Timestamp: 88th of Summer, 513AV "Oh! No, I guess it wasn't the best, as far as weapons go," Kirsi chuckled as Jorin tossed his stick aside, noting that it did, indeed, look much worse for the wear. Hers, though simple, was made of sturdier stuff and showed no ill-use along its polished length. She'd purchased it in the bazaar, but it had been hard going, finding one that was the right size. Seemed the man had tall, thick staves, meant for an Akalak grip, or a Konti, but nothing for a diminutive (even by Vantha standards) woman of less-than-impressive strength. In fact, it was quite plain; though she had noticed, Kirsi had not yet taken the time to decorate the weapon. But Jorin was asking her to make an entire staff? She wavered; it was a simple enough theory, and surely she could do it. But she had never actually made a staff before. Carved a finished product, certainly. But crafted the entire thing? Well, how hard could it be? In the interest of a budding friendship, she would give it her best effort. "I'd be happy to give it a shot. I've never made an entire staff before - I'm not sure how long it will take. But if you stop by the shop, we can carve out the details," she grinned at her own horrible play on words and continued. "It will be nice to have a project with wood again, other than just my own carving ideas." Just the hint of a new project had her mind whirring away; did he want carvings? A name, maybe? Something to do with acting? Though she couldn't figure what that might be. what was related to acting, but would fit on a staff? Hm. Giving herself a mental shake, she filed those thoughts away for that murky "some point" when Jorin visited the Terra Cottage. But for now, the sun was almost spent and it was quite a hike back into Riverfall - looking around, she was mildly surprised to realize just how far down the beach she'd stomped in her anger. Tomorrow was another day, as always, and she knew if she stayed out much later, she'd never beat Garob into the shop. Climbing the her feet, Kirsi stretched - her muscles complained, tired, but it was a good kind of tired and one that she welcomed. "As much fun as this has been, I think its probably time for me to head back to the city. Now that I've finished my fit of temper," she added, chuckling self-deprecatingly. Kirsi offered Jorin a hand up, "Care to walk back with me?" |
