Khida watched the red-haired girl as she worked through her own thoughts, apparently considering what the Kelvic had said. Her face darkened with concentration; she spoke, she signed; and then her expression lightened again, seemingly illuminated by a sudden idea. Did the girl understand what the Kelvic had tried to convey?
Time, she asked, and try dress, she said. Khida set the demonstration shirt back down, not at all as neatly as it had been laid out before, and unthinkingly put the dead bird down with it. "Time, yes," she affirmed; the pigeon would keep a little while, and she had nowhere else pressing to be. "Dress..." The woman didn't seem entirely sold on that notion. She remembered the dress the quiet girl had had her wear, which was fine for talking in but not really better than that shirt overall. But --
"I will try," she agreed, walking over to rejoin Rue. Maybe the red-haired girl would have something different. "What parts?"
