for Lucas to shake. Though she quickly realized that his hands were currently occupied with holding her. "I have not been as many things as you have, and at this point I am not sure sure I plan to be! So far I am only the boxer. Though I haven't found out how I'll make my way with it, boxing is all I know." She had however, almost forgotten why she had come here in the first place, with this interesting introduction and all. "I found a note at Mr. Mathias' party about fortune telling. Would it be too much to ask for my fortune to be told?"

Delilah's Fortune

Postby Lucas Arias on July 14th, 2013, 3:15 pm

„Oh“, Lucas made as the tiny girl informed him that she was a Pycon. „I’ve never talked to a Pycon before. Do Pycons breathe? Do you have to eat and drink and sleep?“ While he waited for her answer, he carried her back into his room and put her onto the table in front of the window so that he could see her better. As she introduced herself to him, his eyes widened. He hadn’t known that Pycons had names! That was amazing!

„Hello, Delilah“, he greeted her and shook her tiny, tiny hand. „Are you really a boxer? That’s a rather strange occupation for a Pycon, even stranger than a squire who’s decided to become a fortune teller. Who do you fight? Other Pycons? Rat and mice? You know, I think there are quite a few people who’d like to watch a Pycon box because it’s something new and unusual. You just need a good manager!“

He grinned at her. He had just had an idea, an idea that was even better than sticking a Pycon into a cage and making her his pet. He could gather a group of Pycon fighters and make money with them!

„And of course I can tell you your fortune. I’d offer you a chair, but since you are so small, how about you sit down on Master Anselm’s oracle book while I try to find out what the future has in store for you?“ He pointed at a thick book that was lying on the table.

„Do you have any specific questions? I’ve never told a Pycon her fortune before, so I’m not sure if I’ll be any good at it.“

Delilah's Fortune

Postby Delilah on July 14th, 2013, 5:58 pm

"Well, Pycon do sleep, but we eat clay, not meats or plants." She was somewhat enjoying all the attention and questions that Lucas was answering her. The fortune teller talked as if she was one of the most interesting things he'd seen, though Delilah was sure that someone who had done so much surely must have seen stranger, more intriguing things. When she was questioned about her boxing she really took a moment to think it over.

"I don't really fight anybody. Well anybody in specific, and in that case I fight everybody! Even if I know I'll lose, I suppose there's something to learn from being beat. I've never actually fought an animal of any kind, or a person for that matter. My coach wouldn't let me actually hit anyone or anything but punching bags. He was also working on a way to make money with boxing, but he umm..... left before he could really do anything with it." a sad look crosses her face and she pauses for a moment to think. She then takes a deep breath and continues telling her story. "And that's why I box! It's like the coach left me this wide open door and I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I'm still not incredibly good at boxing though, and so I am unsure of where to start with all of this."

Delilah looked like she was about to continue, but wouldn't say anything. After a moment she let it go, realizing she had begun to ramble and that the fortune teller was most likely not interested in hearing every detail of her adventures so far.

"Though I do need a new coach and manager. If you know anyone who can help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated. The little pycon said this with a bit of enthusiasm and gave Lucas a big smile, noticing that he was smiling too. It seemed that the fortune teller smiled a lot, and she liked that too. Right then Delilah decided after the fortune telling, she would make it a point to see Lucas again and talk more about.... whatever there was to talk about.

Delilah hopped up onto the book that was offered to her, and sat down leaning on her left hand, one leg crossed and one leg laying flat on the book. When she was asked if she had any questions, she thought for a moment, and decided "I don't have anything specific I want to know, I just want to know something!"
