AZIRA
CURRENT LOCATION: Wind Reach
OCCUPATION: Hunter (Avora)
RACE: Inarta
GENDER: Female
AGE: 21 (as of Fall 516AV)
BIRTHDAY: 66th day of Fall 495AV
BIRTHPLACE: Wind Reach
APPEARANCE: Standing at 4'8" and weighing about 88lbs, Azira is often underestimated by those she encounters, as she is small even by Inarta standards. Her fiery red hair is kept short, falling unevenly about her ears as she cuts it herself, leaving it haphazard. It frames an oval-shaped face, tapering gently to a rounded chin. Her skin is exceptionally pale as is common to the Inarta, but can take more sun than one might think possible allowing her to tan to some degree, a testament to the harsh conditions to which her race has adjusted. There is a smattering of freckles across her forehead and high cheekbones, with an admirable collection across the bridge of her nose. She has high brows of a darker shade than her hair that arch above large, expressive gold eyes, which according to Inarta beliefs means that she was a Wind Eagle in a past life. Her mouth is small with the corners typically turned down in a habitual scowl. Her lips are thin with a fuller bottom lip, a well-defined cupid's bow and of a pale pink hue. Her left earlobe is pierced, as well as being pierced twice at the top, although it has been some time since she has worn earrings, leaving small holes as the only evidence that they've ever been punctured.
CHARACTER CONCEPT: Like all Inarta, Azira is bold, blunt and makes certain that her opinions are clearly heard. She has a very straight forward way of thinking. She's naturally cautious, meaning that she's unlikely to come to any harm while around others or out hunting. Azira may seem innocent in appearance because of her size but she has a definite wickedness about her.
Below the surface is a temper as fiery as her hair and given her proficiency with a bow, it's a bad idea to cross her. Her temper often gets the better of her and she's likely to say something's best left unsaid. Her mouth often gets her into trouble.
She has a acquired distrust of others after a number of incidents with men older than herself, in particular a Dek who forced himself upon her. As a rest she has a strong hatred of the caste and will gladly make their lives hell if given the excuse to do so. Some derogatory comments from a number of Endals and a unanswered desire to become an Eagle rider herself has caused her to greatly dislike the entire caste.
She is intelligent like other Inarta but has an obsession with reading. She has very little money so she can't afford to buy her own books, instead reading scrolls or borrowed books from the Enclave. She hopes to be able to afford to fill a bookcase one day.
CHARACTER HISTORY: Azira was born to an Avora mother and an Endal father. Her mother was a glassblower and her father was only her father in name. Not long after Azira was born, her parents separated and she was left in the custody of her mother. She dearly loved her mother and was overjoyed when she received a glass ocarina from her for her seventh birthday.
However, tragedy struck as her next birthday was approaching. Her mother was involved in a terrible accident involving molten glass and died as a result of her injuries a few days later. With no one to take care of her, Azira ended up in the care of the nurseries for a brief time until she moved to the Yasi quarters to learn independence. She strived as a Yasi, working diligently at her assigned Bendi and excelling in her classes.
The belief that golden eyed Inarta like her had lived as Wind Eagles in a past life made her obsessed with the creatures. She researched the History of Wind Eagles avidly and became somewhat of an expert in the subject. Though much to her disappointment, no Wind Eagle would consider her for a rider no matter how enthusiastically she cleaned the Aeries.
Despite this disappointment, at 11 she caught the attenton of one of the Avora when Hunter Si'ira accepted her as an apprentice after seeing her budding skill with a bow and her excellent marks. Azira proved to be a quick learner, picking up survival in the wilderness quickly and showed great skill with a short bow.
At 15, Azira was accepted into the ranks of the Avora when she finished her training and became a hunter.
A number of disastrous relationships around this time left her mentally scarred and created a deep mistrust in others.
