Facing Your Demons
Summer 40th, 513 AV; 19th Bell
Location: Outskirts of Zeltiva

Tucked away just within the outskirts of Zeltiva, Ricky sat within the wide space that was made by Burten just last week. The weathered rocks settled into their new placements by now as they outlined the border which made this circle his training ground, Ricky expected nobody to show for he came here alone this evening. He watched the sun as it settled down lazily, engulfed by the sea and its horizon as it merged with the two. He had gone home pretty much over a bell ago after his patrol had ended, and changed into his vest and trousers so that his body could breath what moisture rose in the air from the sea. "This humidity is gettin' t' be a bitch." He finally admitted to himself in the silence, deep blue eyes ever focused on the tidal waves that eased onto the shore to caress the sand, only to return to its body and momentarily leave the shores it touched wet and alone. Caws from the sea gulls filled the amber sky as they flocked around for their food, all in one beautiful immense picture before him. "Odd how peaceful the bay looks." He admired with a content grin, mind traced back onto the memory of a time much like this before.

He was young then and felt afraid to face the sea, respected it and it's God for the power it contained. Until someone came along to change all that. Someone who wasn't afraid to face the immensity, somebody who taught him how to do so. "Facin' the immensity..." He sighed and rose to his feet, forefoot on a heel to pull off a shoe, then the same method on the other so that he went barefoot in the sand. With steady steps taken towards the ocean he remembered the time he dealt with his loss, the pain that depression brought on caused him to attempt suicide by drowning. All because he thought he really was alone. "Things've changed since then, I'm better now. Stronger." His approach met with waves that washed upon his bare feet, the cool water lapped over the as the soft mushy sand gave way beneath them. It was a feeling he hardly thought to indulge in, but one that relaxed him everytime he did so. "Now I can face the immensity b'fore me, 'cause I'm no longer 'fraid." He felt sure about this. Summer had proven to be a true testament to his ability to improve, to become something better than what he was before. He had worked harder this season, just to pull everything together for the family he would soon have.

He walked a little further ways into the ocean, until water covered his knees at least, and took in the feel of the enormous ocean that rested before him. With a deep inhale he sighed as he fell into a content state of mind, head cleared and calmed of all the things that would trouble him. "Now I've just t' face another immensity..." He looked to the palm of his right hand, rather hesitant to call upon his power. The reserves of Djed he feared to touch or use as he could lose himself in the process, the risk was far to great to try and tackle on alone. Yet he had to try. He asked for this gift and sure enough it was given, now he had to learn how to use it without endangerous himself... or better yet others. Still in the tranquil state of mind he allowed himself to risk it just this once, and with a peer around to see that he still appeared alone, he finally tapped into his reserves to start a try out session. Ricky pulled into his inner self to will the flow of Djed to his palm, and with mind completely zoned onto the task he began to mold the royal blue Res into a ball. Its liquid ooze slightly bubbled as he held left hand next to his right, and sure enough he found that he had a mental control over the ball as it floated up and down in a bouyant manner.

"'Kay..." He mumbled nervously, as he brought the orb of Res before him cautiously. He felt as though the surface of the water became attracted to the orb, like it was compelled to merge with it or something of that nature. He didn't quite understand it, but when he willed for the transmutation to take hold the ball of ooze turned completely liquid, then gravitated to his hand with a splash as he jumped back. He shook his hand nervously and inspected it to find no damage was actually done, only wet skin was present from the water when it fell into his hand. "Laviku's beard..." He quirked with a sigh of relief, unaware that another happen to finally appear.
