Nassella was very pleased with how her night was going so far. She had met her first kelvic and was still probing it for new information. Mino was very compliant and kind, and Nassella was beginning to enjoy her company as she wrote in her journal and sipped her water. While she was writing, she felt something strange in the back of her mind that caused her to look up. She looked around the room, though nothing really seemed to be amiss. She shrugged it off and continued to write. Though again the feeling entered her mind, and she looked up from writing again. Downstairs stories were still being told, food being eaten, and company being enjoyed. Though something felt odd to her, something irked her. When she looked at all the patrons upstairs, she noticed one in particular, who shot her a momentarily angry look. Nassella pretended not to notice, and acted as though she was looking at something else on the other side of the room. She waited until the man looked at her again, and she met his eyes. Nassella smiled a sheepishly raising a few fingers in a lazy wave. Though something about the man made her feel like she didn't belong there. Nassella definitely didn't want to make any enemies, and it was only her second day in the city. She decided to ignore the man, not wanting to offend him, and returned to her writing. She waited for the more answers from the kelvic, forming new questions already. Though the man across the room stayed in her mind, like an itch that won't go away. Maybe she should talk to him? But then again, what if she had already made him dislike her. Worry and anxiety was beginning to swell up in her chest. She started scribbling even more furiously in an attempt to distract herself. |
