Jorin continued to inch across the back of the rock, his ears peeled for any sound that might indicate Rinya was onto him. But unfortunately the crashing of the surf against the rocks obliterated any delicate noises that might have alerted him to the fact that Rinya was, in fact, on top of the rock, and grinning down at him. Jorin's heart was pounding in his chest, since he was now at a point where he could not actually see her, and had to take it on faith she was still there.

"Jorin you are not going to catch me that way."

It was Rinya's voice, and it came from above him. Jorin's head whipped up to see Rinya's face looking down at him, eyes twinkling with amusement and gorgeous golden-brown locks falling across her face. Jorin groaned; he'd been so careful too! He wondered how Rinya knew he was sneaking up on her. Did he make too much noise? In any case, he pouted slightly as he looked up at her grinning face.

"Hey, how'd you know I was here?" he almost whined. He'd been so sure she couldn't have possibly seen or heard him! With a sigh, Jorin shrugged and decided to climb up after her. After all, her only condition for victory was to "catch her", she never specified it had to be in the water. Unfortunately, the portion of the rock he was directly in front of did not offer any real handholds that were stable.

He had to scramble off to the right until he found a bit of an outcropping, and he hauled himself out of the water, droplets dripping from his shoulders as his arm muscles strained from lifting him bodily out of the surf and onto the rock.

Jorin turned to Rinya with his own smirk as he approached, looking to seize her by the waist as he did before on the beach. Or perhaps just grab her wrist; Rinya hadn't specified what "catching her" was defined as. He had to approach her slowly, both because he knew that a misstep would mean a sprained ankle, and because he was almost mesmerized by the sight of his mate in front of him, so tantalizingly close.

"Rinya," he said with a mischievous grin, as he got ever closer. "Caught you..."

Day 40, Season Fall, 513 AV

The look on Jorin’s face was priceless. She had never seen him look at her like that before, like he had gotten caught doing something he shouldn’t have been. He groaned, and Rinya couldn’t help it any longer. She laughed outright, covering her mouth with one hand in an attempt to keep herself from going completely out of control. And then he made it worse… he pouted at her. Rinya shook her head at him, the effort to control the giggles was causing her chest to hurt slightly. He looked so young, drenched in water and making faces.

"Hey, how'd you know I was here?"

”You can’t beat these eyes Jorin. Not in the daylight.” Rinya teased lightly, shaking one of her index fingers at him in a scolding motion. Really, there wasn’t anywhere else to look. There was no way he was able to hold his breath that long. And the higher ground was always her soft spot anyways. Jorin seemed to debate something, before he started to crawl along the rock. Rinya blinked and cocked her head to the side, watching him.

It only took Jorin a chime or so to find what he was looking for. He found the outcrop and latched onto it much like she had. He pulled himself from the water and suddenly Rinya wanted to edit her previous thoughts. The effort to pull himself from the water made his muscles clearly evident—more than usual. The water running off his body didn’t help much either, as it mapped across his body. He was young, but very much a man. And Rinya ignored the urge to let him catch her.

His innocent face had shifted into a smirk and Rinya straightened her back slightly; however she remained crouched on the edge of the rock. The slick rock actually caused Jorin to have to move slowly. There wasn’t actually that much space between them, it would only take a few well placed steps to be within his reach. Rinya internally debated her choices. She could cheat—or rather change the rules—and shift into her bird form. But that meant he really couldn’t catch her and that would be completely unfair. She was all about making sure Jorin at least stood some kind of chance.

Then there was simply letting him catch her. It was a tantalizing idea really; even if he won she was sure she would still reap some benefit from it. Jorin was never selfish; he always made sure she was happy first and foremost. It was the only reason why she was comfortable enough to play such a game with him. Plus, it was just fun being the one chased instead of doing the chasing. There was no expectations here, other than learning a little bit of swimming and spending time together.

"Rinya, caught you..."

She knew that grin. But Rinya smiled innocently back at him, shrugging her shoulders slightly. ”That’s what you think handsome.” And with that remark, Rinya took her third option. She looked back at the water, leaning forward until she could dive into the water out of his reach. The water felt warmer than before, having been out of the water for several chimes causing her body to cool in the air. She popped up closer to the shore, planting her feet to the sandy beach under the water and crossed her arms over her chest with a triumphant grin.

”Come on Jorin you’re falling behind.” Rinya called out in a sing song like tone.

Jorin hadn't really expected to catch Rinya on the rock. He figured it was too easy. And anything that seemed too good to be true usually was. He wasn't disappointed in this when Rinya just smiled and said, "That’s what you think handsome," before diving back into the water. Jorin sighed. Of course.

With a shrug, Jorin worked his way carefully back down the rock. As he did so, he saw Rinya swim away like a fish, her body smoothly cutting through the water in an elegant line. It was really quite spectacular, in his eyes, to see her do that. And then she popped out of the surf, the water cascading down her curves in a mesmerizing shower of rainbow colors as they caught the sunlight.

"Come on Jorin you’re falling behind," Rinya called out brightly, her sing-song voice floating out over the water.

Jorin gulped, then decided he'd wasted enough time and was low enough. He dove into the water, praying there weren't any sharp rocks where he landed. The cool water wrapped itself around his body and head, and for a moment he enjoyed the feeling before bobbing back up to the surface.

After a few ticks, Jorin was able to right himself and adjust his "aim". Once again he was a bit unhappy with the fact that this particular method of swimming left much to be desired in terms of actually being able to see where you were going. Still, at least it beat drowning.

Once again he laid on his back and started his circling of his arms, making sure to keep them in time with his breathing. Once again he found this method slow but stable. He considered increasing the pace, but he didn't know if he'd go any faster, or if it would completely throw off his rhythm and cause him to just zig-zag like before.

Jorin didn't know how long he'd been swimming. It felt like Bells, even though it was at most a chime or two. He could feel the drag of the surf reduce, and after a while he decided to right himself, his toes digging into the soft sand beneath him as he stood up.

He looked over to see Rinya only a few feet away. He could try to swim the short distance, but the backwards swimming technique took too long to set up. Jorin decided to wade after her, one step in front of the other. It was slower than swimming, but until she taught him how to swim like she did, this would have to do. And if she took off again, Jorin supposed he'd just have to go back to the swimming technique and hope he had better aim.

Day 40, Season Fall, 513 AV

Rinya watched Jorin hit the water—looking a little nervous. But he was doing so much better than the last time they tried to learn how to swim. He began to backstroke towards her, and she figured it would only be fair to let him catch up before she tried to move. He seemed to be getting the hang of it too. In the very least he was starting to move in a straight line. Slow but sure. Rinya pulled her hands behind her back as she waited patiently. Perhaps he would be ready to try treading water again…

As Jorin rose from the water and adjusted himself to find her, Rinya tried to decide what to do next. He wasn’t going to be able to keep this kind of pace up forever. Swimming could be quite exhausting if it wasn’t something the body was used to. While Jorin was fit, Rinya knew well enough that maybe a break was in order. At least a small one from the water. Glancing behind her, she didn’t spot anyone on the beach. It would work well enough.

Jorin began to wade in the water towards her, and Rinya smirked slightly. She waited until he was nearly within arm’s reach before she took a step backwards. For every step he took, she took one back towards the beach. ”I suppose I move just a little too fast for you in the water. Should I even up the odds?” While her tone was teasing, Rinya knew that Jorin actually had more advantage on land than she did. She was fit, but Jorin had been doing more training—even after his injuries. It was something she was actually going to have to remedy—if Jorin would stop asking her to teach him new things with all their spare time. Not that she actually minded…

Rinya felt her feet hit the hot dry sand and she stopped. Really she hadn’t thought about where to go from here. She figured it would be easy enough to take off down the beach. But really she wouldn’t last all that long. Running was not one of the things she excelled at. At least, not over the sand. But technically the game was still on as well. Twitching her nose slightly, she took in Jorin’s form before she snagged onto an idea.

He was just reaching the edge of the water, Rinya shifted. Bolting forward she leapt at him, but she either misjudged herself or him and as she wrapped her arms around his neck, the force of her body hitting his tilted them backwards just enough that Jorin lost his balance and landed in the water butt first. Rinya gasped as the water hit her face, but luckily it was just waves breaking across Jorin’s back. Sitting back in his lap, Rinya pushed her wet hair from her face and looked up at his eyes.

”Looks like I caught you.” Rinya replied sheepishly. She hadn’t meant to bowl both of them over into the water. And the worst of it was she meant it completely as an innocent act. Her hands rested on her thighs sitting on either side of his hips, almost as though she was afraid to touch him anymore than she currently was. She dearly hoped she hadn’t hurt him either with the little stunt. She’d have to be more careful from now on.

Season of Fall, Day 40, 513 AV

Jorin just grinned more when Rinya started retreating before him, taking a step back from him for every step forward he took. "I suppose I move just a little too fast for you in the water. Should I even up the odds?" she teased, as she continued to retreat. He wondered if she realized that she was backing toward the beach, where he would have an advantage over her. All he got from the bond was playful happiness, so he figured she either didn't notice, or didn't care. Or perhaps she had something planned.

Jorin knew if Rinya took off down the beach, he'd overtake her. He was not the swiftest runner, for sure, but quarterstaff fighting trained the legs quite heavily, so he'd have superior endurance. Not that he would have minded losing to Rinya; Jorin figured win or lose, they'd both win. Nonetheless, he still had his pride. Just because it was a silly little game they were playing together didn't mean he wanted to lose.

As Rinya's feet touched dry land Jorin wondered what she'd do next. She had to know she wouldn't get far if she started running down the beach, although the idea of chasing his mate in that fashion had its own charm. But the mischievous twinkle in her eyes told him that she had come up with a different plan. Jorin mentally shrugged. Whatever it was, he was sure he could work with it. He would catch her, figuratively and literally.

But Jorin's eyes went wide with surprise when, as he himself came up out of the surf, Rinya sprang forward and tackled him, her arms wrapping around his neck and their bodies pressed together as they both went down. The contact was so pleasant that Jorin didn't even notice that he'd landed on his butt in the water, although the water was so shallow that it didn't even come up to his knees.

Rinya had sat back up in his lap, which rather disappointed Jorin and he did nothing to hide it. As she pushed her hair from her face, Jorin reached up to help with the act, and placing one hand on her shoulder as her hands went to her thighs as though worried that if she touched him, she wouldn't stop. Jorin couldn't help grinning. He wouldn't mind it if she didn't, even if this was a public place.

"Looks like I caught you." Jorin smiled, shifted his hand from her shoulder to her back and hugged her close to himself.

"Yes, you did, Rinya," he whispered into her ear, stroking her back with his hands. Then he released the hug and smiled at her.

"I guess that means I have to give you whatever you want," he mused, eyes twinkling.

"Command me, my lady!" he cried in his most dramatic voice, as he grinned at her.

"I am yours," he added, in a more serious tone, as he leaned in to kiss her.

Day 40, Season Fall, 513 AV

Rinya hummed lightly as Jorin hugged her close, stroking his hands across her bare skin. It was very tempting to simply stay where she was, curled up against his warmth. But it was also impossible not to shiver as he whispered into her ear. It wouldn’t be long before he probably noticed the effect it had on her. Jorin released her however after only a few moments and smiled in his usual charm.

”I guess that means I have to give you whatever you want,”

Rinya hadn’t thought of it that way. She had only meant to throw him off course—which did work, but really she didn’t think about taking anything for herself. He didn’t seem to think it was a bad idea however, especially when he started his over dramatic voice, claiming she should command him. It seemed like forever since she had seen him like this. Ever since the bond, Jorin seemed to keep his actor self quiet… maybe perhaps because with the bond it really didn’t matter. Then again she was of the firm belief that she would be able to see through it now without such a connection.

”I am yours,”

There was no argument for that really. The pleasant idea that they belonged to each other was also an easy one. But Jorin had more in mind than she originally planned. He leaned forward to kiss her, and Rinya smirked slightly. Her left hand came up, covering his mouth before it could reach hers and she raised an eyebrow at him.

”Jorin… if I get to command you, you don’t get the liberty to just kiss me you know.” If she was going to do this, she may as well do it right. Besides, he was the one who put himself in her power, and she was feeling rather playful today as it was. Releasing his mouth, she leaned forward—making sure her chest did not touch his—and started to lay light kisses across his collarbone. You are not allowed to touch me other than my waist.” Her fingers trailed down his chest, to rest on his stomach where she made small circular paths across his skin.

”Until of course, you can’t handle it anymore… then you may ask for permission.” There was a challenge in her voice, of which one of them would break first. Her, in allowing him to touch her—or him, until he couldn’t take it anymore. Which really could be trouble for both of them. Rinya in general had far less control than Jorin did. And they were in public—even if the beach was deserted of people other than them. Either way, if one of them broke she was sure it was going to be interesting. Rinya decided it was another idea to test out when they were home alone.

Slowly, Rinya laid kisses across his neck from one side to the other, occasionally kissing along his jawline, but always avoiding his mouth. In some ways it was harder for her, she rather enjoyed kissing him. But there was pride on both ends for them—and really Rinya wondered if it was worth it to hold onto her pride. But even with every enticement to give in, Rinya tried something different. After all they both were still learning about each other when it came to desire. She kissed lightly beneath his ear, before she actually let her teeth nip at his skin. Even with all the salt water, he still tasted good and Rinya smiled into his neck.

Season of Fall, Day 40, 513 AV

Jorin felt a twinge of surprise when Rinya's hand halted his kiss in its tracks. Well, that was new. Rinya had never stopped his kisses before, but he understood when she spoke her next words.

"Jorin… if I get to command you, you don’t get the liberty to just kiss me you know," she informed him in a slightly teasing tone. Jorin smiled, nodded, and backed off.

"Yes, my lady," he replied, continuing his little act. "Forgive my impetuousness!"

When Rinya leaned forward to kiss his collarbone, Jorin closed his eyes, leaning his head back and sighing. His hands itched to roam over Rinya's body, that was until she commanded, "You are not allowed to touch me other than my waist."

Jorin smiled, but nonetheless he opened his eyes and let his mouth drop open in half-mock dismay. "Only your waist?" he wailed theatrically. "How cruel! You slay me, my lady! I am slain!"

Nonetheless, Jorin's hands attacked Rinya's waist, even as her own fingers traced down to his stomach. Figuring that anything in the general waist-area was fair game, he decided to place one hand on the small of her back and another on the smooth, silky skin of her stomach. He knew he was bending the rules a bit, but Rinya didn't seem to mind.

"Until of course, you can’t handle it anymore… then you may ask for permission," Rinya challenged him. Jorin looked back up from her waist to her eyes. He always did love a good challenge. A huge grin spread across Jorin's face as he traced small circles around Rinya's bellybutton.

"Challenge accepted, my love," he replied, with a wink. Rinya decided to kiss around his neck and even along his jaw, but not his lips. Jorin shivered a bit at the light touch of her lips. It did feel rather nice, and the added spice of Rinya's conditions added to the allure of the moment. His hands itched to roam further, but Jorin commanded them to stay where they were. He would not be the first to give in.

Then Rinya nibbled at a spot just under his ear and Jorin gasped out her name, eyes widening in surprise and entire body tensing as a surge raced through his body like a shock of electricity. The sudden jolt caused his right hand to slip, going from the small of her back down to her buttocks, and for about a tick Jorin allowed it to roam there before he realized he'd broken her rule.

"It was an accident, my lady!" he protested, voice all innocence but with a grin that was full of mischievousness. After a moment, Jorin's grin transformed, and he gave Rinya his most innocent smile, but he did not move his hand. Technically, he had not been commanded to do so.

Day 40, Season Fall, 513 AV

Jorin’s theatrics made it hard to keep a straight face. The fact he was so accepting of her little game made it all the more enjoyable too. His fingers mimicked hers, tracing circles into her skin, causing her shiver slightly. Apparently it was a weak spot of hers and she didn’t even realize it. But for all her efforts Jorin seemed very well put together, and Rinya had almost pouted that so far her attempts at causing Jorin to come undone wasn’t enough. At least until he reacted to her nipping at his skin.

Rinya hadn’t expected Jorin to be affected so much. With him gasping her name and suddenly slipping his hand to her buttocks, Rinya couldn’t help but moan into his neck. That had worked so much better than she thought. His reaction caused a familiar heat to spread across her skin. Clearing her throat, Rinya shifted on his lap slightly as though she was uncomfortable before grinning at Jorin.

"It was an accident, my lady!"

”An accident huh? Well you still broke the rules Ertihan.” Rinya scolded half heartedly. Reaching down, she removed his hands from her body, shoving them to his side. ”Now you may not touch me at all, and you may not ask permission either.” Rinya gave Jorin a sharp look—which probably fell completely short because she wasn’t cross with him at all. Actually she had figured he would have held out much longer.

Leaning forward again, Rinya wanted to try out her newest discover. She pressed several kisses to his collarbone, before letting her tongue snake out and brush against his skin. He was probably more prepared this time, so she tried to copy him from their first time just to throw him off. She had loved his tongue against her skin, so perhaps he would too? But she couldn’t help herself, and followed up with another nip to his skin.

”You know Jorin…” Rinya murmured against his skin in a conversational tone. ”I can’t imagine how difficult this is for you.”

Season of Fall, Day 40, 513 AV

Rinya's involuntary shiver made Jorin smile. Her bellybutton, it seemed, was a weak spot of hers. He would have to remember that, but for the moment Jorin continued his innocent act as Rinya shifted in his lap.

"An accident huh? Well you still broke the rules Ertihan," she scolded him, although Jorin could easily tell she was not actually upset in the least. In fact, he could feel the tingles of desire across the bond, on top of his own. Nonetheless, Rinya took his hands and moved them to his side.

"Now you may not touch me at all, and you may not ask permission either," Rinya commanded, with a glare that had no heat in it and was completely at odds with the emotions the bond was telling him. Jorin gulped, however. How was he supposed to do this if he couldn't even touch her?

As Rinya leaned forward, Jorin could feel beads of sweat on his back. He really didn't know how much longer he could hold out. Rinya started on his collarbone. They both seemed to favor that area, he noticed. In any case, he leaned his head back and enjoyed the kisses, until all of a sudden her tongue snaked out and his eyes shot open. It was... different, to feel her tongue on his skin. It felt nice, but not as nice as that time she nipped him.

"Rinya..." he murmured, as she continued to alternate kisses and small flicks of her tongue, until she came to that same area behind his ear. And nipped him again. Jorin's his bucked against Rinya's as he felt the surge across his skin. His arms came up automatically, wanting to grab Rinya and press her closer, but he held off- just barely.

"You know Jorin… I can’t imagine how difficult this is for you," she murmured against his skin, and Jorin's strained voice replied, "You have no idea..."

He lasted for maybe another chime. Maybe it was two, he had no idea. In his haze, he somehow vaguely recalled that, in the misty past, Farline had played a similar game with him. It had never progressed to this stage, of course, and she had done it fully dressed, but the conditions and prizes were similar. A kiss in exchange for obedience. But unfortunately, he broke one of Farlines "rules", and not only did not receive the promised kiss, but did not see hide nor hair of Farline for nearly a week.

Jorin knew Rinya was not like Farline, though he still wondered how she would react to him breaking the rules again. But when Rinya nipped him again Jorin lost it. Petch the rules! Besides, the bond told him she hadn't truly been all that upset when his hand had slipped earlier.

Echoing Rinya's own words, Jorin growled out "Petch it!" before his left arm reached around and grabbed her by the waist as he scooted forward, pressing their bodies against each other. His right hand reached to cup her face, lifting it so that he could plant a kiss right on her lips. He knew he was breaking the rules of their game quite completely now. But he could not hold back any longer and he just needed her.

In the back of his mind, Jorin vaguely wondered what her "punishment" for this infraction was going to be. But for the time being he just closed his eyes and enjoyed the feeling of her skin against his, his right hand going from Rinya's cheek to behind her neck, and left tracing small circles in her back as it pressed her closer to him.

Day 40, Season Fall, 513 AV

"You have no idea..."

Rinya was tempted to dispute that claim. She knew entirely how hard it was to hold off. In fact her self control snapped easier than a dry twig in their condo as she remembered it. She wasn’t even able to hold to the rules she set for herself when it came to him… ever since the beginning. He got under her skin like no other. And she couldn’t even complain that she didn’t actually enjoy it. Because now that there were no boundaries, Rinya couldn’t care less. All she wanted to do was learn about her mate—emotionally and physically.

Jorin’s mind seemed to wander slightly though. One moment he was straining against the idea of moving, and the next he almost seemed… reluctant. Rinya was rather sure it wasn’t something she had done, and had to resist the urge to back off of him. Instead she decided to bring his mind back to the present. She nipped his neck again, and the singular move seemed to finally snap Jorin’s control completely. Using the same words from the condo that had broken her own self control, Jorin moved. And belated in the back of her mind she noted—Jorin cursing apparently had an effect on her too.

Rinya didn’t have time to react as Jorin snatched her waist and pulled them flush up against each other. If Jorin hadn’t already lost control, she was positive that one move alone would have done it for her. There was no longer any space between them and Jorin wasted no time in pulling her into a kiss. Instantly Rinya slid her left arm below his right, snaking it around to hold onto his shoulder. Her right hand slipped to his back as well, only her fingers traced his spine.

”About time.” Rinya grumbled against his lips, clearly giving away that she had no intention of “punishing” Jorin for his loss of control. It was what she wanted after all—to know he could lose control over her actions. Though technically Jorin still had the better control of the two of them. She had snapped simply over a heated kiss. Granted… it was a very good kiss. Much like the one that was currently leaving her breathless and heated. Only this time she knew exactly where this could lead them.

The ache was back though; settled low in her belly and Rinya couldn’t help but squirm against him. The kiss was starting to leave her head quite clouded and where they were was becoming less and less important. The whole power struggle had shifted, somehow Jorin had ended up in control and she found she liked it better that way. His need clashing with hers. The hand tracing his spine shifted, latching onto the back of his neck like he was hers.

”Jorin,” Rinya wasn’t sure if it was a plea, or a warning, either way it came out more of a moan than anything. Her knees were beginning to bother her however, and instead of breaking away she leaned back, trying to hint to him that she needed to move and very clearly had no intention of breaking away from him to do it. Why should she? The move would leave him on top of her and she felt that was a perfectly good idea to her.
