29th Day of Summer 513 A.V.

It had taken a considerable amount of care to stave the infections that had developed on Kyo's wounds the gained the week before at the hands of the Mercenary. He realized he still didn't even know the mans bloody name, yet was somehow indentured to his service in exchange for sparing his life...

Kyo hoped that this could lead to doing some work with the man and not simply getting kicked around like a pet, if such were the case...

He let his mind wander at the possibilities of fighting yet again with the man that had been among the first to so thoroughly thrash Kyo. Perhaps this could lead to a mutually beneficial scenario.

Kyo decided it was high time he got up out of bed and had himself a hard drink at the Silver Sliver. He strapped on his gear, and took off out of his apartment, heading to the tavern.

When he arrived he sat down on his usual stool, the barkeep placing a mug filled with the Silver Sliver brew he desired most, kicking back his legs on the adjacent stool and leaning against the wall. Able to see the entire room and bar with his watchful gaze. Kyo had made enemies this last week... He wasn't about to sit with his back to the crowd...

It wasn't hard to find him. The Dhani with the large club and beaten armor was something of a strange fixture in the Silver Silver and among the mercenaries in Ravok. While most tried for years to distinguish themselves to the Ebonstryfe and merchant elect, Kyo was noticeable simply by his stature and attitude. The monster was just that, an unapproachable savage with delusions of humanity held tight in his fake-skin.

When he entered the Silver Silver, Wrenmae paused for a moment, long enough to have Kyo spot him. He made eye contact with the snake, passing through the maze of chairs and tables to the bar where he took a mug of ale back to Kyo's table.

Pulling up a chair, scraping it across the ground, the hypnotist took a seat and swigged the brew, laying it down and folding both hands across each other. Kyo watched him without speaking, much how a snake would observe what it could not tell was prey or threat.

Wrenmae smiled. He hoped Kyo would remember that death could have been freely given last they'd met, but was staved off for a return of service.

"You look well," Wrenmae started, pleased the snake had fought off the infections he'd no doubt had after exposure to Wrenmae. Not that Wren had meant for the Dhani to meet Dira, but if he had...it would simply mean he hadn't been worth the time to leave alive in the first place.

"I've given you time to mend and now you'll begin paying back that life you owe." He followed it with a hand, holding it up between them as if to halt any biting retort the Dhani had prepared. "I have a job for us, if you're interested, but before we go we need to work on your form....frankly I wasn't impressed when we met. You use that club like a tree branch, swinging it around with little intent. Not that I'm an expert in your barbarian weapon, but I'd like to see if you're capable of a little more than you're letting on...if not then you're not worth my time anyways."

This PC has the Blight gnosis. As such, you as a player need to be aware of what that consists of. Wrenmae has an invisible aura that amplifies sickness and disease. Wounds may become infected, small sneezes may become coughing, and a slight fever may become more serious. A nuit's body will also break down faster in the presence of the Blight. These effects may not be immediate, but within the few days following your encounter, the symptoms will manifest. Some sooner than others. I cannot control your character, so creativity will be left up to you. Best wishes and stay healthy!

Kyo saw the man enter into the establishment not a chime after he had sat down with his second mug of Sliver sitting on the table next to him. It was without a doubt the man that had done battle with Kyo several eve's before. the wound on his arm burned with recognition of the brutal battle the two had fought, leaving Kyo the unusual completely one sided loser of the bout.

The man clearly picked Kyo right out of the crowd, making no attempt to conceal himself from Kyo in the least. Even going so far as to establish eye contact. The man swept through the tables then, acquiring a mug of all from the bartender on his way, until he finally pushed a chair up to Kyo's table and smugly sat down across from him.

He took up a ponderous pose Kyo noted, as though evaluating the full extent of Kyo's reaction to his presence, and perhaps also noting his mostly healed wounds; Mostly...

The man smiled and commented saying "you look well".

He then began to speak to Kyo in a very even toned voice "I've given you time to mend and now you'll begin paying back that life you owe." Kyo went to respond but was interrupted but the man's outstretched hand.

The man paused at that obviously meaning for Kyo to now speak for himself. Kyo's eyes had subconsciously narrowed dangerously, he had never had a human speak to him with such open disrespect of his strength or prowess in combat. Though having fought the dangerous man and having lost to him so thoroughly caused Kyo to hold his tongue. The man had kept his word and spared Kyo his life for what it was worth, something most would have not had a second thought of taking.

Kyo spoke then saying. "I have sssuffered many of your wordsss but have heard not of your plot. What do you propossse I do to prove my worth... such asss it isss..."

Kyo would not normally have submitted to such belittling conversation in normal circumstances. But this man did not have the smell of weak prey, he smelled of the predator. Like that of a quick Viper Dhani, weak but blindingly fast and deadly. And Kyo was left with the impression that the man had some level of skill with magic. What kind Kyo could only theorize, but he did not want to try out that theory just yet...

He offered the snake-kin a wink, tapping his knuckles against the table. The bar was crowded tonight, the sort of crowd Wrenmae could see getting lost in. A brawl would trash it, and he'd be held responsible when the dust settled. Instead he sighed and rubbed his back against the hard back of the chair.

"Well," He said to the Dhani, frowning, "I'm going to best you without drawing blood. You're going to do whatever you can to stop me. We'll finish the fight when one yields. I warn you, though. If I draw blood, I will kill you. Be sure to know when to yield. This is a spar, or supposed to be. I will measure your worth and then we will go and perform a little...job. It's not advanced, never was supposed to be. However, I don't want an incompetent slowing me down. So. Show me something interesting and we will begin."

He smiled and sat up sharply, pushing the chair away and walking to the door.

"Follow if you're not too fearful, cold-blood."

Kyo had never been so infuriated by a pathetic human before and let it slide without it ending in that human being swallowed whole... but he knew better, as this man was offering work at a time when Kyo's wallet was more defeated than his pride...

Further still he might again be able to witness some of the combat skills this man had so deftly displayed in their previous bout. Perhaps upon a second viewing he might find some secret to his powers enabling him to gain the upper hand over the man.

He followed him out the door of the tavern, offering no retort or gesture other than a cold stare.

He would gain what he could from this man then toss him to the side, a prolonged relationship could only lead to attempting to kill the impudent human again, and all bluster aside. That is a battle Kyo felt he would likely lose...
