Day 38, Season Fall, 513 AV
Rinya watched in silence as Jorin imitated her maneuvers over her the bow. Rather, her eyes seemed stuck on his arms. They were straining from the workout, and Rinya almost felt guilty. She should have worked him into the archery a little more slowly. She knew how his arms must feel, burning and weak. But Jorin never did anything by half and repeated the steps twice more before he gave in.
"I... I think I'm done for tonight," he admitted, as he rubbed his sore arms. "But, I mean, you did promise that I'd get one kiss."
Jorin’s grin sent her heart straight into her stomach. He looked like he was looking for trouble, and she had no doubt that he was aiming that sort of trouble her way. She stood frozen, as Jorin approached her, wrapping his arms around waist much like he had earlier. She didn’t resist, there were several reasons not to. She did promise him a goodnight kiss for one, and another was she wanted him to kiss her. All things considered there was nothing wrong with wanting that from him.
As Jorin leaned in to kiss her, his right hand brushed against her skin of her neck, sending shiver throughout her body. But it was a simple kiss. The same kind that melted her on the spot; and Rinya couldn’t stop her hands from coming up to frame his face. She loved the way his scuff scratched against her palm. She loved the way he kissed her like she was the only person in the world. She loved… well him.
She wasn’t able to list everything about his childhood, or his parents. His favorite food, or his favorite poet. She wasn’t able to claim to even seeing him act on stage yet. But she knew his determination, his gentle heart. She knew how much acting meant to him, and how he never gave up on anything he deemed important. And she could feel it across the bond. The feelings he had for her. Rinya seriously considered even if it didn’t last between them—it was worth it to feel it now.
Something shifted in him—around him. One moment he was completely tender, intent on showing her his feelings. And in the next his grip became tighter, and the kiss that melted her insides shifted. It moved across her skin, robbing her of breath as usual. Rinya was only half surprised though at this point. Ever since the hospital every kiss they had flared with desire to some extent. But even with the desire between them, Rinya could still feel it. His love.
Rinya wasn’t even entirely aware of Jorin steering her from her stationary position towards his door. As Jorin’s hand shifted to her buttocks, Rinya gasped against his lips, which if she was honest with herself sounded suspiciously like his name. Her left hand slid from his face to the back of neck, gripping him to her tightly as her right hand slipped down between them to come to a stop over his heart. Even consumed by him, she enjoyed the feeling of his heart against her hand. Beating as wildly as hers was.
Rinya wasn’t entirely sure how, but her foot hooked over her other and she lost her balance. Or would have at least if Jorin didn’t have such a grip on her. But it was enough to cause her lips to separate from his. A moment long enough to realize that technically she only promised him one kiss. Just one. Looking up at him from beneath her lashes Rinya tried to catch her breath. He looked incredibly handsome completely out of breath like she was. So she made a split second decision.
”Petch it…” She growled, sliding her hands up to his shoulders. In a swift movement that generally she would have never pulled, Rinya leaped up, wrapping her legs firmly around his waist. She let her arms wrap around his neck, firmly pressing her lips back to his. Her entire body ached in way she had never felt before him. But it wasn’t at all the painful kind. She knew if she let it, it would fade. It had before, but Jorin just always seemed to relight the feeling. Stronger every time.
