Character Name: Genryuu Senkou

Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Birthday: 41st of Fall, AV 494
Birthplace: Unknown

Appearance:

Standing at 5’8” in height, Genryuu has a tanned complexion through all his years of training under the hot sun and through his recent travels. His face was not handsome, but could be considered fair, with his jagged cheekbones that joined to a sharp chin. His eyes were a dark chocolate brown, with a slight twinkle in them most of the time. His nose was ever so slightly crooked from one particularly nasty sparring session, and his hair was short and stubbly, due to having recently renounced the ways of a monk and allowing his hair to finally grow out. His face was always set in a ready smile, and yet hidden beneath the smile and his loose robes was the physique of a trained and deadly warrior.

Character History:

Genryuu Senko had been abandoned as an infant at the steps of the Opal Temple. Growing up there, he had learned the craft of medicine from a man in the Temple that most addressed as the Abbott. The Abbott was not really the master of the Temple, but most Healers at the Temple addressed him as such out of reverence and due to his being a monk. Genryuu also learned the martial skills of unarmed combat and weapons such as the quarterstaff from the Abbott who may have once been a warrior monk, Been quick on his feet, intelligent in mind, and possessing a rare natural talent, he had progressed quickly past the ranks of his fellow students till he was about to be officially ordained as one of the Healers of the Opal Order, as long as he gets his Mark of Rak'keli

However, around that time, Genryuu had grown disillusioned with the Temple's inflexible attitude towards using force only for self defence. He believed that the all skills he had learned, both combat and medicine, were gifts that should be best used to help others in need. Constantly outspoken against the Temple's policies on peace, Genryuu eventually decided to leave the Temple after losing favor in the eyes of Rak'keli, renouncing the ways of the conventional Opal Order healer. He began travelling far and wide, hoping to help people with his skills in combat and medicine. He soon arrived in the lands of Sylira, after spending some time in the lands of Nyka studying unarmed combat, and settled down for the time being at Syliras.

Because of Genryuu's decision to renounce his oaths as a healer of the Opal Order, he vowed to never return to Konti Isle nor to ever rely on the powers of Rak'keli but instead on his own medical abilities.

Intervention for Better Enjoyment!

Hey! As the name says, I'm here to make sure you don't make a fool of yourself! Nyka's monks are not of the warrior monastery variety, nor do they have complicated ranks. There are no abbots, no big synchronized martial arts training sessions, and no lessons in medicine. Those who wish to become monks have to already have those skills before applying.

Which brings me straight to another unfortunate hole: Nyka's monks never take infants, as babies are useless to them. It's something you volunteer for. The same with their exile. Monks can retire relatively freely, and do when they can no longer do their duty.
