The young woman wasn't sure what he meant when he described the falls. The phrase lingered in her mind as the made it to the bazaar. Ora was quite thankful of the man's assisstance getting through the crowd, with the way Ora was it would have been unlikely that should would have made it very far at all without his help.

After Ora met back up with Rhuryc she smiled slightly at the sight of a crumb that lingered in the corner of his mouth before he wiped it away. Ora happily listened to him speak of his apprenticeship, while most might consider it boring, the woman was raised to respect and eagerly listen to others. A small laugh escaped her pale lips as he finished his tale. "If you do not mind my asking.. What happened to your Father?" Ora asked, her eyes watching him for a moment before moving to look at her surroundings, taking in the various carts.

A few carts were at least slightly interesting, but the woman knew better than to spend all her money in Sylira, she still had a ways to travel.

"My father?" Rhuryc bobbed his head as he cleared a wider path towards a derelict cart. Once there he promptly turned about and used the back as a bench. For the past few days this had been a habit of his, utilizing discarded, usually broken, mercantile items to rest and observe the goings-on of the bazaar. The people were fun to watch. "Nothing special, really." He continued, his gaze filtering out over the throngs of individuals vying for goods. "He died of illness when I was young. I figure, now anyway, he lost his will when my mother died." His casual tone made it seem as if the young man did not even care. In truth, it was a sour subject, but there was no reason to be rude about it. Ora herself was so civil that Rhuryc felt any uncouth remarks would physically wound her. Silly.

Rhuryc's gaze flicked back to the girl. He watched her reaction, assuming there would be some kind of apology for prying. He did not mind, but Ora had such a way about her that Rhuryc imagined he would feel some pity, if not sympathy, for bringing up the memory.

"Family is always a bit strange, I suppose. What of yours?"

Ora followed Rhuryc to the abandoned cart and while he leaned against it, she only stood a few inches from it, watching the man as he spoke. Once he had answered Ora felt a twinge upset at asking him. "I am sorry," Ora said, her eyes moving to look down at her own feet. Her apology was for several reasons, one was, of course, prying, and the other was the thought that his father couldn't live for his son after the death of a wife. It was a curious thought to Ora, the father figure held no real importance in her life aside from creation, other than that, he was but a story at bedtime.

The young woman was caught off guard when the question was turned on her, he hadn't been asking much out of her, but it was a welcome change of pace. "My family?" Ora thought for a few moments about how to explain family life on the Isle. "Families on the White Isle are different compared to yours," Her eyes moved from her feet to Rhuryc's face. "I was raise without a Father, but with many Mothers and Sisters around me." She frowned slightly at the memories of childhood. "I was not as welcomed to most of the other Mothers, as my Mother did not act as proper as most Konti do," Ora fidgeted with the horse figurine she had purchased.

"All I know of my Father was he was an Akalak, my Mother loved him dearly," Ora smiled at the memories of bedtime stories. "My mother saved him from death and for that, she was given his Lakan. She remained in Riverfall until she was close to giving birth to me, which was when she traveled back to The White Isle." Ora frowned slightly, she wasn't telling him about her family anymore, now it was more telling him her history. "I am sorry, I seem to be getting carried away," Her eyes moved to look through the crowd. "I lived with my Mother on the Isle until I was twenty, at which time she passed on." Ora's voice seemed to fall rather suddenly.

"Shall we continue?" She asked, attempting to smile up at Rhuryc as she started to walk back into the crowd as if she was running away.

Rhuryc almost laughed. Not because of Ora's past, but her initial reaction. He felt like he had won some kind prize. Nevertheless the young man made an effort to remain polite and civil - as she did for him, it seemed only proper to return the favor. His head canted to the side while he offered an ear, musing at the information as it streamed from Ora's lips. The Akalak father explained the dagger but Rhuryc found himself almost in disbelief. This girl had the blood of a warrior? He would have expected her to be taller, at least, and maybe even possess a twinge of color to her skin. Despite everything she said that was particular strand of logic plagued the man's mind. As usual, the wheels in his head began to turn and Rhuryc found his curiosity taking control.

"You're sorry far too often." He started. A push and a hop brought him back to his feet and his gaze flicked down at Ora, his eyes carrying a thoughtful expression. "That's too bad about your mother, but ah, perhaps your father is still alive?" Rhuryc continued his small speech as he moved off at a steady pace once more, his strides altered for the benefit of his companion. As before he adapted the poise of a body guard. A well adjusted one, in any case, very few random bystanders were willing to engage a human of such size and caliber. "I need to ask, though, You're, well. I've seen Akalak children and you just strike as. Small." Rhuryc frowned, unsure of how to ask that question without somehow seeming rude. "It's not that I don't believe you, I'm just curious. Is that some sort of Konti trait? I would just expect you to be about as tall as I am, if not bigger."

That was a humorous image. For a moment Rhuryc entertained himself with the idea of a big, buff Ora. His eyes almost crossed. Fortunately their trek from the markets was almost complete and the two of them began their ascension back to the world beyond. Shall they continue? Good question. Rhuryc was not really sure where else they could - wishing well! Definitely.

Ora had to catch herself from apologizing for apologizing too often, it was a habit, a mixture of good and bad, and it was something Ora wasn't able to weed out of her blood. The Konti continued to walk, listening to the man who accompanied her. "I am hoping he is... I have many questions for him." Ora was thankful that Rhuryc was the one taking her through the bazaar, she likely would have been swallowed whole by a mixture of patrons and cart owners selling their goods.

The young woman found herself laughing, a smile grew on her face as she looked up at Rhuryc. Ora shook her head slightly. "Well... No matter who a Konti woman mates with, she will give birth to a Konti female... There is no such thing as half bloods when it comes to Konti," Ora paused a moment. "Well, rarely are there half blooded Konti, it is extremely rare but sometimes, when a Konti and Akalak mate, they create a half Konti and half Akalak child, I really do not know much about them, I have only heard of them in passing." Ora smiled lightly and looked around the bazaar for a while longer. "The traits of the father have no real effect on the offspring of a Konti child, Rhuryc, we are... Very unlike most races, I suppose."

Ora looked around as they exited the crowd of the bazaar, she was unsure of where they were going next. "So... Where to, Rhuryc?" Ora asked him, her eyes scanning the area and landing on Rhuryc. Her mind wandered, thinking over the reason they were having this outing. "Would you take me to the falls?" She asked, her eyes moving to look at the clouds the drifted slowly by.

Rhuryc's brow furrowed. There really was too much he did not understand about some of the other races. Konti only bred Konti? Strange. No matter, the answer satisfied him for now and there was little reason to pursue the line of questioning. For now anyway. He doubted Ora knew much more on the subject anyway.

"The falls?" He blinked as he lead the girl out of the bazaar and back into the city proper. The traffic had picked up since the morning and the sun was high in the sky now, warming the day an almost unbearable degree. Rhuryc almost considered removing his coat. Almost. "They're a day's ride north, and almost two by foot. If you're up for such a journey I might be inclined to head in that direction." Despite his earlier venture Rhuryc was never opposed to random journey. What harm was there in a little trek north? Well, possible bandits and monsters aside. Could she fight? As he started back off through the streets Rhuryc contemplated just how sensible such a trek might be.

"But the path diverges from the road." He said, taking a quick turn down one of the more narrow alley ways on the street. When they emerged he immediately started moving against the flow of traffic, a clear destination in his mind. "Can you defend yourself? The wood is often unforgiving." He finished as they came to a sudden stop. The area here was much more quiet than the rest of the city. Surrounded by low-lying buildings, the section seemed almost run-down, rustic in appeal. The road circled here and ended with only the way in which it came and in the center was a single, old well. Built with decaying stone, the well was no different than any other except for the flowers that hung from its top.

"Welcome to the wishing well."

“It would be a good practice for what lies ahead,” Ora said calmly, she wanted to take the trip to the falls, for two reasons, to test herself and to explore, she was her mothers daughter after all. The Konti looked at the crowd as they moved against the grain of traffic, her mind wandered to her basic training in defense, she was not the best at it, but at least she wouldn’t throw up her arms and give in.

“I am trained,” The young woman said, her eyes moved to Rhuryc as the two of them came to a stop. “I was trained in Suvai, only minimally, though. I am better at fixing wounds than causing them.” Ora’s eyes moved to look around at their surroundings, they landed quickly on the well in the middle of the turn-a-bout. The young woman walked slowly and calmly over to the well. The curious woman peered down into its depths before looking back at her companion. “If you do not wish to take me there, I will understand, I do not wish to be a bother,” A weak smile crossed her face. “I am sorry; I suppose I am a bit too curious and adventurous for my own good?” Even Ora wasn’t sure if that was the truth, she was a curious individual, but when it came to adventure, that was a little more questionable. The young Konti did want to see the places from bedtime stories, but she was, like most Konti, non-confrontational, preferring to avoid any sort of fighting. Ora had accepted before she even left her Isle that she would be faced with such an event.

Ora leaned lightly against the old well, her eyes returning to the object she rested against. “So, what is the tale of this then, Rhyurc?” The Konti woman smiled softly at the storyteller, her curious ears ready to gobble any information tossed at her.

Suvai? Rhuryc gave the woman a curt nod, not entirely sure what that actually was. Minimal training in something was better than none at all, anyway, and with such tenacity it seemed only appropriate that he should allow the girl her request. His first trek to the falls had been before he knew much of anything about the sword, who was he to deny her such an adventure? The decision was made then. They would have to fetch some supplies from the market, but otherwise he was set and ready to leave at any time. Just so long as he had his sword.

"Kova's well. No one actually knows where the stones came from," He started, his head bobbing in accordance with his words. "Some believe that if you toss in a coin a spirit will appear and aid you in some way. So," Rhuryc grinned as he pulled a gold-rimmed Miza from his pocket and tossed it inside, waiting for the tell-tale splash before continuing. "I doubt you'll be much of a bother at all." Did that mean he had agreed to take her? Perhaps. The young man had a strange way about his words sometimes.

The man turned to face the girl and gave her a brief smile. "I suppose we could leave this afternoon. Or tomorrow. Whichever suits you, but we'll want to stop at the markets first, maybe pick up some supplies."

Ora’s fingers grazed the stones that made up the well, her eyes looking them over. The stones were worn, but solid, perhaps they were pre-Valterrian? Maybe, or they could be from some poor old house that fell to disrepair, either way, the stones where here now, making up the well. Her eyes followed the gold rimmed Miza until it was consumed by the darkness in the depths of the well, soon after she lost sight of it, there was the satisfying noise of it submerging into water.

The young Konti followed his lead, her fingers reaching into a small pouch attached to the cord around her waist. She found a matching gold rimmed Miza, which she brought to her lips and whispered to, a small thanks for any help she might receive, and then dropped it into the well. Her attention moved from her coin once she heard it hit the water, at which point, her expressions were directed towards Rhuryc. Ora bowed her head slightly to the man before she spoke. “Thank you, Rhuryc, I will try to not be a bother.” A smile graced her face once she looked back up at him, her voice was cheerful, excited.

“Heading out today would work very well, but yes, we will need to get some supplies,” Ora paused a moment, thinking. “I am sorry, but… What will we need?” Her voice sounded embarrassed, for obvious reasons. Her eyes moved back to the well, her mind wandering, she hoped a spirit would help her, but what it did was entirely of its own accord. “I will need to pray before I leave, if it is not too much trouble.”

Rhuryc blinked. What would they need? He was unsure of how able the woman was with travel. The man required very little. Food and water. He was quite capable of sleeping on rocks and even in rain if the situation called for it. Ora did not strike him as the 'rough-it' kind of person. The best answer lay in her own choices, he imagined. If she traveled along the road to Syliras then she would have her own supplies. Hopefully. If not than Rhuryc deemed he would feel like a jerk. Or at least an ass. Probably an ass. With a sigh he continued to muse on the possibilities of travel, going over the logistics of the voyage in his head. Perhaps a return trip to the bazaar was in order. Funny, he felt his pockets lightening already.

"Rations. Water. Ah," He frowned for a moment. "If you need supplies to camp, a tent, maybe. Fire materials. Since it's not that far I don't really intend on camping for any longer than it takes to sleep." How well would that go? Rhuryc's training entailed a great deal of physical condition, that of which he kept up with on a regular basis. "I'll head to the bazaar if you want to take care of that. Praying, that is." Rhuryc bobbed his head in accordance with his before he turned about. A few steps brought him away from the well before he stopped, turning his head back to the woman.

"Oh. Ah, you don't mind jerked beef, do you?" Rhuryc blinked. Did she even eat meat?
