The moonlight was abnormally bright in the city scape, creating monsters of the shadow, hiding among the crevices. Not a place full of bright lights and elaborate night life, the citizens of Sunberth stayed in their homes and congregated to the pubs. Safety was in numbers, albiet making crimes easier to committ when you can just disappear from a rioting scene. But despite the danger, the place was still full tonight. Minding her own business in a small corner, Yuri was in a comfortable position. Wooden table chipped on the sides with visible age on it, faded green paint on the legs that provided support. Chatter was the consistent sound in the place, rumors and plans running their course. But laid back, chair leaning against the wall, Yuri was relaxing. Peering through the strands of hair covering her left eye, a young man had slithered through the crowd. He was in front of her, leather armor and basic attire of a mercenary, but did not come off as such a cut throat.
"Hn? Yessss?" she inquired, slowly reaching for the mug on the floor. Her right hand clenched the handle tightly, to use it as a weapon in an emergency.
He had a scar across his bottom left side of the lip, gruffy hair and beard accompanied his grim looks. Broad shoulders, about 6'2 and abnormally large forearms and hands. He was the brawler, enforcer, muscle man, anything else you could think of. Didn't look like a dimwit either, to her pleasure.
"All I am here for is to give you a paid fee and contract. A guy is hiding in the Leywellin mines, pissed off a few folks, ya'know? Slave caravan master gone bankrupt, ya'know? Can't give much past that, you'll get the rest of the sum after a completion," the man just came out bluntly. Not a name, nothing. The purse of coin was thrown into her lap, the weight of it feeling good to Yuri's pockets. Smirk across her face, her reptile eyes peered into the man's.
"I've never been in them, so don't expect anything soon. I got my own methods with things, which involves taking the time to get myself not killed, alright darling?" she chuckled to herself, seductive steps carrying her past the man. It was a short encounter. How he knew of her wasn't of her concern or anything else, just get the job done and make a living was the game.
"Alright, just don't waste time."
"Hahaha, I pledge that it is money well spent, child," she referenced to their massive age difference, herself up in the hundreds compared to the human species. It brought up a bewildered look on his face, guessing himself to be much older in comparison with Yuri's own appearance.
"If only he knew," she thought to herself, coming out of the tavern and skitting across the streets. Quick scuffle of the feet here and there, a few twists and turns, her own cottage was where she decided to sleep on the contract and her own plans.
Preparing everything she needed, Yuri wanted to go light. She'd camp inside the mines, if a safe haven could be found in their. Water was a must, her own armor, she wanted to be ready. Bed roll would be her heaviest thing, along with other basic necessities and tools in her possession to help. After brimming with confidence, a quick detour to the Inn was in order. Yuri would prefer directions, of course.
Once getting them with a silver tongue to the bar tender, she walked outside the Sunberth streets and into the outskirts. She traveled at her own slow pace, keeping to the main roads. Main concern was the monsters and bandits that roamed the wilderness. Keeping her head on a swivel and stopping a couple hundred paces, caution was priority. Yuri knew where she was heading and had a photographic memory to boot.
