PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
ImageErio was always the runt of the litter. He is scrawny and small, even by Inartan standards, with his face still carrying baby fat in such a way that hints he shall carry it well into adulthood. Many think that Erio couldn't be older than ten, at the latest, but looks can deceive.

His skin is as pale as his hair is red, a telltale sign of the sky blood that runs in his veins. His eyes are a striking gold, flecked with green - another uniquely Inartan trait. He pays little attention to his personal hygiene (and most other social contracts), so at most times you will find him with matted, messy hair and a dirty face. Thankfully, Erio will seek out a bath when he starts to get pungent.

His clothes are that of every yasi, wearing little more than a bryda indoors and adding a shirt and katinu while outdoors. These garments are colored in unremarkable brown and white hues; it almost seems as if they were chosen to help Erio blend into the background.

Erio is a strange child. He has a unique way of looking at things, always finding outside-the-box solutions and seeing things as how they actually are. As a result, he cares little for social norms or etiquette, instead doing things his way. With a clever foresight bordering on prophecy, supplemented an air of mystery, at times it isn't clear if Erio actually knows the arcane or if he is simply making it up as he goes.

Erio prefers the role of watcher, which has led some to believe he is antisocial. Such is not the case - Erio simply does not search out for social interact. He is more content to simply watch things unfold. However, if one were to approach him, they would find the child quite accommodating...in a way. Erio has an annoying tendency to speak in riddles simply for the sake of speaking in riddles, which can become quite frustrating for those he is conversing with. Nonetheless, Erio seems to have a gift for speech that keeps those around him intrigued.

For all his insight, however, Erio is a very bad judge of character. Perhaps it is his age or relative lack of social interaction thus far, but Erio is far too trusting. He will accept every flimsy excuse, every lousy explanation. It's not because he can't find out what is truly going on; it's because he chooses not to.


CHARACTER HISTORY
Erio's life began in turmoil and confusion, a half-remembered experience of pain and suffering. Though he was left in a nursery as an orphan, at times memories spring up of a time before that, a time in which he actually had someone to love him.

However, those days have long, long past.

After he was discovered, Erio was sent to one of the nurseries of Wind Reach, where he quickly proved how different he was from all the other children. At age eight, he was moved yet again, ths time sent to the youth section of the city to begin the life of a yasi. It was around this time that Erio first began seeing the Gray Lady. It started simply enough; an encounter here, a whisper there. However, before long the Gray Lady begin appearing every time Erio was alone. While the Gray Lady never harmed Erio in any way, her presence still influenced Erio into seeking out the Shrine of Those Who Have Passed in an attempt to better understand the spirit world, where he soon became a protégé of the konti spiritist known as Whisper.

And so time has turned. His elders have looked on worryingly as Erio has aged, as the boy seemed to excel in none of the traditional Inartan arts. No eagle bonded to him, and nor did he seem fit for the art of glassworking. While he had some skill with the shortbow, he never seemed eager to pursue a hunting lifestyle and, as of his fourteenth birthday, none have taken Erio as an apprentice. His oncoming birthday seems to be dreaded by everyone except Erio, who is content to wander the streets of Wind Reach and visit the Shrine of Those Who Have Passed while not attending to his bendi.

Description: The Gray Lady first appeared a couple years ago, right when Erio first moved into his new quarters in the Youth Section of Wind Reach. The origin of her name is obvious - everything about this ghost is gray, from her hair to the color of her knee-length dress. The only part of her appearance that is not gray is her eyes, which would be a startling shade of green if they weren't perpetually mired in tears. The Gray Lady does not speak often, instead communicating through hand signals and body motions. However, due to the inaccuracy of such methods her motives still remain unclear. She seems uniquely attached to Erio; she only materializes when he is alone, and at times seems to be trying to tell him something.
