Secret :
Ollic watched the young girl’s eyes twinkle with delight. He imaged stars shining admits the dark of the night, not a cloud in the sky as the weather was silent and the city was quiet as they waited patiently for what his words would say.
“My father was a wonderful man,” he began closing his eyes as he delved into the story as if he were travelling back in time and living it.
“He was adventurous, caring, intelligent and knew how to treat things right. One day when my father was a young man, he went into town to pick up some vegetables and grain for his family for dinner that night. When he was purchasing his goods, he happened to notice a young woman with beautiful eyes that would change shade like the free flowing wind. He was love struck the moment he saw her that he rushed back to his house and dropped of his goods.
“Coming back, he found her still there, talking with local vendors about a new product that had recently arrived. My father was brave that day and went up to talk to her, but she blew him off. He decided that he needed to win her heart, so he went into the wilderness in search for a flower that would prove his worthiness. The woods are a dangerous place though, and once he was in the depths of it, he found himself face to face with a wolf.
Ollic stopped here for a second and opened his eyes to see that Eshe’s were as round as the moon at its fullest phase. Ollic smiled and closed his eyes slowly again, this time quickening the pace of how he told his story. This was the suspenseful part and he was as into it as his friend was.
“The wolf was huge with dark grey fur and piercing yellow eyes. The first thing my father did was hold his breath and still himself as to not direct too much attention in his direction. The wolf simply stared at him with curious eyes. Adrenaline still pulsing throughout his veins, my father’s bravery had him walking slowly toward the wolf. There was a beautiful violet that stood at the foot of the beast, you see.
“My father was very knightly as he reached down and picked the flower, his eyes closed and his breathing astoundingly slowed. It was so incredible how he did it. He picked the flower right from under the wolf’s nose! And once he was done, he looked up at the wolf and bowed his head to show his respect and peaceful meaning. The wolf did the same! He bowed his head, at least that’s what my father told me.
“When my father returned to the girl he fell in love with, she finally accepted him by taking the flower out of his hands. That’s how my parents found each other. That’s where it all started.”
Opening his eyes, Ollic suddenly took in a large gulp of air. He hadn’t realised that he had told most of his story without breathing within sentences. He also waited.
He waited to see what Eshe would think.
