Season of Summer, Day 70, 513 AV
Jorin felt... wet. Yes, that was the best description. Not just physically, but emotionally wet. Like the water had soaked through his skin and bones and into his soul and now it was this heavy, soaked thing that just wanted to lie down and dry out. Rinya had seemed... hesitant, for a moment, and Jorin wondered what the hesitation he was sensing from her was all about. It didn't matter, because a moment later, she shifted back into being an osprey, and with a few whistles that weren't nearly as ear-piercing as the ones she had flown in with, Rinya soared off into the distance.
Jorin watched her for a few ticks before turning his attention back to Kirsi. She seemed to be wringing out her shirt, and she looked back at him with concern. "Want me to walk with you back to town?" she asked, and Jorin just nodded.
"You know, for a guy who grew up in a city full of sailors, you'd think I'd have learned how to swim before now," he mused, as he smiled and started walking, the irritatingly squishy sound of wet clothes assaulting his ears with every step. Jorin looked up at Syna's face and sighed. Well, at least he'd learned a few things today. In any event, it was time to go home.
And Jorin couldn't get there soon enough.
