Flashback The Innocence of Youth (Raven/Wade/Savio)

[Raven Nightfoot]

Raven flashed each one of the boys a smile as they introduced themselves, Savio and Wade, two handsome youths. She was glad that they had saved her from the usual day spent in silence and solitude, some social interaction might be good for her. The dark haired young boy, Wade, was practically jumping up and down in anticipation for their little game, which only made her smile brighten more. Then Savio had agreed to play along with them and everything was set. "Excellent." she said turning toward him, a mischievous smirk crossing her face. She flashed Wade a sly wink before poking Savio in the bicep, "You're it!" and with that she was gone, her lithe form quickly sprinting away. She couldn't help but giggle girlishly as she ran to put some space between herself and Savio, the game made her feel like a little girl again, playing with the other little kids. She wondered if Wade had escaped in time to avoid being tagged, he may have been short but he looked as if he was very fast.

[Wade]

Wade's smile nearly split his head in half as the acrobat gave his sweeping bow. "Savio," he said to himself, wondering what feats of intrigue and daring Savio had attempted in his life. When the acrobat agreed to play tag, Wade clapped with glee. This was too good to be true. He didn't have to work today, he'd managed to escape his sister, and now he was playing tag with an acrobat!

The woman tagged the acrobat and took off, giggling. Wade's smile disappeared as he immediately went all serious, realizing that he was now the closest target to the It. He took off as fast as he could in the opposite direction of the girl, hoping that the acrobat would be too occupied with the one who had tagged him to go after the little boy. He slapped the wall as he ran, as if his arms grabbing at the thick stone made him go even faster.

He stayed along the wall for now, confident that he was far too fast a runner to be caught up to. He didn't know that because the older children had much longer legs they could easily bridge the gap. All he knew that he was a much faster runner than his sister, who was older than him, and that made him the fastest kid n the world. He decided to stop and spin about and see if the acrobat had decided to follow him or the girl.

[Savio]

Savio didn’t have much time to think before he felt Raven’s finger jab at his bicep announcing that he would be the first time to give chase. That was fine with Savio. He enjoyed the challenge. He watched as his two new found friends went in separate directions. His attention was caught by the boy, though. Savio didn’t want the kid to end up running too far end up alone, and Raven looked like she could take care of herself until Savio could come back for her.

So with a wide grin, Savio took off after the boy. He kept his pace slower than normal to allow the kid to think he was faster than he really was. Savio knew that he was much faster than the boy, but it wouldn’t be fair if Savio just ran up and caught the child. After a short while boy paused and looked back to see Savio charging after him.

Savio decided to show off a little by jumping into a simple cartwheel while still heading towards the boy, and the followed the cartwheel with a simple rolling tumble before springing to his feet again right before he got to the boy. Savio had the feeling that the kid would be so stunned by savio’s tricks that he would forget about running anymore and just watch. If his planned had worked, he would tag the boy and take off running. Only running fast enough to stay just out of the kids reach, but close enough to allow the boy to think that he was on the brink of catching Savio.

As Raven ran away from were the game had started she quickly approached a nearby wooden fence which blocked her path. Legs sprang as she jumped into the air, hands touching down on the fence as her legs swung over and she landed gracefully on the ground. She turned around, a small smirk on her face, proud of her perfectly executed vault to find that she was not being pursued at all, she was a bit disappointed but she knew it was just a game and nothing to be taken seriously. She saw Savio chasing after Wade in the distance, running along the length of the city wall. Raven hopped onto the wooden fence and waited for them to come in her direction. She played with a few strands of her hair as she waited, amber eyes watching eagerly for her fellow tag-mates. "Run Wade run!" she yelled cheering the young boy on, her hand cupped as she did.

[Wade]

Wade was about to turn about and speed away from the man now that he knew he was the fastest of the group by far. Then, suddenly, the man paused midstride and spun into an amazing cartwheel that stopped Wade in his tracks! Wade stared, mouth agape for a moment at the simple trick, and then started jumping up and down and cheering for the acrobat.

Then, Savio's hand fell on his shoulder and he recognized the deception. He roared in protest and swung his arm out to catch Savio as he retreated. The acrobat was too agile and somehow evaded Wade's devastatingly quick jab but Wade was not finished yet. He chased after him for a moment but somehow could not gain any ground on the impossibly fast man. Wade decided that he must be super human.

He stopped as he recognized that it was futile to try to catch up to an acrobat. He looked around and tried to spot the easier target; the girl. He found her, perched up on a fence some distance away. She was safely laughing and cheering from her safe position. Wade set his teeth into a wide smile as he curved off and ran straight towards the girl.

He laughed as he came near and he lunged at the fence. Both of his hands reached for the girl as he desperately tried to tag her.

[Savio]

Savio laughed as he bolted away from the young boy. Wade had kept pace with his elder for a short while before realizing that there was another tag partner. Savio grinned as he watched as the young boy went for Raven. Savio kept running, and easily jumped the fence by using his arm as a fulcrum point as he swung his body over easily. He would keep up with Raven if she ran from Wade; offhandedly challenging her to a small race while still handicapping themselves so that Wade didn’t get left behind.

Raven laughed and cheered on as she watched the boys chase unfold in the distance, she saw Savio do a cartwheeling only to tag a distracted young Wade and dart off immediately afterwards, to which she laughed more. "That was sneaky." she told herself as she watched the boys running. Soon enough the game had changed direction and both boys were now heading towards her(and the fence. The change of target had happened so fast that Raven only had a few moments to hop off the fence in an attempt to escape being tagged by Wade, but alas, before she could dart off she felt his hand reach over the fence and tag her upper arm. "Ah, you got me!" she yelled in mock anguish. Raven was about to hop back over the fence and give chase to Wade when she saw Savio overcome the obstacle with ease and land on her side of it. A sly smile spread across her face as she darted off to chase him, not exactly sprinting but still running fast enough although Savio always seemed to be just out of her reach.

[Wade]

Wade smiled in triumph as he managed to tag his prey just when she had recognized her danger. He laughed happily as he leaned against the fence. He had narrowly gotten her and she was now a little way from the fence, leaving Wade in a safe zone where he knew he could always outrun her if she came close.

"Oooo!" Wade said as Savio vaulted the fence in one smooth, crazy motion. Wade clapped again and was once again enchanted. Savio kept running and Raven came right behind him with the obvious intention of tagging him. Wade shouted a warning to the amazing acrobat before he clumsily forced his way over the fence.

Wade took off after them as he realized he was going to be left behind by the two of them. He shifted into his fastest gear, guaranteed to catch up to the older, slower people, and the ground below him was eaten up by his short rapid strides. The wind whipped around him as it tried to keep up. Wade was laughing all the while.

[Savio]

When Savio realized he had become the prey, he flashed the pretty girl a teasing smirk as he dodged her attempts at grabbing at him. Even though he was a novice acrobat, he was still light on his feet. He skillfully turned around where he was facing her, still stepping backwards to keep distance from her.

He laughed each time he dodged her swift hands, until he feigned to the right. If she grabbed for him, he would twist his body around to avoid her grasp and place himself behind her and then take off in a sprint back towards the fence.

As he reached the boy, he would grab Wade and haul him over his shoulder and run with the boy so that they could both escape the young woman. But by carrying Wade, he was slowed down considerably.

The chase continued and the space between Raven and Savio didn't seem to be getting any smaller. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't seem to breach the gap, Raven may have been more lithe and light but Savio was evidently faster, since he remained out of reach. Although she preferred being chased to chasing, raven was still enjoying herself greatly, a smile plastered on her face as she ran. "How are you so fast?" she yelled at the young acrobat ahead of her. She was beginning to get a little tired as the pair ran at high speeds and Raven decided it was time to get more serious. "Here I come!" she shouted as her run turned into a series of short burst sprints in attempt to tag the speedy young man. Each time she lunged at him he dodged her, time and time again, but no matter how swift she was she couldn't seem to tag him. Frustration was beginning to spark in Raven's mind, she was competitive and she liked to win, so it was to be expected. She saw Savio making for the right and decided it was the perfect chance for her to tag him and so she lunged, no, she dove toward him. Her legs sprang out as she flew through the air, her hands outstretched in an attempt to make contact with her prey. Unfortunately for Raven it had all been a trick, Savio and feigned right and instead spun left. She watched with disdain as she flew past him, seemingly in slow motion and landed on the ground rolling over and back onto her feet before coming to a skidding stop. Dust rose from the ground as she stood there trying to catch her breath as she watched Savio dart off back toward Wade and the fence. After only a few seconds Raven burst back into a run in their direction, she saw Savio pick up Wade and run off with him, a giggle escaping her lips as she saw the smile on the young boy's face. "I'm going to get you!" she teased as she chased after them, laughing all the while.
