Known as the Celestial Seat, Nyka is a religious city in Northern Sylira. Ruled by four demigods and traversed by a large crevice, the monk-city is both mystical and dangerous. [Lore]

23rd of Fall, 513AV
The sun was high overhead, but the air still held a slight chill to it. Fall was in full swing in Nyka, but Savio couldn’t feel it at the moment. He stood in the center of the courtyard with a wooden gladius, and completely shirtless. His skin was slick with sweat and his breathing was heavy as he practiced the motions and techniques Bones has been teaching him. He was getting better, and his stance was really well. What he lacked in knowledge of the gladius, he made up with his skill in acrobatics. His balance was impeccable and he moved with an experienced acrobat’s grace.
If only his motions with the weapon were as smooth as his footwork.
The gladius was starting to become more familiar in his hand, but his aim still had much to be desired. The techniques were still rather slow and perhaps a bit clumsy. He knew he had a long way to go before he even came close to Bones’ level, but that was alright. He knew he was still learning the ways of armed combat, so he didn’t get as frustrated as he used to. He even tempted to mix a little bit of his unarmed combat with his gladius practice. He would thrust and slash, then quickly attack with a roundhouse kick before thrusting once again at his imaginary adversary.
Even though he was focused on his practice, he kept an ear open to his surroundings. If nothing else, Revy had taught him that. In fact, that was the reason he was wary of his environment. Ever since the incident in the Aperture, Savio avoided the woman as those she was cursed with the Blight. She was Sayren’s lover after all and it was only a matter of time until the truth came out about how her ankle had been broken. He knew what he had allowed himself to do was horrible, and he hated himself for it… But he had no intention of being murdered by that beast of a woman.
His paranoia of the Long Swords Teacher had become so profound that he both locked and blocked his bedroom door at night. He was not over reacting in the least bit either. When Revy found out (and she will) she was going to go after him. Perhaps that was why he had been training so much since he had hurt Sayren; he was subconsciously trying to prepare for the inevitable.
It was only a matter of time….

Revy woke up quite late in the afternoon. Sayren had kept her awake for a long time that night, just trying out her rapidly increasing bedskills. If only the girl understood that the woman also had to train herself, so she could train others better. But alas... even she couldn't resist the urge to jump into bed with her much younger lover. However, her bed was empty, besides herself, when she woke up. Sayren had to have woken up earlier and gone out. She was glad that the broken foot had been healed by now.
After having heaved herself from bed, she started on putting on her armor. She had gotten quite handy at it by now, and thus she had it on in only a few chimes. She didn't even forget the gorget, nor the helmet. But she didn't clap down the visor. It impaired her vision too much. So she grabbed her greatsword, slinging it onto her shoulder, and longsword. Then it was off to the training court. She had to get in some training today.
And upon arrival she saw... Savio... the guy with whom she still had to have a word. Oh great, her day ruined just by the mere sight of mister pathetic that went down because of a single blow to the head. Bah, he wasn't even worth her time, but since he was a student, she still had to teach him if he asked for it. "Oi you, pathetic guy. I still gotta have a word with you. And I'm sure you know what it's about.", she said rather angry. She put up a tone that let it seem as if she knew what had happened, yet still wished to know what Savio had to say to defend himself. |

It would be my petching luck, wouldn’t it? He thought darkly to himself when he heard Revy’s voice call out to him. In an act of slight defiance, he continued on with his training without even looking in her direction. Savio’s thrusts and slashes only became more forceful to show his nervousness that he hid from his face.
“Is this about what happened to Sayren?” Savio asked in hard tone, the majority of his focus still on his form and attacks. She tried to bluff that she knew exactly what had went down, but Savio knew better. If she knew everything, he would have been dead the moment she found out. That also told Savio that Sayren didn’t tell Revy everything, probably only enough to sate the woman’s concern.
Regardless, Savio was going to feel the older woman’s wrath and he didn’t think he was ready for that. And in all honesty, it wasn’t really any of Revy’s business. He understood that Revy was Sayren’s lover but what had happened down there was between him and Say.

Oh how great. Mister was gonna ignore the mercenary. Well... petch him then. She was going to go serious on him. No time for games, no nice woman anymore. He was going to pay attention to her, even if he didn't want to. So she clapped down her vizor, dropped the greatsword, which hit the ground hard, along with her longsword and grabbed a wooden greatsword from the rack. Right now she was doing the most to intimidate him the moment he'd look at her.
"You know... it's bad for your health if you keep ignoring me. And YES IT'S ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO SAYREN. Don't you dare brusk it off. I know that more happened then she told me. How else could she have had a broken foot. You don't get a broken foot from just tripping. So either you gonna tell me what really happened, or I'm going to beat you into the infirmary." The mercenary caught herself almost yelling. God she was pissed off.
She walked over to Savio, no almost stamped her way over. "Stop that pathetic swinging of your sword and face me. You were there, so you were at fault that her foot got broken. You don't like that reasoning? I don't petching care. I'm still holding you responsible." |

Savio sighed, still avoiding looking at her. “I’m not ignoring you, Revy. I am just not going to let you bother me like last time.” Savio then stopped training with his gladius and looked at Revy, and his eyes widened slightly. “Tavasi…” Savio murmured quietly to himself as he felt his heart start to race. Yup… He was going to regret angering her. He swallowed hard and tried to school his face to hide at least some of the fear he felt. If push comes to shove and he can’t handle her anymore, he knew beyond all doubt that he could easily out run her.
He held his wooden weapon tightly in his left hand until his knuckles blanched, but at least they didn’t shake. He held on to the knowledge that he was faster than her, and he was fully healed this time around. A simple strike to the head was not going to take him down like last time. He turned to face Revy fully. He already knew what he was going to tell her and what he wasn’t going to tell her, since he had went over this situation five times already in his mind since two days after her hurt Sayren.
“I broke her ankle.” Savio admitted calmly. “We had gotten into an argument in the aperture and she attacked me with a kick. I caught her foot, but then she twisted her body while I held her foot and it broke. I… I had thought I saw Ximal in there, and he told me that Sayren had tampered with his gear in an attempt to kill him. I confronted her about it, and I will admit… I wasn’t thinking correctly. All I could think about was ‘How could she betray Ximal like that?’ but it wasn’t until after the fight that I realized that I had been deceived, because the Ximal I had seen wasn’t him but something else..”
Savio left it off at that, because the fear he had felt when he saw the white eyed Ximal crept up on his and constricted his throat… The pure EVIL that had come from the Dark God still felt like a taint on his skin even then. The instant change of expression on Savio’s face, going from calm and slightly annoyed to completely terrified was clear as day. He still had nightmares of the Evil Ximal’s face, and how he had pointed at him with that smile… A small tremble ran through the acrobat’s body. Savio was not ashamed to admit that he had been scared shykeless.

The moment the guy turned around, a brief flash of some feeling went over his face. Revy couldn't quite make out what it was, but it sure wasn't something that meant confidence at least. She could tell that much because he swallowed hard. However, judging from the tone of his voice, he seemed.... calm? Right, ok... so the intimidation didn't quite work. Well... he'd feel it if he didn't tell the whole truth.
So... he was the one who broke her foot. Okay..... that... meant... rage. The woman was furious. This guy DARED to break Sayren's foot? The reason he gave didn't even come CLOSE to justifying his action. And how could Savio even believe that Ximal would die off just from a bit of tampering with his gear. That guy was almost invincible. She knew, because she had fought him twice now.... and twice she got beaten badly. She still hated to admit that.
"Oooooookay, I'm sure that you are prepared for what I got in store for you then? Also... if I find out that you've been hiding something from me.... I'll make sure you will regret it the rest of your life.", she said as she prepared herself to beat some sense into this guy. She took her fighting stance, right foot leading, left foot behind. A solid stance, easy to maintain and without many openings. She held her training's greatsword in front of her, straight and tipped forward. "Get into stance, I'll allow you the first blow.", she said full of confidence. |

Savio slipped once again into a fighting stance, his boots digging into the sand… Sand… Oooh, I have an idea. His eyebrows raised in surprise. The woman was cocky, but did she doubt him that much too just hand him the first move? She was going to regret that. By Tavasi, he was going to prove to her that he was not as pathetic as she thought.
He intended on giving her a taste of her own medicine. Once Revy was set, Savio attacked by kicking up a wave of sand that hit her directly in the face. If some of it went into her visor, she would momentarily be distracted from the sand in her eyes. If she was distracted, Savio would charge forward with trained speed and grace to kick the wooden great sword from her hand. If he disarmed her, he would then proceed to take his gladius and aim a hard swing at her head. Even though she was wearing a helm, the force would be enough to make her head spin slightly, like having your head inside a giant bell when its struck. He would follow the attack to her head by dropping low and spinning his body to kick her legs out from under her.
He was not going to hesitate, he was not going to stop, and he was sure as petch not going to show this woman mercy. She certainly didn’t when he was wounded while they were training, and stuck his head when he clearly was in pain from a previous head injury… He still couldn’t quite remember the exact location of where his family’s farm was.

The mercenary payed close attention to the guy in front of her. Even though she was wearing armor and they were using training weapons, she didn't want to lose. Because of this, she could see the sand attack coming and turned her head in time to not get the load into her visor. However, because of this, she didn't see the guy dashing forward.
His kick connected hard with her hands, but because she was experienced in combat itself, she only gripped the sword tighter. However, she now only held it with one hand and it was sent away from him. If she had wanted to counter attack, it was impossible. Well for now at least. Once she'd get better with it, surely she would be able to swing it back quickly.
But now she had her eyes on him again and saw the blow towards her head coming. She quickly brought up her free arm to catch the blow before it'd hit her head. Despite wearing armor, she felt the blow reverberating throughout her arm. It didn't hurt, but it was annoying. Because she blocked his attack, the momentum was a little out of the guy's body, giving the mercenary just enough time to shift her feet, so that the moment he'd hit them, the force would be partially redirected upwards.
His assault failed most of it's objectives. She didn't lose her weapon, she didn't get struck to her head, nor did she get her feet swiped from under her. "Is that all? I have to admit, that sand attack was a good one. Nice move. Guess it's my turn now, huh?" And with that, she gripped her own weapon with both her hands, and just swung it towards the man. While she aimed for his mid-riff, it went off course more towards his hips. Despite her experience with the longsword, the greatsword handled quite differently. However, she was still able to rely even a little on her longsword experience, because of them both being swords.
Depending on wether it'd connect, one way or another, she'd follow it up by swinging it upwards and then bringing it down on top of the man. If it hadn't hit... she'd step in and swing it around, for another mid-riff swing... which yet again went off course, this time towards his shoulders. |

Savio cursed under his breath as he quickly stood back up and put distance between himself and Revy while she was talking. He held his Gladius at the ready as he prepared for her attack though he was very shocked that she complemented him in her own, snarky way.
Finally, Revy attacked with a swing at his middle, which he dodged by stepping back. She was slow to recover which gave him time to anticipate her next attack which was a downward slash. Savio raised his Gladius and braced it with the open palm of his other hand to block the blow. The hit jarred his arms slightly but it didn’t bother the man who was used to free-running. Instead, he kicked out with his right leg and planted his boot against her upper abdomen to either knock her down or to push her back since her balance was compromised by the awkward attack.
The kick would upset her movements, and the swing to his shoulders went higher and Savio was able to redirect it even higher with his weapon so that it went over his head and missed him entirely and left her open once more. He realized then that even though longer weapons had more power and range, they were slower and useless to close quarters combat, and he fully planned on utilizing that flaw completely.
He didn’t give her a chance to recover as he attack swiftly, his smaller and lighter weapon moving faster than her’s as he moved in closer and jabbed out at her chest with his sword, trying to find some flaw in her armor, but while she was distracted by his attacks with his gladius, he reached out with his other hand and gripped a hold onto her visor of her helm and yanked, if he was successful, he would pull her forward and he would toss her to the ground. His reflexes were honed by constant free running, acrobatics, and persistent training. Yes, it was a cheap move but he was sure she would have done the same to him if he had been wearing his own armor. If she hit the ground, he would once again attempt to disarm her by kicking her sword wide.
And, if all of that was successful, while she was down, he would venture a hard punt to her head with his boot. More or less returning the favor she so kindly ventured upon him the last time they had met.

The guy managed to dodge her first attack, and block her second. Drats. She wasn't skilled enough with her weapon at all. That kick had done it's job at at least upsetting Revy's balance. Yeah... no, this was not going to work. It'd be best to drop that weapon right now, before she was going to seriously lose. But first, she'd have to get the speed of combat to drop slightly, so she could get rid of the weapon.
Then the hit came... obviously. However, the guy made a mistake. He didn't have a hammer, nor a mace. So why the petch was he attacking her chest? She just stood there, solid, while taking the blow. It didn't do anything. Just a small thud. She didn't even feel anything. And then.... he made a very big mistake. He didn't properly look if Revy was distracted as he reached for her visor. So in reaction, she let go of her weapon with her right hand, grabbing his right after.
"Big mistake, idiot.", was all she said when she suddenly yanked him closer. And while she did that, she brought up her knee to slam it into his gut. If it'd hit, she'd then bring her weapon above the guy's head, slamming it into it while he was recovering. Most likely he was going to the ground, so the moment he'd hit it, she'd give him a firm kick to the side of his chest. The points he had scored by that sand attack were gone already. He blew it by underestimating her plate armor. |
