Shubre
Name: Shubre Dyson Race: Inarta DoB: 465 PoB: Wind Reach Caste and Title: Avora - Geomancer Skills: Reimancy 90, Weapon: Talon Sword 76 Gnosis: Shubre Dyson is one of Wind Reach's Earth Reimancers responsible for maintaining and carving out the hallways, chambers, and facilities in Wind Reach. Shubre is in charge of all the other Earth Reimancers and tends to specialize in the Inner Warrens because she seems to have a knack for getting the most use out of the space provided. Her crafting of rooms tends to result in comfortable places that people enjoy living in without feeling as though they live in a cave. She always finishes the rough surfaces into smooth material, making her craftings and hollows some of the best and safest for the residents. Often her work will include stone furniture and nooks that will form all but perfect places to slide in a mattress for a large comfortable sleeping space. Shubre is all about the details. However, despite wanting to be an Endal all her life, Shubre has never been chosen. It is obvious why, though, because if she rode an eagle, Wind Reach would be losing an amazing asset in interior design. Shubre also wields a Talon Sword on the side. She's quite famous for breaking up duels. She initially chose a Talon sword because her work takes her deep into the heart of the mountain where all sorts of stone predators live. Talon swords lend themselves well to close-quarters fighting while still giving the wielder the reach needed to inflict damage but stay out of the way of claws and fangs. Shubre occasionally takes on students, but only in exchange for them teaching her something. Twins
Name: Lorlyn and Herith Race: DoB: PoB: Caste and Title: Avora - Courtyard Caretakers Skills: (Lorlyn) Architecture 76, Drawing 35, Carving 63, Construction 55, Reimancy 62, Sculpting 35; (Herith) Construction 76, Dagger 39, Unarmed Combat 45 Gnosis: The Twins are the caretakers of the Courtyard, though Lorlyn is officially in charge, her brother organizes the Dek crew that sweeps the courtyard and puts up decorations. Herth has organized Dek to clean out a storeroom to be used as a home for his crew. While, Lorlyn gets the caretaker room off to the side of the courtyard. The Dek crew keep their jealous light work positions by making sure that courtyard and Lorlyn are well looked after. Lorlyn sadly learned of her gift for Reimancy at a young age. Herth, her twin brother, had been rock climbing when a rock slide happened crushing his right arm and eye socket. She had prepared to be tested for the ability to use magic in a year, but the Gods had decided to test her earlier. She was able to tap into her Djed and move the rocks with reimancy, Herth survived while Lorlyn overgave to the point of having Sweet Whispers. Years later, Loryln went missing and Herth found her in an old room. The room had been shaped with random arches and pillars from Lorlyns magic. Vowing to take care of her, Herth has watched over his sister for years. Lorlyn is bubbly and scattered minded. The only thing that she seems to be able to concentrate on is keeping up the repairs and upkeep of the courtyard. As far as events scheduled or where the metal chimes are kept, she has her brother to remind her. Everyone thinks kindly of Lorlyn, but people think she has gone crazy from all the reimancy that she does. At times they find her in the hallways talking about one great project to forever engrave herself in the courtyard, it’s at those times people fetch her brother before she does something crazy. Herith is dark and humorless, as a child he lost his right arm and eye when rockslide occurred crushing him. Herth is only seen with a smile when Lorwyn is around, at which point he gentle nudges her or helps her focus. Otherwise by himself, he is suspicious of everyone and keeps a watchful eye out for suitors. Davoid
Name: Chef Davoid Race: Inarta DoB: 475 PoB: Wind Reach Caste and Title: Avora Head Chef Skills: Cooking 75, Brewing 53, Food Preservation 35, Organization 83, Vinting 15 Gnosis: 2M Oriana Chef Davoid has been given two ranks of Gnosis by Oriana so that she can heighten her sense of smell and provide wonderful dishes. Though Davoid has never raised her voice to anyone, she is also not someone to grant a favor. As Head Chef of Communal Kitchens, Davoid is force to be strict and harsh. She grants no extra portions without a great deal of work; knowing if she hands out extra portions today, people starve tomorrow. Chef Davoid grew from a child to an apprentice chef. She enjoyed cooking and often thought about who she would marry. As the years went on the previous Head Chef helped the young Davoid prepare her to become Head Chef. One day Davoid went to the Dreaming Lady, afraid of losing her true path to a young Endal suitor, she began to dream and saw a pathway through the Inner warrens to a mountain stream. Davoid went along the pathway to end up out into a mountain stream where a dead mother bear and her crying cub laid. Davoid so overcome by the cries took the bear into her care, and was given her first mark by Oriana. When the Head Chef could no longer perform her duties Chef Davoid stepped in and took over. Over the course of the year’s Davoid now lives in one of the upper chambers where she and her full grown bear sleep. The window leads back out to the mountain stream, and it is rumored that her cub has found a mate. Chef Davoid has a stern visage, but can be approached for errands and other tasks that the kitchen requires. Her hand writing is on all the grey slates, in the communal kitchens and several orders to glassworkers and metalsmiths. She can be found early in the morning to late at night working in the kitchens, directing the countless kitchen staff needed to make sure Wind Reach has food. As a person of power, she is the ultimate authority on who eats and who goes hungry, so people go out of their way to be nice to her. Several of her chefs are also known to be some of the best knifemen in Wind Reach and guard the food stores with a zealous demeanor. She has personally punished several thieves and has no remorse for them. Whisper
Name: Whisper Race: Konti DoB: 410 PoB: Mura Caste and Title: Avora - Shrinekeeper Skills: Spiritism 81, Harp 53, Incense Making 45 Gnosis: 1 Avalis, 2 Dira Whisper showed up in Wind Reach in the heart of winter banging on the gates. She was only a child of 23 at the time. She told the gatekeeper, Valtrrrik "Val" Imsun that she was there to answer "The Call" and create a shrine to the dead. She's been a whisperer of ghosts ever since. Some say she's perhaps the leading authority in Wind Reach on the spirits and what they want and need. She rarely socializes, but mainly that is because Whisper is busy maintaining The Shrine of Those That Have Passed. If approached, she'd gladly speak to a person about the spirit realm and teach them if they were interested. Akvin
Name: Akvin Kultra Race: Seemingly Human DoB: Unknown PoB: Unknown Caste and Title: Avora - Magecrafter/Inclement Weather Drummer Skills: Magecrafting 87, Morphing 61, Glyphing 71, Shielding 65, Projection 55, Knives 49, Philtering 33, Brewing 22, Play Music Instrument: Drums 76, Singing 51 Gnosis: 2M Eyris, 3M Akaija Akvin Kultra has long been in the service of the Dyres family. No one knows exactly how old he is, but he's lived in Stormhold for the length and breath of the existence of the citadel. Akvin's appearance never changes. He has been known to take Kelvic companions from time to time, but often grieves long periods after their deaths. He seems young, rash even at times, though mostly its an illusion that helps disguise his true need for blending in and being overlooked. The magecrafter doesn't often take apprentices or outside students, nor does he usually take commissions, but in times of great need he's been known to help out the Syliran Knights. Akvin has a passion for cigars and can sometimes be found brewing his own beer or ale. He often dresses in black leather, and unless he has a caretaker or companion with him, his hair normally falls long and ignored down into his eyes. In 511, Akvin decided to relocate to Wind Reach and escort Glav Navik to its boundaries. Once there, under Cedar's tutelage he picked up drums and vocals. Now he can be found almost nightly performing and leading some of the miscreants in Inclement Weather, a Revelry Club that he claims has become his second home. Glav Navik
Name: Glav Navik Race: Seemingly Human DoB: Unknown PoB: Unknown Caste and Title: Avora Priest/Councilor Skills: Leadership 90, Psychology 83, Shielding 73, Rhetoric 68, Negotiation 64 Gnosis: Various Glav Navik has for the whole of his life been a student of religion. Having taken it upon himself to intensely study the Gods and their interactions with the world and each other, Glav is a bastion of knowledge in a somewhat chaotic life. He holds services every five days, and maintains the Temple of All Gods where folks can come, meditate, pray or even strike up a discussion with him. Glav is reported to have more gnosis marks than any current living person on Mizahar. Glav has one enormous secret, and it is the reason he seems so wise and at peace with himself and the others who come to see him seeking answers and spiritual advice. Though virtually unknown, even among the Gods, Glav has connections that run deep to the city of Syliras, and could be considered one of its greatest protectors. He however has recently left Syliras to move to Wind Reach where he is trying to ascend to Godhood. Kara
Name: Kara Vakamisa Race: Human (mixed) DoB: 461 PoB: Wind Reach Caste and Title: Avora Healer Skills: Medicine 65, Spinning 51, Leadership 23, Psychology 15 Gnosis: Kara a 52 year old Avora who spends her free time tending the sick, wounded, and extremely old residents in the Infirmary. Anyone could tell, however, that Kara's heart isn't in her work. She mainly sits at her spinning wheel that is set up in the corner because the infirmary is always a quiet place for her to spin wool into yarn. Many say that Kara is bitter because she was never chosen by Rak'keli and that was all she ever wanted when she was younger - to receive a gnosis mark. Granyl
Name: Granyl Weavr Race: Human DoB: 479 PoB: Denval Caste and Title: Avora - Carver & Carpenter Skills: Carving 65, Carpentry 45, Geology 30, Drawing 25, Calligraphy 20 Gnosis: Granyl Weavr is a young man with thin, dirty blonde hair and a spattering of sparse facial hair. He is tall and thin, with calloused finger pads and palms. His nails often have dirt caked under them. He is mostly quiet, and doesn't usually have much to say on any subject besides the arts he practices. He avoids conflict of any kind, and seeks to make his customers happy with his work on their orders. He made his way to Wind Reach from Denval for the simple dream of living among the fiery headed people and their Wind Eagle mounts. As a teen, he learned to craft things from wood, but it wasn't until an Inartan woman requested of him a wooden doll for her daughter that he found his love of carving. Though it took him more than a handful of tries, and the product was a rough, splintery figurine, the woman was pleased and purchased the doll. In between crafting orders for furniture and the like, Granyl would use the scrap wood as material for creating wooden figurines. As his skill progressed, he began working with stone, as well. He saved his earned pinions and occasionally purchases new tools for his trade. Granyl is lighthearted and kind, often eager to please more so than earn. He takes great pride in his trade, and is willing to help anyone who may find passion in the art. He asks only respect and patience, and that the first item his student creates is given to him as a token. On the back wall of his home is a shelf he built on his own that spans from the floor to the ceiling. It is lined with the same rough, splintery figurines that he first made, as well as the first of each of his apprentices. Corvin
Name: Corvin Astil Race: Inarta DoB: 487 PoB: Wind Reach Caste and Title: Avora - Glassblower Skills: Glassworking 75, Philtering 40, Metalsmithing 60, Drawing 50, Etching 30 Gnosis: Corvin Astil is an accomplished glassblower. He takes but very few under his wing to learn his trade, and will dismiss his pupil if he or she fails to develop and express passion for the work he provides. An apprentice under Corvin will be expected to pick up the art as well as assist him in keeping his shop clean and the tools in prime condition. In his early twenties, Corvin has yet to fully mature into a man. He can be sarcastic and witty, and most people misunderstand his sense of humor as harsh or unkind. Apprenticeship under Corvin is granted to those who can display to him some semblance of talent and promise. Leo
Name: Leo Race: Inartan DoB: Winter 6, 475 PoB: Thunder Bay Caste and Title: Avora - Poisoncrafter Skills: Poison 75, Medicine 45, Investigation 35, Herbalism 30, Philtering 50 Gnosis: n/a By normal Inartan standards, Leo would have been placed in the dek caste. The man was born with only three toes on his right foot, marking him from the very beginning as an oddity, though that alone might not have set him apart. As he grew, he showed potential for medicine, and began to train with the medics at the infirmary, but he also had another passion involving poisons and magic. Several accidents later, he ended up with a burnt face on one side, a left arm that had become shriveled and useless, though he refuses to cut him off, and he lost a foot due to intentional self exposure to a flesh eating bacteria living in an underground pond. Despite his infirmities, his mind still works perfectly well, even if he is a bit sadistic at times, and he retains his avora caste. Leo's life is wrought with education and accidents. The boy was extremely gifted in the medical arts, showing potential at a very young age, though he was never blessed with Rak'keli's gift. In his adult life, his work is only whispered about. Leo works apart from the infirmary, due to some of the questionable techniques he uses to advance his craft, but his usefulness outweighs the sheer wrongness of the things he does and the Valintar continues to allow him to operate. The Infirmary only begrudgingly accepts his help. Leo is primarily a crafter of poisons, though he does not sell any of them. Instead he learns and perfects the craft of poisons, only so that he can then create an antidote. Often the more useless of the dek caste are provided to him for experimentation, and many have lost their lives to failed experiments involving poison and unsuccessful antidotes. Leo see the loss as a necessary evil to aid those others who need his antidotes, and were it not for his exceptional success the Valintar probably would not allow him to continue his work. Leo also dabbles in seeking out cures for various illnesses and other ailments of the body, though he is less successful in these fields. Even so, he has made several strides on various projects, again proving his value to the city and its residents. (c) Sira Evie
Name: Evie Race: Inarta DoB: Winter 5, 481 PoB: Wind reach Caste and Title: Avora - Seamstress & Cobbler Skills: Sewing 76, Birdkeeping 31, Cobbling 53, Leatherworking 28, Weaving 22 Gnosis: n/a Evie is beautiful from head to toe, always impeccably groomed and nary a copper curl on her head dares to lie out of place. She knows it too, and sadly, her personality is far less lustrous. Vanity consumes her life and work, making her judgmental of others and self-obsessed. She prefers not to deal with customers, instead strictly concentrating on making her wares which she considers "works of art". And since much of her hard labor is worn by over half of Wind Reach, some would argue she has a justified reason to be so proud. Others think she's just a cocky snot. Evie goes out of her way to be finely dressed in an array of colors. She tends to wear more than the average Inartan just for the reason of showing off. She's her own form of advertisement, refusing the wear anything but the best of her creations. Embroidered scarves, elaborately beaded brydas, fine katinus with downy soft lining - it doesn't matter. She does of course make all the cheaper clothing worn by those who cannot afford her preferred finery, though she does this rather reluctantly. Most who meet her but don't get to know her never see any sign of her ill temper and unattractive personality. Instead, her employees are put through the torture of working for the tyrannical force that is Evie. Almost all of them at the very least dislike her, but she pays too good for them to not just keep their mouths shut and tolerate her ludicrous remarks and snide behavior. If given an alternative tailor of comparable skill to work under, they would very possibly throw her off the Edge of the World and then celebrate into the night. Until then, they're stuck with what they have, even if she's as appealing as a painted up spoiled egg. (c) Lander Marlene
Name: Marlene Yantavi Race: Inartan Date of Birth: Season of Spring, Day 9, 487 AV, 23 years old Place of Birth: Wind Reach Title: Avora Chef Skills: Cooking 76/100, Brewing 60/100, Food Preservation 50/100, Weapon skill (staff) 36/100 Marlene is a slender woman with long dark hair, attractive brown eyes and fair skin. She is a kind woman, who enjoys conversation and learning new skills. Marlene was born and raised in Wind Reach. She started out as a Yasi working in the Hydroponic Gardens and then moved into the kitchens when it was realized that she had the talent to be a chef. Marlene enjoyed doing both but it seemed as if she was more fulfilled in the kitchen than in the garden. Years later, she met Archeron during one of his visits to the city, and he was charmed by her and the food that she prepared. However it wasn't until his third visit, when he saw her during the afternoon, and decided to teach her a bit about self defense that she noticed him. She was taken in by marital arts and wanted to learn more at once. It was then, when Archeron returned for the fourth time that she asked if he would train her. He agreed and once the hut was built, he allowed her to move in with him. From that day forward she trained with him and learned to use the staff. Marlene now cooks for Archeron as well as help with the training of those wanting to learn the staff. Resilen

She dresses most revealingly in a skimpy vinati of black leather and flowing black bryda tucked into leather boots. Always armed, both openly and not, Lexi's flirtatious smiles have a knack of disarming would-be attackers long enough for the security to arrive and haul them away. Also a woman with an over-active sex drive and a grand imagination for the many uses of leather, Lexi may offer to show interested parties the long scar that extends from her collar bone down to far beneath the hem of her bryda, a tribute to some danger she survived. (c) Ehati Zenis
Name: Zenis Race: Human (mixed) DoB: 491 PoB: Wind Reach Caste and Title: Avora - Katshika Mine Foreman Skills: Mining 65, Leadership 40, Geology 25, Seduction 17 Gnosis: Zenis was born of mixed blood, his father a full-blooded Inarta glassblower, and his mother a human fletcher. He often assisted his father in his work at the Glass Reverie, but Zenis was not a born craftsman as his parents were. He was well suited for physical work, but when it came to the finer details that both of his parent's trades required, he was at a loss. Zenis was assigned to the Chiet caste since he was skilled enough to hold a decent job, but not so useless as to be made a dek. Zenis found work in the mines only a season after he was assigned his caste. He excelled at the job, having been born strong, and the hard manual labor only made him stronger. After years of hard work he was made foreman of the mine, replacing his elderly predecessor, and has been there ever since. Though he is no longer required to do the hard manual labor his workers are required to do, he can still be seen carrying his pick around and from time to time will join in the work. While he is at work Zenis is a gruff, no-nonsense type of man. He doesn't play around, and is dedicated to his job. Zenis is happiest when he is hard at work, whether it's mining the silver himself, or making sure everyone else is. The only time he loosens up is during the spring season where he returns to the city to enjoy the finer things Wind Reach has to offer, particularly the women. Zenis is something of a ladies’ man, and has charmed many a woman into his bed. Velos
Name: Velos Hale Race: Inartan DoB: Spring the 49th, 483 PoB: Wind Reach Caste and Title: Avora Skills: Falconry 56, Tracking 39, Hunting 46, Bird keeping 30, Mountaineering 35, Teaching 20 Gnosis: None Additional Info: Velos was born of Avora parents and after being apprenticed at age 17, became he became an Avora himself; using falconry along with some of his other skills for a living as a hunter as he became an adult. He is now 30 years old, and lives in the Darniva Commonrooms like most citizens in Wind Reach. Like all Inartans he has reddish-orange hair. His skin is fair and he stands at about 6'0, with a fit build, weighing 170. His eyes are a rich blue and most likely seen full of thought. Velos has an outgoing personality, and he's extremely intelligent. He is mildly prejudiced of most of the other races present in the city, not talking to the ones of a lower level or looked down upon, and certainly not of people belonging to the Drudges, also known as the Dek caste, as it is considered improper in society. He lives alone, and has befriended some of the other hunters, who he will sometimes accompany or visit. Micquel
Name: Micquel Race: Inarta DoB: 455 PoB: Thunder bay Caste and Title: Avora - Chief Healer Skills: Medicine 85, Herbalism 54, Socialization 39, Persuasion 15 Gnosis: Micquel D'hanna is a gentleman in his late 50's. Avora to the core, he wants nothing else than to help those in need. A rather nerdy boy as a child, Micquel spent hours upon hours in the Enclave, reading everything he could get his hands on pertaining to the healing arts. As soon as he was old enough to be apprenticed, he submitted his life to the task of healing. He is of modest to very good skill, with steady hands and more patience than probably anyone else in all of Mizahar, making him perfect for his job. With Endal Aidara's disappearance in fall of 513, Micquel has stepped up as head healer. Keah

Shy and secluded at the age of 17, she has a natural talent for healing. Graced with two gnosis marks from Rak'keli, Keah is very adept at what she does. Behind the quiet demeanor, the girl is driven and therefore a perfect balance for her passive partner. She does everything to the best of her ability and is constantly pushing herself to do better, find a better way to do this treatment or that procedure. With her whole life ahead of her, one can only imagine what she will accomplish. Tekk
Name: Tekk Race: Inarta DoB: 32nd Day of Winter, 478 PoB:Wind Reach Caste and Title:Avora, Weaponsmith Skills: 40 Metalsmithing, 40 Weaponsmithing, 25 Mathematics, 25 Talon Sword Gnosis: None Tekk is a stern and powerful Inarta with a broad, muscular frame and huge arms. It is joked that he was always too big for an eagle, though in truth the smith prefers to work with his hands. He lives by the motto “How you do anything is how you do everything”. While he is not one to suffer fools, he is not an unfair or vindictive taskmaster, though he can come off as rough around the edges. He usually takes two apprentices, who he treats with equal measure of fairness and strictness, and his expectations for his students are very high. His face holds a perpetual scowl, nearly hidden deep beneath an enormous, bushy red beard, and untold layers of iron-grime and black soot. He is almost always working. (c) Cimmanil Hansi
Name: Hansi Nadar Race: Human DoB: PoB: Denval Caste and Title: Avora - Stablemaster Skills: Gnosis: Info Forthcoming Burl
Name: Burl Race: Inarta DoB: Summer 486 PoB: Wind Reach Caste and Title: Avora - Aviary Foreman Skills: Animal Husbandry 68, Teaching 50, Medicine 31, Organization 17 Gnosis: Additional Info:Burl, like many Inarta, has long loved birds. He and his brother, Opolo, were prodigies of their Endal parents and together learned the most of the Eagles from them. However, no bird sought the pair out. Where his brother is sharp of tongue and eye, the gentler Burl leads with kindness. He showed an affinity for organization from an early age, able to color and size coordinate birds of all class from if they were birds of prey to what kind of food they ate based off their beaks. He is one of the few that have managed to procure an apprenticeship with Meera, the Master Falconer taking him and his brother on and teaching them the ways of the birds. With the Tatani-marked matrons help, he swiftly rose to become the Foreman of the Abelu Aviary. It is he that all others in the city obtain their birds from and seek answers from on anything bird related. Specifically, Burl sees to the smooth operation of the Aviary and the education of Yasi and other visitors in the care of their birds. If an injured bird is found, it is to the Abelu it is brought for care by both Burl and his brother. Because of the location of the Aviary, Burl typically wears fur-lined bryda and a male-vinati. He lives with his colleague and partner, Astir in the Commonrooms. Opolo
Name: Opolo Race: Inarta DoB: Summer 486 PoB: Wind Reach Caste and Title: Avora - Falconer Skills: Falconry 59, Mountaineering 40, Animal Husbandry 18, Sailing 40, Pan Flute 50 Gnosis: Additional Info: Opolo is recognized not for any distinguishing feature, but for the sleek white and black-crowned osprey that is rarely absent from his arm. He and the bird are nearly inseparable and it is over said bird one must talk to gain Opolo's attention. The mop-headed brunette commonly wears not but a bryda and sontav and ankle-boots when at the Aviary. His muscled form sings of hard labor spent on the water and he constantly bares the smell of the sea on his form. Though unmarked by the Sea-God, it is well known that Opolo loves the water as much as he loves the birds, and he will commonly be found working with fishermen during the late spring, summer, and early fall periods, hauling fish and letting his osprey (Loa) hunt on his own. When around Abelu, Opolo works alongside his brother caring for the birds. He is as much employed there as he is a falconer working the woods and mountainsides around the realm. Tez
Name: Tez Highwalker Race: Drykas DoB: Winter 474 PoB: Endrykas Caste and Title: Avora - Reimancer Mason Skills: Reimancy 56, Masonry 31, Sculpting (stone) 49, Pan flute 60 Gnosis: Additional Info: A man out of place, Tez hails from far off Endrykas, having come to Wind Reach many years ago with a Svefra trade-ship. He tells of the loss of his family during a tragic stampede one season and how the event left him feeling separated from his kinsmen. The marks of his initiation are clear upon his hands and his work-hard attitude is well-embraced by the whole of Wind Reach. Tez currently resides in Abelu in a small alcove inside the aviary, monitoring the stability of the cliff-side structure constantly, quick to repair or improve upon deficiencies. Tez has sometimes been known to attend private parties, acting as a hired-musician for couples and groups alike, but rarely attends much beyond what is required of him. |
