54th of Summer, 513AV The night was quiet, except for the loud shouts and laughs resonating from The Silver Sliver Tavern as it's occupants enjoyed copious amounts of ale after a hard days work, most drinking themselves into a stupor because, why the heck not? The men and women of Ravok enjoyed the tavern's atmosphere oblivious to most of their surroundings, meanwhile from a dark corner of the tavern a pair of amber eyes watched in silence. Raven had been sitting there for quite some time observing the citizens as they became progressively more inebriated and rowdy simultaneously, scanning the crowd for easy targets, a girl had to do what she had to do. The fair, dark haired, red lipped thief wore her usual tight black leather attire, corset, pants and boots, all of which served to aid her in her movement, stealth and more importantly seduction. She may have been fairly good at sneaking but she knew her greatest weapons were her feminine wiles and she made good use of them, using them to charm and distract would be victims. It had been at least two bells since Raven had arrived in The Silver Sliver Tavern and there she had been sitting silently, lying in wait for the perfect prey. Her eyes widened in anticipation as she noticed a group of three very drunk men struggling to get to their feet before slowly shuffling toward the exit and out of the tavern. The men were swaying clumsily as they walked, each one more wasted than the next as the drunk led the drunk. Raven calmly got up from her the secluded area where she'd been sitting and casually exited the tavern in no hurry to catch up to the men. As she left the tavern she noticed the three men stumbling in the distance and made her way toward them. As she got closer, looking around every few moments to ensure there were no witnesses she went into sneak mode, half crouching and stepping carefully so as to not alert the men to her presence. As she followed them, Raven made sure to hide every chance she got, ducking behind random crates and buildings as she closed the gap between her targets and herself. Eventually after a short while of pursuit the men came within arms reach, they sang loudly as they walked, the drunkards completely oblivious as to the shadow that was stalking them. Raven was like a predator on the hunt, only her prey was not the drunk men but rather their pockets, their hard earned money was her food, her sustenance. Finally Raven gathered up the nerve to reach forward and into the left most man's right pocket, 'Damn! Empty!' she cursed mentally before trying his second pocket which was also empty to her disappointment. Next was the middle man as she reached her hand carefully into his left pocket once again finding nothing but air. Raven was quickly beginning to get frustrated as she moved on to searching the next pocket, her hand met with a small bulging bag, jackpot. Slowly and carefully she plucked the bag from the man's pocket, quickly ducking behind a stack of nearby crates in case the man decided to turn around. There she hid for a few moments as she pondered whether or not to risk searching the third man as well, "No, don't get greedy." she told herself in a silent whisper, there was a good amount of mizahs in the coin sack she had just stolen from the man and it would have to do for today. She sighed softly in relief as she stood up and began walking casually away from the crime scene, the drunk men oblivious and too far to spot her now as she strolled happily back toward the tavern for a drink. Raven had barely taken ten steps when she heard an angry voice shouting at her from the distance. "There! THIEF!" the voice yelled followed by a series of rushed footsteps. Raven sighed in frustration and without warning burst into a run, the men were way too far to have gotten a good look at her, especially in the dimly lit isles of Ravok. As she ran she took corner after corner, quickly ducking and weaving around in an attempt to escape. More than once Raven was faced with dead ends that lead only to the lake and each time she growled in annoyance before back tracking and trying a different route, the men were slowly gaining on her with each dead end. As Raven ran she noticed another dead end ahead of her, their was a large space between the walkway she was on and the one across from it, several feet with only water in-between. "This should work...if I make it." she said to herself as she sped up, eyes focused on the jump ahead, the angry men now only feet away from her as they shouted angrily for her to stop, the realisation that they'd been robbed seemed to have forced their minds into a sober state. As Raven reached the end of the walkway she kicked of, jumping as far as she could, her hand reached out as her body only just crossed the threshold and she landed with a soft thud on the opposite walkway immediately breaking into a roll and then back onto her feet as she changed directions and began running once again. She had a self satisfied smirk on her face as she ran, now convinced she'd escaped her pursuers. Only a few moments had passed when Raven heard the familiar angry shouts of the men in the distance, to her dismay they had found her once again, they must have known the city quite well. She looked back to see the men very fair in the distance and just as she turned her gaze forward again she noticed something massive blocking the path ahead. She tried her hardest to stop but at the speed she had been running she was way too late to hit the breaks now as she slammed into the large unmoving obstacle, bouncing off of it and onto the ground. Raven shook her head confused as to what had just happened and looked up, only to see a gargantuan man towering over her. She just layed there too dizzy to move as her head was filled with a loud ringing which could only have been a result of their collision. "That hurt. she said out loud, although it was directed at herself rather than the figure that she had run into...literally. |
