Spirit's Room, Frostfawn Arvinta Summer 91st, 513 AV "She's not lying down" Spirit told her Uncle, pointing to the pacing Fog. "If she's pregnant, wouldn't she want rest? Why is she moving around a lot?" There was an obvious worried tone in her voice. The dog was close to her birthing due date... and really, the labor should come any day now. She didn't exactly know the signs, but that was what her uncle was for... "That's generally one of the first signs" he stated simply, not even bothering to explain the context. They both knew, anyways. "Next... we want to look out for liquid... basically like she's going pee. Once that happens... grab your friend... the puppies should come in the next few hours after that." The information given, he sat down on the bed and began rubbing Apple's head, almost to calm himself more than anything. Though the man had dealt with several births before - they were always stressful situations. Spirit was doing the same thing with Wind, sitting on the floor with the large dog collapsed on the floor, enjoying a belly rub. The pair then watched Fog intently, for any more signs. It was nearly a bell of pacing, short naps, and more pacing on the hand of Fog before the big show happened. There was a discharge, just like her Uncle had said, of what looked like urine. The younger Frostfawn glanced up at the elder, who nodded. Taking that as a signal, she eased herself from under Wind and darted off to another room. It was a quick jog down the passage to Lirria's room, where she hoped the woman would be waiting. Spirit had to dodge several people, but tried to keep up the pace none the less. She'd known Lirria since childhood, where the two had been good friends, despite the age difference. After talks earlier, they'd decided to work together (along with Spirit's uncle) on the birthing. The more, the better really. Stopping at the closed door, she knocked, and waited patiently for a response. |
