[The Bent Arrow] Flying Arrows (Erade)

Azira felt sick. The Yasi had beaten her. It didn't matter how close it had been, she'd still won.

She watched Erade. The girl was still standing, unmoving. She'd probably closed her eyes again as she took the shot and had no doubt been nervous to open them. So much had rested on that shot and it had worked out in the girl's favour. The younger girl's posture changed and Azira knew that she'd finally worked up the courage to view the result. She was going to gloat, she was certain of it. In her position, she would have done the same. If some girl had bragged about being superb at archery and Azira had beaten her then she never would have shut up about it. Her big mouth had gotten her into this situation, had made her a failure.

When Erade came over to her, Azira could have sworn she swaggered. She gritted her teeth as the girl inquired about the hunting trip. Glancing up, she saw the self-satisfied smirk on the Yasi's face. Something inside the Avora snapped. She leaped to her feet and got in her face. "Get that smug look off your face or I'll knock it off for you," she spat, her eyes blazing with rage. "If you mention this to anyone, anyone at all and I'll make you regret it. You can go on the petching hunting trip if you keep your petching mouth shut, understand?" she snarled, prodding Erade in the chest hard.

She was furious by the way this girl was standing there as bold as brass, silently lording her win over her. In that instant, Azira hated her. She wanted to do the Yasi girl serious harm but somehow she refrained, perhaps to keep some shred of her dignity, to show that she was a woman of her word.

[The Bent Arrow] Flying Arrows (Erade)

To say Azira was angry was a serious understatement. The shorter girl was livid. Her pride hurt and on the verge of tears, the Avora got up in Erade face and sneered at her. "Get that smug look off your face or I'll knock it off for you!" She went on to threaten Erade if she told anyone about her lost she would make her regret it, even poking her hard in her chest.

Erade eyes grew wide at the sudden burst of violence and backed up some from Azira, rubbing her chest where she had poked her. "Err.. I wasn't planning on telling anyone. This was between you and I, no one else. But yes I understand."

Gathering her used arrows, she shoved them in her quiver and turned to leave the Avora, in the archery ranges by herself. Maybe she shouldn't have gloated so much. Despite the tension of the competition, she had hoped to become friends with the fiery red head. To be honest, as of late Erade didn't have many friends except her pet nightingale, Noralth. Everyone else was an acquaintance.

"Let me know when you want to go hunting," Erade barely said past a whisper. She didnt care if Azira heard her or not at this point because as she walked away she started crying. She knew she was being a bit of a brat and the older girl is hurting too from her lost. At the moment, the yasi didnt care.

[The Bent Arrow] Flying Arrows (Erade)

Postby Azira on September 8th, 2013, 2:35 pm

Azira felt a grim satisfaction as the girl backed away from her, her eyes wide in surprise and fear. The Yasi had realised her error in angering her. She stuttered about having no intention of telling anyone but Azira didn't believe that for a second. If she hadn't threatened her then everybody in Wind Reach would have known. It would have been a juicy piece of gossip that an Avora huntress had been beaten by a Yasi and there was no way Erade would have kept that information to herself. She could only hope that the younger girl would keep her mouth shut now.

Despite her win, the girl looked dejected as if she had been the one who'd just humiliated herself. Azira continued to glare at her as the girl gathered her used arrows and began to trudge away forlornly, mumbling something about letting her know when the trip would be. When Erade had her back to her, Azira's face changed, early expressing how hurt she was by her loss. It was her own fault for bragging so much about it but she'd been so confident in her abilities and she'd lost.

She moved to collect her own arrows, her shoulders slumped when she heard the sniffling sound. Erade was still close to the range, close enough that Azira could hear her crying. The girl's shoulders shook with the force of her sobs and it was clear that she was quite upset.

Frowning in puzzlement, Azira watched girl's retreating back for a few moments. Why on earth is she upset? she wondered. Azira was the one who'd lost, not Erade. In fact, the girl had achieved something to be proud of so there was no reason for her to be upset. Unless her bullying of the younger girl had done it. Groaning, she stomped over to collect her arrows before jogging after the Yasi.

"Erade, wait up!" she called as she caught up to the girl, stopping in front of her. Yep, she was properly crying, snotting and everything. Azira sighed. Unable to believe that she was doing this, she extended her hand for Erade to shake. "I'm sorry if I upset you. Friends?" she asked, watching the girl anxiously for her reaction.

[The Bent Arrow] Flying Arrows (Erade)

Postby Erade on September 9th, 2013, 12:04 am

As much as she wanted to quickly retreat off the Bent Arrow and get as far as she could from the Avora, Erade couldn't seem to make her feet move any faster than a slow drudge. Partially due to her stuck in her sense of negative emotions.

What did I expect beating a hot headed huntress? Erade dejected. But I really want to go on that hunting trip.. she answered herself.

Erade was in a pitiful state, when Azira yelled out to wait up. Face all wet, and snot running from her nose at a point that no matter how many times she sniffled it wouldn't stop. The yasi thought Azira had called her so she could further threaten her further but to her surprise The older girl held out her hand.

Wiping her nose on her arm, she looked at the Avora's hand. She didn't understand at first the gesture."I'm sorry if I upset you. Friends?" The yasi stared at Azira's hand for a bit. It obviously took the older girl a lot to apologize and make up. Wiping her nose on her arm, she started to shake with the same very hand but took it back at the last second.

Grinning from ear to ear, Erade decided to lock her arms around Azira in a big bear hug instead lifting her off the ground some. "OH YES! YES! would love to be your friend!" she giggled.

Erade was already planning out things for the two of them to do when they had some time off. First thing on her mind was that hunting trip, it will be so much fun!

[The Bent Arrow] Flying Arrows (Erade)

Postby Azira on September 9th, 2013, 2:46 pm

Azira's nose wrinkled in disgust as the younger girl wiped her nose on her arm. Gods, did she have to do that in front of me? I mean, how disgusting is that, she thought. She had a strong urge to retract her hand in case the girl gave her something contagious. Don't be such a chick, she chided, forcing herself to continue to hold out her hand. Erade just stared at Azira's hand as if she didn't know what it was. She rolled her eyes, wondering if it was worth her while trying to befriend the girl at all.

The Yasi wiped her nose again and took her hand at last to shake it. She had to fight not to pull it back but luckily the girl released it quickly. Sighing with relief that the contact was over, Azira smiled hesitantly in reply to the girl's grin. Her smile vanished the second the girl embraced her however. Her body froze in place, every cell in her body protesting at her touch. She didn't hug people! Ever! She couldn't stand the contact at all.

"Let go, let go, let go!" she shrieked in panic as the girl lifted her up in her excitement. "I don't like hugs, get off!" she wailed, pulling out of the Yasi's grasp and shuddering.

Erade had Azira in a big bear hug but the yasi was not ready for the response she received from the older girl. Erade was expecting some yays, or some make up for the tension that just took place, really anything but this. Erade should have noticed how much the shorter girl tensed up just from the handshake but in her excitement, the tiny girl couldn't help herself. Instead the younger girl was greeted first with the older girl freezing up but then she did a 180 and started pushing and shouting 'get off'. Azira was going into a panic attack, breathing heavy with shakes.

"Whoa, Azira are you ok? I'm sorry I didn't mean anything by it.. it was just a hug."

Erade was unsure what to do, clearly hugging or contact in general was a big no-no in Azira's book. The younger girl was unsure how hugging would put her in such a state, something bad in her past maybe? Erade shook her head to free herself from her tangent thoughts. She wanted to help her out but how? The yasi quickly thought it through and the obvious idea was that she needed to calm her down. Since she couldn't do it by touching her it had to be with words.

"Azira, I'm sorry for hugging you. You need to calm down and slow your breathing before you hyperventilate." Erade said softly. She was unsure if the Avora was paying attention to her cause the older girl was still shaking. "Here um.. sit down right here and focus on your breathing."

[The Bent Arrow] Flying Arrows (Erade)

Postby Azira on September 10th, 2013, 11:26 am

Relief washed over the Avora as the Yasi released her. Breathing heavily and shaking, she tried to calm herself down. She really wished the girl hadn't touched her, couldn't understand why she had. It was weird as far as she was concerned that people touched each other so much, hugging, touching, holding hands. She had no problem with it if she accepted the contact but she was always unnerved when people pounced on her like that.

She waved the younger girl off as she went to sit down. "Oh, just shut up! I'm fine, or rather I will be when you leave me alone," she told the girl, rolling her eyes at her. She managed to slow her breathing once she got sitting down and was comforted by the thought that Erade wouldn't attempt to have any physical contact with her again in the near future. "Just never do that again. Unless I give you permission. If I give you permission then it's alright but I wouldn't do that very often," Azira explained. She undid her bun so as to have something to do with her hands.

Glancing up at the Yasi, she found her staring at her like a worried rabbit. "What? I'm fine. Do you have to stare at me like that? It's very rude you know," Azira snapped, crossing her arms across her chest to hide their shaking. It was ridiculous the way she reacted when another person touched her and it was embarrassing. She didn't want Erade thinking that she was strange in the head or anything. She decided to change the subject.

"About that hunting trip. I have no idea when we can go on it. I have to make sure I haven't got anything else happening and I also have to get you off classes for a day which is easier said then done," she sighed. She was dreading when she'd have to ask the Yasi's teachers for permission. That wouldn't be a fun day at all.

Erade was relieved that Azira was okay because she really had no idea how to help someone having an anxiety attack of sorts. She was on a verge of having one herself and then that would have been an interesting sight, two girls practically flopping around like a bunch of fishes out of water. Well if there was anyone else at the archery ranges that is.

"I wonder what happened in the past that made her refuse the slightest contact like that." Erade pondered as Azira shooshed her away. "Guess she doesn't like anyone worrying about her either." Note mentally taken. Azira intrigued the younger girl more and more as time went on. "Wonder if I can get her to talk about herself some. Anything at all. Azira is going to be one tough egg to crack though."

Azira broke Erade's inner dialog with herself to explain that if she opening accept contact that's fine but otherwise no and don't be hugging her again like that. The younger girl barely noticed but the Avora was still slightly shaking but was trying to hide it by using simple motions.

To change the subject and to distract Erade's wandering eyes, the huntress brought up the hunting trip. "About that hunting trip. I have no idea when we can go on it. I have to make sure I haven't got anything else happening and I also have to get you off classes for a day which is easier said then done."

In everything that had happened in the last few chimes, Erade miraculously have forgotten about her prize. The yasi was grinning again and could barely hold in her excitement again. "No worries about my teacher, trust me. Ms. Piko will be more than happy to get rid of her "problem child" for the day. I bet she would even consider the day a holiday." Erade giggled at the thought of Ms. Piko doing a victory dance on her desk cause she was free of Erade for a day. The further she thought about it her giggled turned into laughter.

[The Bent Arrow] Flying Arrows (Erade)

Postby Azira on September 13th, 2013, 10:33 am

The teen was relieved that she wouldn't have any difficulty having Erade excused from classes. It was good to know that the girl's teacher wasn't fierce but was a little uneasy at the idea that taking the girl away for the day would relieve the woman of a burden. Surely Erade couldn't be that bad, right?

The Avora watched as the Yasi erupted in a fit of giggles. She could certainly understand how the teacher would have a problem with the girl. She was giddy all the time, bursting with energy and excitement. It worried the somber huntress a bit. She couldn't remember ever being like that when she was a Yasi. She'd always been very serious and mature for her age. Perhaps it was the death of her mother or perhaps it was just her way of coping with the bullying of her fellow youths. They'd always been cruel towards her because she'd never fit in, they'd always seen her as strange and so had made her life hell because of it. It wasn't something that Azira was comfortable thinking about even if it was a distraction from Erade's manic laughter.

Azira grabbed the girl's shoulders, unable to take her laughing anymore, and shook her vigorously. "My gods, will you just shut up, or I won't be bringing you anywhere! You're such an annoying little girl! GET A GRIP!" she screamed in the Yasi's face, hoping that that would get through to her. Surely she'd snap out of it now. The Avora would be perfectly contented then so long as Erade didn't get upset and start crying, that would be terrible. Maybe she should try to fix that problem before it happened. "Just calm down, okay? It isn't that funny and you're annoying me. Sorry for shouting," she said, her voice much calmer now.

[The Bent Arrow] Flying Arrows (Erade)

Postby Erade on September 22nd, 2013, 2:41 am

Erade couldn't stop laughing. As she thought more and more about her teacher Ms. Piko celebrating, the more the ideas and images got wilder by the chime. She was laughing so hard her stomach was staring to hurt, tears flowing from her eyes, and her laughs were turning into raspy breaths.

It was only when the fiery redhead began shaking her and yelling at her to get a grip did she truly stop. The Avora had gone into what Erade deemed her 'scary mode'. Erade wasn't about to start crying again but the yelling did definitely bring her back to reality. The yasi must have had a look on her face that said she was going to cry again because Azira quickly apologized after.

The younger girl didnt expected that and offered her own apology, "I'm sorry about that.. um my mind got away for a moment, it does that sometimes." she explained. Erade was definitely getting a crash course in learning about Azira today. Despite learning these little things, the yasi still was no closer in knowing the real Azira and the huntress was a complete mystery to her. They were practically opposites.

An awkward silence grew between them. Erade wasn't exactly sure what to say even though she knew she had questions to ask the older girl. Not enjoying the slight tension, the yasi had to say something, anything.. She was staring to fidget were she stood and her nervous habit of biting her lip.

"I'm not as bad as I seem, I promise. Just have alot of spirit." Erade said while smiling slightly at the words her teachers used for her. She wasn't sure why she said that but she did want to ease the Avora and not have her second guess about taking her on the hunting trip.

"I'm bright and a quick learner when it comes to stuff that interest me so I will try not to be a burden to you. I really want to go hunting.." the tiny girl trailed off.
