Syveris tried to calm herself, but she didn't exactly believe the stranger. He said that Alori would be alright, but what if she didn't? What if the air was too toxic, and it had killed her? When Turrin put his hands on her shoulders, she tried to focus on his voice. She took a deep breath, trying not to release it too fast. The Avora wasn't actually afraid for herself, and not knowing what was happening on the mountain was driving her mad. However, Turrin was managing to be calm, maybe the only one amongst the four of them. Taking another deep breath, Syveris closed her eyes. The panic was finally going away, but the fear was still there.

"I'll help you" she finally murmured, answering the stranger, although she wasn't sure it was really needed. She just needed to talk. "Of course I'll help you."

She only noticed that the Tavina had arrived when she spoke. Syveris looked at the woman, a little worried to see blood on her. However, she seemed to be fine, and Syveris focused on her request. Truly, the last thing the Avora wanted to do was to work alongside the Dek, and waste precious time that could be spend looking for the others. But, remembering the dead Endal, Syveris couldn't just deny help. What if there was another landslide because they didn't help? More Inarta could die because of that. However, what if others died because they didn't reach them quickly enough?

Syveris looked at Alori, who was trying to stand up. The Avora hurried to her feet, reached to the other girl to help her, glad that she was alright. Then she looked at the other two men, unsure.

"I think we should help... to clean the water." Syveris didn't want to say that, and she didn't want to stay. However, maybe this was their best chance. If there was another landslide, who knows what could happen? "Maybe the masons will be here soon, and then we can keep searching."

[Seasonal Event] Search and Rescue (Alori, Kovac, Turrin)

Kovac moved to Alori's side, wrapping a supportive arm around her waist. The purpose was not solely to steady the revived girl, but to cling to something to help keep himself steady as well. His gaze studied his friend for a moment, searching the hazel eyes to ensure that she was indeed ok. Then Kovac's eyes darted to Turrin and his friend. He nodded, a painful gesture in itself, in greeting and gratitude to the girl. "Kovac." He muttered in a word of introduction.

Then, the Tavina arrived. It was disconcerting to see her in such a condition, bloodied and dirt-stained. But her spirit was certainly strong, and her mind sharp as she worked to created order in the chaos. Though Kovac chafed a bit at authority, the mongrel Avora respected the Tavina and her position. Once she made her plea, Kovac groaned. He wanted to get to Lavira, his concern for her burnt hot, and not knowing Vira and Azira's fate forced him to focus on not panicking in the face of all these people who wanted to plot and plan and debate how to save the whole damn place. Another glance darted to Alori. He knew she was of the same mindset. Thing was, neither of them were in the best shape, and if they went off just the two of them, they may never make it to their friends.

The eyes Kovac gave Alori were desperate. One thing they knew, the passage the Dek were working on was not poisoned, and getting past that would get them that much closer to their loved ones. "I don't want to stop, you know that. But we know its safe as far down as those Dek are working and seemingly the passage beyond." His gaze shifted to Turrin and Syveris. " We will need everyone I think to get to Lavira and Azira. Maybe we should stay to help a bit, then move on." Once they got down to the flooded area, Kovac would not promise how long he would stay if he saw a safe path beyond.

[Seasonal Event] Search and Rescue (Alori, Kovac, Turrin)

Postby Turrin on November 8th, 2013, 4:29 am

A sigh of relief washed over his face when Syveris breathing went back to normal. Part of him wondered if her panic was caused by the gases in the corridor, or if the stress of the day was starting to wear on her. In any case, he would be there to support her if she needed him again. Standing up, Turrin moved away from Alori and put his hand behind his head as he pondered the groups next move. He knew there were multiple ways in to the Aeries. He just needed to find one safe enough for them to head in too. Suddenly, Turrin saw a older woman full off dirt and mud stroll over to their group. The half-Myrian looked closer at her and his eyes went wide when he realized that she was the Matriarch of Wind Reach, the Tavina. The white red hair woman was known to be kind to her subordinates, but she was as tough as any clan matriarch in Taloba. When the Tavina requested there assistance in stabilizing a wall, he held his breath since Kovac didn't seem right in the head at the moment. He knew the Avora was adamant on finding his Lavira, and the side quest might irritate the man further. However, he was surprising accepting of her request. Maybe he was starting to think clearer now?

Turrin gave Alori a sidewards glance and noticed the young Endal was clearly annoyed at the sudden change of plans. It was good for her that she kept what her eyes were saying to herself because she seemed to be burning a hole into the Tavina's head. When he heard Syveris voice agree to help, he knew the young woman was trying her best to control the situation that she was thrown into. When Syveris suggested that they help the Tavina, Turrin gave her a smile and said softly, “I think you are right, Syveris.” Turning to the Kovac, Turrin responded with a nod of agreement. He was happy that Kovac was falling into his line of thinking. He heard from other Endal that Kovac often butted heads with them. Turning his attention to the Tavina, Turrin said respectfully, “We will help secure your passage way, but we need find away into the commons of the Aeries, so if you can tell us anything that could help us get into there. It would be most appreciated, Tavina. However, lets first get the corridor secure.” Giving the honored woman a respectful bow of his head head, Turrin turned around and followed Alori, Kovac, and Syveris to the flood hallway.

This was a great thread. I loved reading about interactions between the PCs and how everyone reacted differently to the catastrophe. It’s a shame it had to end prematurely. If you’ve any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me!
