Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

The city was never Silnas' friend, or so it seemed. The beauty distracted her, the friendliness of the people put her on edge, and the confines of the city made her long for the plains beneath her feet. But there was no way she was going to find work wandering the Sea of Grass, bumping into only other Drykas who certainly didn't need her help.
At least the stables were nice, even if the thought of leaving her Strider there still filled her with some amount of dread, she knew that Skytrotter needed her rest, a belly full of food, and a nice grooming. Well, Silnas had attended to the grooming herself, not wanting the stable hands to touch her horse, but she left Skytrotter to eat and have her fill of resting before Silnas located another job.
It wasn't hard to find one, most of the time. The Sea of Grass was near unnavigatable to foreigners, especially those who came to Riverfall for trade and found themselves stranded in the lush city. Silnas began to walk along the road, heading toward the Bazaar, though she usually looped through the city a few times to locate the traders that clearly needed her help. The more desperate they were to get through the Sea of Grass, the more mizas she could make out of it. And no one was more trusted than a Drykas as a guide.
She held her two-headed spear loosely, keeping the bottom tine off the ground as she walked, not wanting to blunt it on the tiles. Her miss-matched eyes scanned the crowds as she loped, always lingering near obvious foreigners and listening in to their conversations, walking away when she found that they would be staying for some days. She needed a job now, her pouch feeling too light for her taste.
She hesitated in front of the Blue Bull, but wiser instincts told her to pass by it. No one who came out of there, human or non-human alike, would have the money to pay her for her services... Nor were they the most pleasant to deal with.
At least it was morning, and there was plenty of day for her to find work. If she had to get pushy, well, that certainly wasn't above her. After all, travelers had a choice to hire her, or have their bones crunched by glassbeaks.
The smart ones chose her. The ones who didn't... Well, sometimes the animals left behind enough of a body for a human to scavenge. Survival of the fittest at its peak.
