Secret :
Hands on her hips, Eshe somewhat resembled his mother for a split second. His mind awhirl momentarily, he brushed the tears out of his lashes and pushed his shoulder blades back to create a taller posture.
He wasn’t weak, yet his display of depressing emotion portrayed a different story. It was so hard controlling his emotions! Lately he had been a tornado of emotional destruction, giving himself more trouble than anything in all his years alive ever had.
It wasn’t a lecture she gave him, but it wasn’t a comfort of soothing words either. Broken down into understandable text for simplicity’s sake, Eshe was telling him to straighten up and defend himself against the wrath of the problems and issues the world provoked upon him. No one had it easy and although people handled situations differently than others, you needed to try your hardest to survive the oncoming issues with strength and determination. Or at least that is how Ollic interpreted it.
I will try to come on top, he thought to himself. I will try for Eshe, because she is my bestest friend. It was cute how she turned that word around. Bestest. That was something that Ollic knew he would cherish as he grew.
“Okay.”
For Eshe.
"I’ll try."
For Eshe.
"I won't let you down."
For Eshe.
"I'm your bestest friend."
For Eshe.
For Eshe. Because I need her.
Everything he said aloud came through his cracked and salty lips in a mere whisper, too hard for anyone to hear, not even himself.
"Okay," he said louder this time and grinned a clumsy grin that played on his mouth with shy confusion. Don't through a snowball at me. He pleaded with utmost sincerity. Please.
"Can you help me make you some hot cocoa?" he asked with a slight cringe, still replaying the turn of events in his head. Over and over and over again.
