Vetari cringed inwardly at Daratur’s words. Blasphemy? Surely it wouldn’t come to that… but if it did, would I be strong enough? He gulped in fear, but within himself he felt a stirring. This was the right thing to do. It did not matter what the others thought of him, of his new take on their traditions. What mattered was that he was doing what was right. What mattered is that he pleased Viratas. In that moment Vetari became the most stubborn man to live beneath a mountain. “If you two will stand by me, there is no way we can fail. If I have the backing of the church…well, things may get ugly, but at the very least the open minded amongst the pious will turn an ear to listen. I hope our people see the wisdom in this as you both have.” He smiled, fangs prodding his lower lip as he rose, slipping an arm around the shoulders of his companions. “We’d best get started,” he said with a chuckle. “Revolution is in the air.”
