Eva. A red ball of rusty orange fluff. Her nose is coal black with her muzzle having a touch of white among the red. Her whole underside is a creamy white color. And that tail of hers, always waging. Her eyes are brown and expressive, making Lorelle sometimes think she is a human trapped in the body of her dog. A laugh rings out in the small front room of the arvinta as the red dog lets out a sharp bark. A series of playful growls follow as Eva attacks Lorelle's gloved hand that holds her boot. Probably not a smart idea to use her boot as a toy, but Lorelle can't help it. She doesn't have any toys for the pup. She never thought about it, making her poor boots victim to the dog's every whim. Nonetheless, Lorelle can't help but laugh as the boot is ripped from her grip and dragged on the floor. Eva barks and spins, growling as she buries her muzzle into the boot. Lorelle rolls her eyes and laughs once more as she moves forward and takes the boot from Eva.
"Alright Eva, let go. I do need that," Lorelle says, grabbing the dog's muzzle to make her release the shoe. Eva barks in protest and tries to jump up on Lorelle to get it back as the Vantha looks over her boot.

"No Eva," Lorelle orders, making the dog pull back and sit on the floor. Some whimpers are heard, but Lorelle ignores them. She just inspects the boot. It isn't bad, but it isn't exactly presentable anymore. She sighs. It will be time to get new ones soon. Maybe after her birthday. No, before. Sometime early fall. Someone would go nuts if she had busted boots going into her next year of life. Well, maybe not. She isn't sure. Better safe than sorry. "I'll get you a toy or two when I go shopping next Eva. I promise," Lorelle states, knowing fully well that the dog can't actually understand her. The girl sighs, letting the boot drop down with a thud next to her other one in the corner of the room. She then goes into the other room and sits lays down on her bed, Eva jumping right up and landing next to her. Lorelle's hand drops and she intertwines her fingers with the dogs fur. Her eyes travel around the room and then down to herself.

She wears the same simple purple shirt and dark blue pants she has every day this season and the last. She is tired of her clothes and her arvinta. She wishes she has a ton of mizas to just revamp everything. Get new furniture, but even more to get herself a new wardrobe. She sucks at shopping, always has. But she needs to break out of this same outfit routine. It has made life predictable and bland. She will be starting a new year of her life soon. It is time to break out of her shelf and actually get herself some clothes. Speaking of age ... Lorelle groans and rolls over so she is on her stomach with her face down in her pillow. The dread of her quickly approaching birthday is suddenly very present in her head, making it hard to push it away.
"Eva, when did I get so old?" she groans, wishing the dog could tell her the answer. She sighs when all she gets is a tail wag from the pup. "I am going crazy. I want an answer from a dog. Yep, it is so past time to get a friend to talk to," another groan escapes her throat.

She remembers Jesslyn. She came close to becoming friends with the blind Vantha. Jess even brought feelings out of her that she hasn't felt for a long time. Then the girl just disappeared. Lorelle hasn't heard anything from or of her all season. It was unnerving at first, but now she is used to it. Just another lost friend to add to the list. It seems to be growing. Some might think it weird that she has given up on the girl and no longer worries for her, but Lorelle sees it as life passing. Plus, it wasn't like they were close anyway. They just met up twice and last time she saw the girl she was in a pretty sour state. Truthfully, anything could have happened. Lorelle sighs again. She looks down at Eva, stroking the dog's head.
"You won't ever leave me, will you?" she asks. She is met with a happy bark from the red ball. Maybe she does understand. Lorelle wishes that were true but she knows it isn't. It can't be. There is truthfully no possible way for it to be true.

The wind sounds against the window, reminding Lorelle of the ongoing storm outside. Last day of summer and it is met with a snowstorm. Another sigh is do here but Lorelle doesn't give one. Yes, she wishes it wasn't snowing so hard, but in truth. She doesn't care. She is used to the snow and she is used to growing up around snowstorms that trap her inside. She is just glad she is inside instead of trapped outside in the storm.
"Alright Eva, we better get comfortable. Looks like it is going to be a long night."
