Yumi sighed as she turned into her human form and sat on Kujyaku's bed. She was told yesterday that Kujy was accepted in her hunting job and was going out to practice today with her new short bow that Yumi bought for her two days ago, as a gift. After all, she did have enough money after moving in with her new friend, so it was the least she can do. But she felt kind of lonely... Normally she would just stalk Kujy like anyone else she had an interest in, but the terrain was different here compared to Ravok, so she'd be caught within a few minutes. So she let her mind drift as she tried to think of what to do today. Maybe she could go to the library? Even if she could just barely read, she knew enough to understand. It sounded like a good idea, but she didn't want to just read for fun-not today atleast-she wanted to boost her skills like Kujy was, so she can be a little more useful. But what should she learn? Would she even be able to understand what she's reading? She shrugged, thinking that she should get a book on something simple so even if she didn't understand everything, she would know enough. She jumped off the bed wanting to get started now and ran to the door, then paused realizing that she was still naked-which Kujy warned her not to go outside in her human form no matter what time of day it was-and she was forgetting to get bring that big book on Astrology to... What was the name of it?
After yanked her clothes off the chair and hurridly put them on, she ducked her head under Kujyaku's bed and pulled out the book. "Book of Astronomy, remember, Book of Astronomy..." She said to herself, knowing she had trouble remembering what some (Written) words were, she muttered 'astronomy' a few more times as she looked directly at the word before picking up the hifty book and walking out of the cottage. On her way she nearly dropped it a few times, either from someone bumping into her shoulder or almost loosing her grip simply from its weight, but she did make it inside the library before she lost her grip entirely and it slipped out of her nubbing fingers; making a rather loud THUMP as it hit the ground she winced when a few people shooshed her and smiled appologencly before picking it up again and placing it on the table. She shook her hands a bit and looked at some of the other books that were also on the table. "Un...armed.. combate?... Combat." She was struggling to read the cover, "Book.. on... unarmed... combat fighting moves." She poundered over weather she should learn this skill.
Maybe she should just take it for her and Kujyaku to learn together. Yumi was fine as long as she could turn into her tiger form but as a human she had the average strength of a teenage girl, and Kujy was even weaker than her so it would benift the both of them to learn from it later, but not now. She picked it up and moved it under her right arm before she looked at the other books on the table.
The others were mostly story books, as far as she could tell. She walked to the shelves and searched for something to learn hands on; after several minutes she pulled out a book almost as heavy as the astrological one "Acrobatics... training." She remembered back when she was younger how she'd watch people do all kind of tricks: bending all kinds of ways, being able to fall from really tall highets, and doing all kinds of amazing things. She looked through it, a little surprised how simple it was worded, but happy because that would make it easier to read through before looking for a useful skill book.
◾Combatants: Whether in hand-to-hand or armed combat, acrobatics can help a person evade, confuse, or simply add their own unique style to any fight.
◾Freerunners: Using the landscape to get from A to B is not only a sport for creative athletics, but an important tool for messengers, thieves, and other stealth artists.
Maybe this skill can be useful....
Shifting the book under her arm to her hands and placed it under the other one. After making sure it was ok to take them she hurried back to the cottage and put the combat book on the bed, then flipped through the Acrobatic book. She grinned excitedly seeing the things she'll be able to do once she starts training and the skills she'll be able to improve on or learn while she is. She'll be so much more effective as a hunter as well!
With the book in hand she ran out the cottage and to Mirahil Pass to start training. This was going to be so much fun!
