Secret :
Story telling time! Ollic has a great one and I'm sure both you and Eshe will love it!

Ollic watched the young girl’s eyes twinkle with delight. He imaged stars shining admits the dark of the night, not a cloud in the sky as the weather was silent and the city was quiet as they waited patiently for what his words would say.

“My father was a wonderful man,” he began closing his eyes as he delved into the story as if he were travelling back in time and living it.

“He was adventurous, caring, intelligent and knew how to treat things right. One day when my father was a young man, he went into town to pick up some vegetables and grain for his family for dinner that night. When he was purchasing his goods, he happened to notice a young woman with beautiful eyes that would change shade like the free flowing wind. He was love struck the moment he saw her that he rushed back to his house and dropped of his goods.

“Coming back, he found her still there, talking with local vendors about a new product that had recently arrived. My father was brave that day and went up to talk to her, but she blew him off. He decided that he needed to win her heart, so he went into the wilderness in search for a flower that would prove his worthiness. The woods are a dangerous place though, and once he was in the depths of it, he found himself face to face with a wolf.

Ollic stopped here for a second and opened his eyes to see that Eshe’s were as round as the moon at its fullest phase. Ollic smiled and closed his eyes slowly again, this time quickening the pace of how he told his story. This was the suspenseful part and he was as into it as his friend was.

“The wolf was huge with dark grey fur and piercing yellow eyes. The first thing my father did was hold his breath and still himself as to not direct too much attention in his direction. The wolf simply stared at him with curious eyes. Adrenaline still pulsing throughout his veins, my father’s bravery had him walking slowly toward the wolf. There was a beautiful violet that stood at the foot of the beast, you see.

“My father was very knightly as he reached down and picked the flower, his eyes closed and his breathing astoundingly slowed. It was so incredible how he did it. He picked the flower right from under the wolf’s nose! And once he was done, he looked up at the wolf and bowed his head to show his respect and peaceful meaning. The wolf did the same! He bowed his head, at least that’s what my father told me.

“When my father returned to the girl he fell in love with, she finally accepted him by taking the flower out of his hands. That’s how my parents found each other. That’s where it all started.”

Opening his eyes, Ollic suddenly took in a large gulp of air. He hadn’t realised that he had told most of his story without breathing within sentences. He also waited.

He waited to see what Eshe would think.

Eshe watched her friend, Ollic's eyes closed as he recalled the tale and began to weave it. He was hypnotizing, the child's own crystalline orbs fixed on him. As she listened, her expressions changed rapidly.

"A wolf!" she whispered, mouth agape and moon-like eyes. Her heart beat frantically as he neared the climax of the story, and Eshe almost saw what was happening. It was as if she were living it, and Ollic looked to be feeling the same. The description of the wolf was enough to make her heart thump faster.

Her friend's eyes opened, and she applauded vigorously.

"I can't believe your dad did that, Ollic! He must've been very brave."

The tiny child's mind was whirling, awed by the story.

"I can't believe your dad did that, Ollic! He must've been very brave." Her words were such as he expected. He was grateful that Eshe had appreciated his story, for it was something dear to him, something he would feel terrible for if his friend didn’t feel the same emotions as he did all the times he had heard it from his father.

Ollic loved to tell stories whether it was to his parents, wilderness animals or even inanimate objects strewn around the house on his extremely lonely days.

The applause he received caused a warm tingling sensation to blossom in his heart as he remembered watching Eshe’s facial expressions change as he told his story. His own teeth were grit through the suspenseful parts, his face lit up near the beautiful ending and he was relieved that his father hadn’t died. He would never have been born if that were the case!

“Did you like it?” Ollic asked Eshe, already knowing farewell what her answer would be. However, before he could get an unneeded answer, his mother came through the door, a gust of visible wind, clumps of fluffy snow and other debris following her.

“Oh,” were her first words. “I didn’t think you’d still be here little girl. I see that you two have been playing nicely.”

Ollic already knew where this was going and a sudden feeling of panic swept into his stomach like a tidal wave coming over the shore line to swallow an entire town of coastal villagers. He didn’t want her to leave; not when the two were just getting to know each other through the casual telling of stories.

“Sorry, but we’re going to have dinner soon and Ollic needs to study. It was nice of you to come over, but I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”

It might have sounded harsh, blunt and cold, a straight forward command to get out of the house, but Ollic knew his mother all too well and took her wish to leave as a natural desire, all the while, as if on auto command, grabbing his friend’s belongings and handing her her coats and gloves and scarves and what not.

“I’m sorry Eshe, but my mom is strict about family only dinners,” and quickly adding all the while using a hushed tone as to not catch his mother’s hawk-like hearing, “and I have to study something every single night.”

Stopping to look into his friend’s eyes, his own turned a wintery blue, stricken with pain and sadness. He hoped that tomorrow he would see her again. He hoped that she wouldn’t forget about him. He hoped that his mother would allow him privilege to play with his newly made friend again sometime soon.

Still holding one of her gloves in his hand Ollic leant in with a forced smile, pain and mild hatred hidden behind his façade. “You won’t forget about me, right?”

Secret :
I only did this because this thread has been going on for a good two months now. I really love roleplaying with you and I hope that in the near future Ollic can run into Eshe in the Catholicon, but I just felt that now would be a perfect time to wrap this up! I hope that's okay...

Just as Eshe was about to tell Ollic how much she loved the story, the door opened and her friend's mother strode in, wind and snow trailing after her. She seemed almost disappointed the child was still at their home, and Eshe blushed. Was she not allowed here any longer?

Ollic had gathered her possessions and explained his mother's strictness, while the tiny girl struggled back into her winter wear. Hopefully she'd see him again.

"It's okay, Ollic! I won't forget about you. I'm going to tell my mommy all about you!"

She gently took the final glove from her friend, slipped it on and darted out of the door. She would never forget Ollic.

OOCNo worries, no worries. This is a monster of a thread, and I was trying to figure out how to wrap it up as well. We should plot more. :)

One Unique Snowflake [Eshe]

Her words were comforting and encouraging. She understood his superior need to keep a friend in his life. He knew that she knew that he was new to this whole "not-loneliness" that he had been going through. He was just happy to have found someone such as herself to befriend.

Everyone else he had met had either been mean, quick to be judgmental, finicky or plain stupid. But not Eshe. She held something valuable and aspiring inside of her crystal blue eyes. He knew she would climb great heights whether it was with himself or not.

"Bye," Ollic whispered as Eshe slinked out the door and closed it behind her in a hushed way.

Ollic, turning toward his mother with a slight glare and through squinted eyes began to question her with his facial expressions. "Why did she have to leave? Dinner won't be until a couple hours still."

His mother was quick to change the subject, trying her best to avoid the topic of friends. She loved how her son was trying to be social, but another side of her hated the idea. Friends would only make her son forgetful, less intelligent and busy.

"Have you studied at all today Ollic?" And whilst walking into the kitchen, "What is all this brown stuff on the floor?"

Ollic sighed, a small boyish grin creeping onto his lips. She would never know. She would never know the fun that he and Eshe shared today. They had a snowball fight, they made snow people, they drank hot cocoa, they told stories and overall, they became friends.

Something both would cherish for a long time.

"Oh, it's nothing," he assured his mother and then he walked down the hallway and into his room.

Notes
This was a fantastic thread. I have to compliment your writing style, Ollic, it was a pleasure to read! Just a couple notes. I am not sure if you made this error on purpose as Ollie is young in this thread, but as I understand it the nervous system doesn't have anything to do with our emotions, as it's solely our sense of movement and touch. Nerve impulses, and commands. When he mentions his nervous system broken, and doctors specializing in nervous systems equivalent to a psychologist, that would be incorrect.

Also, just to note on the structure of a Hold. Keep in mind their door would actually lead out to the Hold itself, but directly outside to the cold. All the Arvintas as in the first two levels of Whitevine Hold, and are like an apartment style. Speaking of structure as well, if you do more threads in the future in Avanthal, please portray Ollie dressed much more warmly. He is not marked by Morwen, and thus does not possess the tolerance of cold they do. He, actually, would be just as cold as Eshe in the snow. Being Vantha may allow him to appreciate, and enjoy the cold a bit more, but his body will be negatively effected by it the same as a full blooded human.

Lastly, lemons and honey. I hesitate to straight-out say they are impossible to find, since I think honey would be plausible in a trading aspect and had by the Winterflame Hold for their meals. Lemons though, would be more difficult, since they would have to come from much further away and then imported in, by which time they would have most likely soiled. Unless they were able to gain them from Wind Reach with the trade routes by their Endal, which are faster, or grow them in their heated greenhouses. I'll have to look into it, but just be careful mentioning things common within the real world, but may be hard to come by in Mizahar, especially Avanthal.

Otherwise, this was great, and I look forward to reading more!
