513 AV. 15th of Fall, 10th bell 52nd chime.

Another day in the fields, another training bout coming on. Kreig wasn't quite expecting it actually, it wasn't quite surprising really, but the fact he was up against the good doctor had him feeling emotions that were a mix of oddness and amusement. He hadn't really interacted with the good doctor much in the pasts seasons, the occasional hello and small talk, but nothing much at all 'My fault I suppose, even when we're roommates I've never bother chatting up with him' He felt guilty for that, but there was no time to dwell on that. Still, he was surprised to hear that Sera Natasha approached the good doctor's patron to ask for a spar, just feels odd

He was wearing his breastplate armor and grieves, his longsword in his right hand and a round 30 inch in diameter shield in the left. The weather was dreary as it had been since the 10nth, and these days it looked like it would be drearier as droplet of water fell from the sky. Part of him was ecstatic to fight the good doctor, he always wondered how capable he would be in a fight. He knew that since he was both he and Fallon's senior for far longer he'd definitely be ahead of them when it came to the required skills, though he did wonder about combat experience.

Kreig knew that he himself needed more experience with the sword shield, he was hardly lacking in combat experience, but weapons experience were a difficult for him. Sera Natasha simply stood to the side with her sword sheathed and tip touching the ground, his hands resting atop of the pommel. Kreig swung his blade in various motions, drilling himself as he prepared himself mentally for the duel....well spar but it felt as much a duel as Kreig swung the blunt iron blade in his hand. Unlike the ones Gerald at the fighter's pit owned, even blunt theses were much more balanced for use and Kreig was glad for that.

'Just gotta enjoy this....follow your mind and instincts' Kreig thought as a small grin crept up to his face 'Win or lose, this should prove fun'

[training grounds] Brutal precision (Orion)

Dinah never gave Orion a break, save for an occasional day to spend with Emily. Otherwise it was train, train, train. The sword, the shield, the bow, the horse, and how she was making him pick up the lance. He thought that today was going to be one of those coveted rest days, but he'd found out when he met with her that she had a very different plan in mind.

"You'll be sparring other squires today, Orion. No rest for the wicked, after all."

The last time she made him play this game, he was humiliated by a 15 year old boy. The child had disarmed him and sent him tumbling to his ass without so much as breaking a sweat. Other than a few rounds with Fallon, he'd spent most of his time sparring with Dinah herself. She was a harsh mistress, always forcing Orion to give his all or risk some serious pain. He'd suffered some rather serious injuries at her hand, but it was no surprise she'd risen up the ranks so quickly. After they'd gotten past whatever emotions were holding them up, Orion had finally started to bloom into the warrior which they'd both envisioned when he joined the knights.

Kreig?

He'd be fighting his suitemate, Kreig Messer, at least to start off. He'd barely exchanged words with the man, none of note since he tried to give the young man advice on women. He'd hardly seen he and Fallon together, so he assumed that it probably hadn't gone well. Though it was possible that training simply kept them too busy for anything else. Orion knew that feeling all too well.

Orion's armament was nearly identical to Kreig's. Armor across his body, a long sword in his right hand, but strapped to his left arm was instead a kite shield. He'd experimented with the rounder shields, but the longer protection offered by a kite shield was found more advantageous. He protected him on his mount as well as giving him some additional defense when on the ground.

Dinah and Orion both walked up to meet Natasha and her squire. The two women were somewhat familiar with one another. There was likely a bit of gamesmanship in their decision to have their protegees face each other in combat.

"It's been awhile, Kreig," said Orion, giving a quick nod in greeting. "I suppose we shouldn't tarry, hmm?" The squire's blue eyes scanned his 'foe'. He didn't know anything about the man, truth be told. They'd lived together, but they didn't actually live together. They were strangers in the same house.

Orion drew his sword, waiting for Kreig's to acknowledge he was prepared for combat. The former doctor wished to be anywhere but here today, but if Dinah was going to force this upon him, then there was no sense but to make a good time of it.

Kreig grinned as he saw the good doctor approach with his own Patron 'Well isn't she the scary looking lass' Kreig thought. Orion was very much equal in armaments to Kreig, save for the shield, while Kreig hadn't experiance with other shields, he didn't believe he'd be using it much once he reaches the requirement with it.... still, he had to use it now if he ever wished to be considered a candidate for knighthood. For now he looked at Orion, his form well practiced and more confident than Kreig's own 'Those eyes look like they're already seeking out any holes in my defense' Which Kreig found to be quite unsurprising from a man who's former work involved healing people, examining everything thoroughly as to save a persons life to the best of his ability.

But while the man was practiced with his chosen weapons, Kreig felt he could still keep up with his own combat experiance 'I simply find a way to adapt them here' He thought as he pointed his blade at the man "Nice to see you Orion, I do hope you don't intend to hold back on my account...I can bite with the best of 'em" Kreig said with a wide grin.

" Alright boys, treat this battle as you would a real one. Anything goes in this fight, all except death and serious injury....Now whenever your ready....FIGHT" Kreig grinned at those words, anything goes is anything goes. He lowered the tip of his blade closely to the dirt of the earth while raising his shield in a defensive posture, playing the defensive fool while simply wished to see how good his senior is....if he closed, he would kick up some dirt and dust using his blade then spring forward with a shield bash.

If that were somehow avoided, he's already have his shield raised for any attack and if Orion went for Kreig's right he'd swing his sword back to prevent the man from doing anything, if the to left he'd swing his shield to bash the man away.

"I've no intention of holding back, Kreig. I desire that this be over as soon as possible. I pray that you indulge me one way or another." Orion raised his shield, patting the flat of the blade against the front of his guard. He knew nothing of Kreig, how he fought, what his history was, but he suspected the very opposite was true for himself. Orion's history was far more open to the world than he'd like. Some of it was his own fault, others bits of it were whispers on the wind, winding their way through the corridors of Syliras.

He had no doubt that Kreig knew Orion had barely picked up a blade until he joined the knighthood, less than a year prior. He was so very green in the ways of combat, a few bar scuffles about all he'd had to his name until he began patrolling the city and thereabouts. A couple of wicked scars over his left eye were the foundation for a change into what he was now.

Orion proceeded cautiously, raising his shield to his center, blue eyes peeking up over the top of the shield. As he closed into range, a kick of dust shot up and Kreig lunged forth with a shield bash. A bit of the dust got in the squire's eyes, but the packed dirt of a training area didn't allow for much to get in the air, not much more than if they'd been roughhousing in the area for awhile. A slight burn teased his eyes, but the awkward swing of his shield remained his focus.

Orion found himself recoiling to avoid wasting needless energy absorbing unnecessary blows. His feet quickly traced backwards as he flung his shield out to the side, cringing at the gust of air caused by Kreig's swing nipped at his skin. The squire didn't waste any time in trying to retaliate.

The heavy kite shield found its way back towards Kreig, the edge of it being directed at his foe's own shield as though he was punching it, trying to force it aside. As his shield passed center mass, Orion stepped forward, leaning down while bringing his elbow back quickly, then just as quickly thrusting the blade forward, using the momentum of his body to add a bit of additional power to the low stab.
