Kujyaku awoke to the soft hum of her small cottage, all was silent, except for the busy streets of all of Zeltiva, which Kujyaku lived a farther ways away from. She quickly changed out of her common clothes she slept in and changed into her wonderful blue silk dress. It always reminded her of her mother, and that made a faint smile come on her face. She was suddenly craving her mothers signature bread, which she had yet to taste again. She had tried to make it before, but she ended up with a black burnt rock. Kujyaku shook off the thought, and continued adjusting her dress. She brushed all the access dirt off her dress and went to the corner where her Shortbow was laying with her arrows she recently bought for herself. Today she knew what she had to do. Today she would do her job, hunting.
Kujyaku went out the door, and started off towards the forest. Kujyaku got lost in thought. She wondered why she picked hunting, of course it was the only job that was suitable for her, with almost all her skill-set in the wilderness, she felt more at home here. Living in Denval, the mountains and the forests all around her, her love for nature would just grow. From picking herbs to killing little squirrels, Kuj would always find something to entertain her in the wild.
Looking around, she went through the streets of Zeltiva. It was relatively quite, being so early in the morning that even the street venders weren’t out. Some sailors were walking past, muttering amongst themselves. Kujyaku looked into the windows of the stores, seeing her reflection. She had her golden skin shimmering faintly, her dress accented her hair which was a nice shade of brown, with a slight hint of gold, almost looking like chestnuts. Her horns were a peach color mixed with white. She loved her horns, as they went straight up in a single trunk, then splits into many littler branches, each small and large. Someone once told her a creature called an Axolotl resembled her horns, but Kuj had never seen one before, she also heard they were gone forever. Kujyaku hoped she killed a few deer today, maybe even more so she could get a good meal.
Kujyaku got to the outskirts of town, as she grabbed her new bow and arrows. She took a deep breathe in. She had been in the wilderness before and gone hunting, but she had never used a shortbow officially. Kuj only brought 10 arrows, as she forgot to buy something to hold the arrows in. She would have to use them wisely, and hopefully skillfully. The air was fresh and the smell of salt and fish from the ports were only slightly lingering. Kuj had slight nervousness in the pit of her stomach, she was excited to finally start her new job.
Gently taking off her bow, she knelt on the ground. Using a technique she found another hunter using, she grasped a fist full of dirt and put it on her face, arms, legs, and chest. This would help her blend in a bit more. Kujyaku then pulled a few sweet smelling branches off some shrubs and weaved them into her horns, the pink color did not do justice in the all green forest. Kujyaku hoped to Syna that no one would see her, as her apparel was quite “eye-brow raising,” she looked like a crazy-women. She got into a crouch, not waisting anymore time.
Kujyaku was waiting in the forest for awhile, when she suddenly heard a rustle around a tree before her. Waiting for it to emerge, she quickly and silently got her bow ready, and drew an arrow. Kujyaku took a deep breathe in, hoping it was a deer, and not something lethal. Suddenly a head peeked out, and galloped out of its security of the trees. It was a moderate sized buck, and his horns must of been 4 feet across. Kujyaku was startled at the size, hoping it didn’t see her as if it did, it was surely trample her. Kujyaku pulled the arrow back, she closed her right eye, hoping it improved her aim. Pulling the string back more, she abruptly let go.
