Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

Thwack! The bowstring released the arrow with the absence of Kaie's hand. The projectile soared through the air toward its target, a formidable buck chewing on some thistles within the trees. The Myrian's chocolate brown eyes lit up as she watched, excited about her shot. The arrow seemed to be right on target headed straight for the buck's throat. That is until it veered harshly left of the animal and straight into the tree trunk off to the side. Kaie cursed under her breath, watching her prey lift its head up in fear before running off. Why couldn't she figure this thing out?

She grumbled silently to herself, trudging over to the tree and tearing the arrow from its flesh. It had all seemed easy enough. Just put the arrow on the string, pull back, aim, and fire. So simple. How could it be going so wrong for her? She placed the arrow back on the bowstring, shaking her head irritably. The male deer had been too large and valuable for her to simply let it go. She was running low on rations and a buck like that would go a long way. Plus the antlers and pelt could be sold back in the city for some serious coin. Regardless, she needed to find her quarry again.

Kaie returned to her stalking stance, remaining low like the jungle predator she was. She tried to move quietly through the trees, careful not to step on loud twigs and what not. No sense in alerting the animal more than it already was. The soil was a bit wet from some rain storm hours ago, but it was drying. Some spots were more wet than others. Lucky for her, a few of the deer's hasty hooves had made clear marks within those damp areas. Tracks for the Myrian to follow.

She walked for some time, following the signs the creature had left behind. Suddenly she reached a large clearing where the tracks had seemed to veer past. The woman peeked through the thick leaves to see what was within the large opening. She scanned the area, recognizing it as Silkwater Lake. It was a place she visited often when she hunted or refilled her water skin. Usually she approached it from a different direction which would explain why she didn't register it immediately. The Myrian was about to forget about the familiar lake all together and follow the tracks, which seemed to be moving parallel with it, when something caught her eye. A splash in the water.

Kaie raised her bow and pulled the arrow back on the string as she walked into the opening. She instantly turned toward where the splash had seemed to original from and paused. A brow arched in surprise and a bit of disbelief, but after a moment she knew her eyes did not deceive her. A familiar face that caused her to lower her bow.

She watched him for a while, wondering what he was doing so far out here? Of course she knew he was a Kelvic and could take care of himself just fine. That was beside the point. The more she observed, the more confused she became. The pale skinned man lifted his bow, pulled back on the string, and fired an arrow into the water. Kaie blinked with a blank expression. It had taken her off guard and she almost stopped to wonder if the man had gone mad. Why would he sacrifice a perfectly good arrow like that?
A gust of wind blew that ruffled his long blonde hair, and she watched him enter the water for a moment and pull a limp, fish from the water. An arrow shot clean through its gut.

Kaie's face lit up with understanding and admiration. It was some sort of fishing. One she had never seen before but caught her interest. She watched him raise the bow again with a new arrow pulled back on the string, aiming at the water. That was when she decided to make her presence known.

"You're pretty damn good with that thing, Solin. I'll give you that," She said with a grin, walking toward him now and hoping she hadn't startled him too badly. Last thing she wanted was an arrow through her own neck. She'd just have to take her chances.
