Physical Description
Standing a only 5'8", Amelika has a fairly boyish build, with a modest chest and narrow hips. With an even thinner waist, she owes most of her 143 pounds to the strong muscles in her legs and arms. Her skin is permanently tan from life in the Sea of Grass, nearly flawless except for her windmarks and the numerous scars covering her legs, which are often kept bare with shorts or a skirt. As a member of the Diamond Clan, she wears mainly white clothing that is loose enough to let her move easily and doesn't attract the sun. Her long hair falls in dark brown cascades past her shoulders and down to her lower back. One notable trait about the Drykas girl is that she always has perfect posture, with her back strait and her shoulders back slightly. Though her hair is naturally almost black, it had been bleached lighter by the sun. Amelika's face is round and pretty with soft features and large, pink lips. She would be beautiful if it wasn't for her constant solemn expression and the cold, distant look in her dark brown eyes.

Character Concept

Amelika was born to be a Stormwarden, or so her father claimed on the night she was born, in the middle of the season's most powerful storm. From the time she could speak, she was taught to worship and pray to Zulrav, the god of storms. Her father was stubborn and insisted that one day she would get a gnosis mark, but by the time she bonded with her stryder, she had still showed no other signs of being favored by any god or goddess. Jessawa reserved to training his daughter to be a fighter like his sons. Raised to be a priestess but trained to be warrior, Amelika is a solitary woman who is mistrusting of many and is currently just trying to survive in the Sea of Grass while keeping as far under the radar as possible.

Personalilty
Because of her race, Amelika is proud and never had fear to voice her opinions. Though only a young woman, she projects an air of wisdom and confidence. Though she has no qualms about expressing what is on her mind, she is typically an observer rather than a leader; Amelika believes that developing skills on your own, with the occasional guidance of a more experienced hand, is the best way to learn. Large groups tend to make her uncomfortable, solely because of their unpredictability, but being the object of focused attention is worse. Though she has trained nearly her whole life to master her skills, the Drykas is uncommonly humble and would rather blend in than flaunt her talents. It is always wiser not to show off in front of potential enemies, anyway. She feels comfortable within the clan, and rarely has need to doubt her security, but from spending time alone Amelika has developed a habitual tendency of always checking her surroundings for danger. When meeting strangers, she prefers to carefully observe their interactions and reactions figuring them out like a puzzle before becoming close with them. For this reason she doesn't have many friends, but with those that she has created a bond it is almost unbreakable. Her quiet behavior and preference for solitude are somewhat of an anomaly among her race, but despite that she is quite accepting of those she deems as worthy. Still a young and inexperienced woman herself, what little advice she does have to offer is hesitant, but always honest. Once she opens up, there is little filter between her mind and her mouth, and though she doesn't divulge all private thoughts, Amelika has no hesitancy to tell people what she thinks. But it takes a lot for Amelika to truly drop her guard. Slowly, she has become more comfortable with being surrounded by people at all times. Still, the free-spirited young girl makes frequent trips out into the wilderness in order to maintain her sanity,.

The night Aislin went into labour with her second child, her screams of pain could barely be heard over the crashing and roaring of the wind and thunder outside. It had been pouring rain for two days strait, and the longer they stayed on such low ground the more likely it was that they were going to be caught up in the flood water that was slowly making it’s way to their level. Jessawa was determined that his child would not be born in a caravan, but on the earth that would provide for the child for the rest of it’s life, as all her siblings had been. The mother’s screams subsided to the crying of an infant as the tiny little girl opened her mouth for the first time, letting out her own piercing wails into the spring sky. After that, she was quiet for the rest of the night, and in the morning the sky had cleared to a light drizzle, allowing them to finish packing everything up to move to higher ground. The next day, the rain poured harder than before, flooding the area they had been in with muddy brown water.

Childhood
Amelika's childhood was a secluded one, but she had always thought it was rather un-exceptional. Like any good Drykas, she had learnt to ride before she could even walk. She grew up in the midst of a normal, busy Drykas household, with people constantly coming and going. She played mostly with her older siblings, playing at house, which soon became chores as they got older. She was allowed into the grass around the tent, but only when she was with her mother. This was almost constantly, as shy young Amelika seemed to live within her mother's skirt. What made her childhood particularly interesting was the fact that for most of the year, her Pavillion lived far away from Endrykas, travelling the Sea of Grass on their own.

Jessawa had always been a strong-willed and eccentric man, even before he had taken his position as Ankal. His decision to travel apart from Endrykas had not been taken well by his younger brothers, who at that time decided to seperate and create their own Pavillions. So the young Ankal and his blonge bride moved out on their own, braving the wilderness and creating their own family. Though most members of the camp were originally lost travellers looking for water and shelter, many have stayed and become part of the family. Jessawa's skills as a warrior was also a draw to rowdy young men, looking for the legendary Pavillion that travelled alone in the Sea. They were a wild and diverse crew, always changing, as Jessawa would accept anyone that came across their tents looking for shelter or training. All that was asked for in return was help with daily chores, hunting trips and training with anyone who asked for it. Growing up, Amelika was exposed to and influenced by her father's students, and whenever she could manage to sneak away from prayers or chores, she would sit and listen to the stories that she somehow convinced travelers to tell her.

Finding Jeryko
In the Summer of the fifteenth year Amelika had been alive, her older brothers were both in Endrykas, training at the War Storm Pavilion, and her eldest sister had gone along with them for the first time. Amelika and Elayna were left alone with their mother and a very nearly empty tent for a few weeks until everyone returned. Though it wasn't their tradition for women to be left while just the men left to trade, whenever anyone went to Endrykas from their pavilion it was almost always all men, as there were few women living with them and someone had to stay and cook. Amelika's older sisters had both chosen for themselves the more feminine skills, such as embroidery, cooking, herbalism and healing. Amelika would often join her sisters as they learnt about the herbs and plants that grew in the Cyphrus grasslands, and one day while they were out the girls came upon a herd of wild Cyphrus strider. Being the curious and adventurous girls that they were, the two young girls of course tried coaxing the horses to let them get close and pet them.

The first member of the herd that was brave enough to greet the strangers was a palomino colt that pranced up to Amelika and sniffed her outstretched hand before pushing closer and nibbling on her sleeve. Later that day, she was sitting outside the pavilion in front of a fire, finally done with her chores for the day and taking a little time for herself. As she sat staring blankly into the coals, she didn't even notice the sound of the horse's breathing until it nudged her in the shoulder with it's nose. Amelika quickly spun around, and the palomino colt was trotting away. Shooting a glare at the animal, she stood up, tossed some dirt onto the fire to put it out, and walked into the pavilion. Over the next few days, the yearling continued to return to their pavilion every day, and continued to bug Amelika. He would prance up to her and nip her hair before prancing shyly away, or follow her around while she was doing her chores, knocking things over that she would then have to clean up and playfully prancing away. For thirteen days, this animal annoyed and pestered her.

It wasn't until Jessawa had returned and the young girl went to her father to complain that someone finally realized what was happening. He explained that the reason the young stallion like her so much was because he had bonded with her that day when she was herb collecting. Her father helped Amelika to coax the horse with treats, and that was when she befriended her cyphrus strider, finally growing up and becoming a woman at fifteen. It didn't take long for her to get used to Jeryko's antics, and to this day he is always making life interesting for his rider. Amelika has just decided to accept the fact that it would be easier to teach her horse to fly than to teach him manners.

Leaving
Amelika left shortly after her father died, leaving her oldest brother to take over for them. She had never gotten along well with Athash, and being the only one of her siblings yet to find a spouse she had decided it was time to make her own way in life. Ennan joked that it would never happen, that she would die a cranky old maid or in the yvas. She didn't mind the sound of the latter option.

post creation :
After leaving her pavilion, Amelika found her way safely to Endrykas, with only a little help from a friend she met along the way. Since then, she has lived there for about a year, migrating with the city. Her camp is usually set up near that of the other warriors of the Diamond Clan, and after four seasons she has become comfortable there and thinks of it as her home. When she isn't training, she is usually out of the city, hunting or just escaping with Jeryko into the solitary wilderness.
