"That would be splendid!" Brodon clapped, reverting back to Pavi. "I'm unsure if Jared is still wishing to depart with the expedition, and Abase doesn't have much better skills in common than I."
He resumed his slow common, turning to Eleret. "I was just...say..ing...at Delani, my hoping for a..."tutor"?..Is that right?...Not a formal...teaching person...I mean I can not be for paying lessons. Perhaps I am...being able...for teaching back...to you...something useful."
He listened to them speak of distant lands. Zeltiva sounded exotic to him, Denvali as well. Syliras he had, of course, heard of. "Mura"and "Konti" were familiar, though at first he forgot which referred to the place, and which referred to the race. Brodon had met a Konti in Yahebah. He was not sure if he should mention it, though. If the one he met was Eleret's friend, she would probably not have a flattering account to relate about him, with the misunderstanding that had occurred.
"I am not knowing if my story...sharing...of Yahebah is being much...good for hearing. I did not be able for learning the Shibur, the language. I nearly did die crossing the Burning Lands after my friend, Vins...and I..." he paused, his look becoming distant as he thought of his old friend. "Oh...we were chased from Ahnatep by...bad men, the many-armed men. I am hopefully...thinking that I...uh...hope..." He grimaced, knowing this sentence had not worked well. He waved it off as unimportant. "I am hoping Lacerta is not being a bad man al...WOMAN..." he blushed furiously. "bad woman...also...like the men."
"I am sorry..ful...They were good enough at me...The Pressorah...she is like being a queen...She was good to me for finding false guards doing no good things in town. They, it was, that chased my friend and I from town...Well...friends of them, anyway."
He suddenly winced at the thought that he had gone on long enough about his misadventures in Eyktol for now. The two women had been about discussing bunking arrangements before he began his ramblings. And, he didn't want to exhaust all his topics of conversation too soon. There was a whole boat trip to consider. He felt sure new topics would arise once they reached Syka.
"Carrying an angry load, keeps you on an angry road."
