Well known for it’s expensive prices and glamorous food, the Skyglass Restaurant is focused on the rich and wealthy. Massive skyglass windows cover two out of three of the walls, and are lined with seats and small tables, so patrons can enjoy the magnificent view. The main area contains a small space for waiting near the two wooden doors, the deep red stain and intricate carvings creating a magnificent entrance.
It’s full of similarly colored tables, with comfortable padded seats surrounding each. There are a variety of sizes, from intimate two seaters, to party-sized tables that sit ten. The floor is a piece of art unto itself, a tapestry-like carpet with images of Lhavit, mountains, and Okomo all over it. The walls, on the other hand, are plain and simple, mostly made of skyglass for a good view.
The third wall, the one on the right as you enter, actually holds two doors, both leading out into secluded rooms. One, the larger of the pair, holds two massive tables and an easy entrance to the kitchen, set up for large, private parties. The smaller room is much simpler, with a square wooden table in the center, and four seats around. Compared to the other two rooms, this has no skyglass windows, and instead the walls are covered in expensive pieces of art. The carpets in these rooms are of a simpler design, just one solid color.
The last wall, the one opposite the door, holds the kitchens, an area bustling no matter the time. Customers are not allowed through the small simple door, but fancily dressed waiters and waitresses can be seen striding in or out, carrying steaming plates of food or dirty dishes. The room itself is nearly the size of the other three combined, but has no windows or fancy carpets, instead constructed for simplicity and practicality.
When a patron enters the Skyglass Restaurant, they are immediately greeted by the host or hostess, and directed to an empty table. They’re given simple menus, mostly covered with ‘main of the day’ or ‘soup of the day’, since dishes change frequently as Litia experiments; however, there are side dishes that are permanently on the menu that can be ordered as well. The places are set meticulously, with a pure white napkin on the left, and sparkling silver cutlery in the proper places. Any ordered sides and/or drinks come first; after that are appetizers, then the main course(s), and finally, dessert. All three are delicious and well decorated, with flavourful sauces, well-seasoned vegetables, and meat cooked perfectly. Payment comes last, and tips are expected depending on the waiter or waitresses’ skill.
Though the rooms often have pieces of art for show, they come and go, switching around or disappearing all together. An observant person would notice small price tags on each piece, labeling it a certain amount of Kina. A buyer could easily go to the manager and ask for one of the paintings or sculptures, and would find it in their hands in moments. The Restaurant always has some beautiful art by local artists, and is a great place, other than a gallery, for showing off someone’s work.

Litia Kessel
Name: Litia Kessel
Race: Human
Birthdate: 490 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and cook at the Skyglass Restaurant
Skills: Cooking - 82, Food Preservation - 40, Organization - 18, Painting - 31, Socialization - 15
Languages: Common (Fluent)
Older than she looks, Litia inherited the Skyglass Restaurant at the age of 20 from an old mentor of hers, after the man’s death in 509 AV. She was dumped with control of the entire business and its employees, and little experience with such things. Sure, she could cook better than any she knew, but running things? That was way out of her league. Over the first year of her ownership, business sank and money ran dry. Litia’s lack of skills had caused the restaurant to crash and burn. Luckily, she made a friend with great business skills, and together the two brought the place back to life, with a whole new face. Years later, they now work together, Litia running the kitchen, and her friend running everything else.
Litia herself is a quiet person, though prone to an outbreak every now and then. She’s obsessed with her work, taking pride in every dish she cooks up. Despite her skill, she’s really quite sheltered, hiding from the rest of Lhavit in her own little domain of the kitchen. She generally tries to avoid customer interaction, leaving that to Uat.

Uat Moji
Name: Uat Moji
Race: Human
Birthdate: 494 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Manager at the Skyglass Restaurant
Skills: Mathematics - 55, Organization - 62, Planning - 45, Socialization - 36, Tactics - 69
Languages: Common (Fluent)
A little obsessed with business, and with a knack for numbers, Uat is outgoing and determined. After meeting Litia for the first time in 510 AV, she immediately took to the girl, despite the cook’s protests. Learning of her dilemma, she took it upon herself to bring the Skyglass Restaurant back to life, despite being younger than Litia, and to make money while she was at it. A few years later, her hard work paid off, and the eatery is now a popular and well respected restaurant.
Personality wise, Uat is smart to a little bit of an extreme, obsessing over one project at a time, putting all her though and effort into the thing. At times, it can be a little scary. Still, she gets things done, and gets them done well, and is great with customers. She always welcomes them with a smile, and speaks politely, and is actually a great person to start a conversation with, if she has the time.
