Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Sitting around the Shisha pipe.

2nd of fall, 513av.

It was just past midday, a slight cool breeze was blowing through town. Groth walked over to the Knirin Gardens carrying his Shisha Pipe. He found a spot amongst the trees and set up the pipe. He made sure to be in a visible spot as he was to be meeting his friend Croduth.

Using his flint and steel Groth got a coal alight and put on top of the Blue visions tobacco he has placed in the bowl. He inhaled slowly. Slight vibrations passed through him, colours became brighter and a large joyous smile was planted on Groth's face.

He continued to slowly puff in the Shisha, being sure not too breathe too much as it was neither nor place. He sat watching the world work on. He saw people moving about their daily lives. He sat their in this sem-trance meditation state, being aware of what was going on around him. Time stood still for a brief moment for Groth.

In all the Joyousness and all the serenity Groth saw beauty in the world. His gleaming smile brightened ever more so as he took another small puff.

Fall, Day 2, 513 AV
Midday

Because they lay just outside her window, Noha studied the Knirin gardens and the people who picnicked there quite often when the weather allowed. It was a lovely spot - a place she often visited in search of rock specimens - and also a great lot of fun when people-watching. She spied on citizens with her sighting lens: studying their movements and manners, picking up on the subtle changes in mood through stance, emotion and actions. More often than not, it was usually full of blue giants with their women, or Kelvics, and sometimes humans.

From where she sat on her window sill, Noha scanned the grassy knoll until she noticed a curl of smoke. The tiny figure leapt to her feet at the sight, holding her lens tightly to spy out the source of the flame. Much to her relief, she found the source to be confined in an odd glass pipe wielded by...

"Wait a chime... what in the world," Noha breathed to herself when the lens brought into focus the great, hairy back of some creature she had never seen before. It was enormous.

"Wow, that thing is just enormous," she says, talking to herself again. Now with curiosity roused, Noha quickly slid her sighting lens shut and stuffed it into her backpack along with her spoon and climbing claws.

Too impatient for the 'normal' route out of Nia's boarding house - which would take far too long for her little legs anyway - Noha lowered herself to the ground with a length of rope she had purchased just for that purpose. (It is anchored to the leg of her giant-sized bed and dangles down from her window to the ground below.)

As soon as her feet touched the ground, Noha took off toward the gardens in search of the new creature. She had to travel quickly, or they might not be there by the time she arrived. For the little pycon, it could take ten of her own steps to match the stride of a giant man - possibly more.

"Ho! Excuse me!" She shouted as she approached Groth. The grass of the knoll reached almost to her waist, obscuring most of her body. Hopefully he would notice her down there before she had to use her whistle to call for attention.

Sitting around the Shisha pipe.

Postby Groth on October 9th, 2013, 11:24 am

Groth was still sitting there in the park, smoking away on his shisha pipe, still waiting for his friend. He had smoked himself into a laze. He was content where he was. He looked up into the sky, a slight gust of wind blew, leaves had already started dropping from the trees. It was clear that fall had begun.

As he sat there he closed his eyes and contemplated life. He perused through his thoughts of knowledge like books in a library. He took another deep breathe of the shisha pipe, vibrations filling his body. The smoke sprawled through the air after a deep exhale.

Groth was about to take another puff when he heard a call from behind him. It was very faint but he detected it non the less. He turned to see what could have made such a faint sound. In his vision was one of the tiniest creatures he had seen. He was unsure what to make of this thing. As the creature got closer it started to show features similar of a female human. This girl was not human though, she was much too small, and seemed to of a light rose colour. "What marvelous thing is this?" He said softly to himself. "Hello, stranger". He boomed.

Although she had called out to the other, when he turned, Noha was not expecting the deep rumble of a voice that came when he spoke. "Hello stranger," Groth said, loud to her tiny ears. In one hand he held a long pipe with a glass bowl fitted with a bamboo nozzle of some sort. The contraption piqued Noha's curiosity almost as much as the Jamoura did, and she walked around him to study it more closely.

"They call me Noha, beast," she announces with aplomb as she arrives in front of Groth, standing just beside his tall shisha pipe. She cocks her head to study the thing, unused to smoking of tabac, especially in such a bizarre device. It was over four times taller than she - was this thing so huge that a regular pipe would just not do for him? If it was indeed a him and not a her. The pycon found it tricky to tell sometimes between the sexes of other races, especially if they had fur and were as ugly as Groth.

"What are you doing in Riverfall, giant? I have never come across a beast like you. Especially not one who smokes in the Knirin gardens," she says, then takes a hold of his clothing and begins to climb up his body. Tufts of fur act as handholds, and soon she is sitting on the 8ft Jamoura's arm like a little bird perched and ready for flight. "I am a Pycon, have you never met my people before? We are usually quite small, so, considering your stature it wouldn't be strange if you missed us in passing."

2nd of Fall, 513AV

The Knirin Gardens were the first place that Croduth had felt at home since he had arrived in Riverfall. As he walked into the open field, dragging his knuckles across the soft, verdant blades of grass as he went - he spotted his friend just a few bounds away.

Of course, Croduth was still half-asleep, and in absolutely no mood to be bounding or leaping or sprinting or anything but the slow pace he went as he took long, lurching steps - back hunched and mouth grinning.

There, under the rustle of Fall's tumbling leaves, Groth was mumbling to himself and - it seemed - practicing his ventriloquism.

"You are..." The thin looking Jamoura paused for thought as he sat in a comfortable looking spot opposite Croduth, the Shisha sitting between them, obfuscating any indication that Groth was not alone. "You are very strange indeed Groth!" He boomed in laughter, as his thoughts collected themselves all at once.

The Jamoura looked very young and quite thin indeed, when next to the heavy frame of Groth. Croduth thought himself, 'Impressively underwhelming.', especially for one of his kind.

He folded his hands under his chin and looked blankly at Groth's face, jaw droooping as it rest upon his entwined fingers.

Groth examined this tiny thing. She seemed friendly. "They call me Noha, beast," Noha had announced. Noha, a nice simple name, Groth thought to himself. "Well hello Noha, I am Groth," said Groth. "What are you doing in Riverfall, giant? I have never come across a beast like you. Especially not one who smokes in the Knirin gardens," Said Noha. "I am a Jamoura my friend, I come from The Spires. I am a traveller looking to settle down somewhere for the season, Riverfall is a lovely place so I may just settle down here, and as for this garden 'tis such a place of serenity and beauty, the perfect place to smoke a pipe on a nice day,"

Groth smiled as this little creature climbed up onto his shoulder. Groth sat there with crossed legs, trying not to make any big movements in fear of hurting this small creature. "What are you, tiny creature?" Groth said softly. "I am a Pycon, have you never met my people before? We are usually quite small, so, considering your stature it wouldn't be strange if you missed us in passing." said Noha. "A Pycon? Interesting, you're the first I have met in person, my friend." Groth said, ever so softly. "What brings you too Riverfall?

At that moment Groth noticed another large being approaching out of the corner of his eye. It was his friend Croduth. Croduth took a seat opposite Groth. "Croduth, this is Noha, she is a Pycon. Noha this is and old friend of mine, Croduth. We lived near each other in The Spires. We have been travelling companions for a long time." Said Groth. "A puff, my friend?" Groth said, offering the hose pipe of the shisha.

Noha watched, one ear to Groth's words, as a second Jamoura slowly lumbered down the knoll toward them. This one was a bit scrawnier, relative to Groth, and smaller in comparison as well. Though, to the pycon, they both towered over her like the cliffs of Riverfall.

"You are very strange indeed, Groth!" The second Jamoura laughed as he took a seat in the grass. Noha repelled down Groth's shoulder and chest, then rushed over to the other beast just as Groth introduced her. She paused in front of Croduth beside the Shisha pipe, standing arms akimbo, looking quite statuesque in the grass.

"Croduth, this is Noha, she is a Pycon," Groth rumbled in response to his friend's greeting. "Noha this is and old friend of mine, Croduth. We lived near each other in The Spires. We have been travelling companions for a long time."

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Croduth," Noha said after Groth offered his friend a puff on the pipe. The Pycon, never one to be left out, looked up at Groth, walking around the other side of the pipe's bowl.

"My I try?" She asks.

Fall, Day 2, 513AV: Midday.

[b]"Croduth, this is Noha, she is a Pycon." Groth said, though Croduth had not yet noticed the 'Pycon' he spoke of. "Noha this is an old friend of mine, Croduth. We lived near each other in The Spires. We have been travelling companions for a long time." Croduth thought it was best to simply nod and smile for now.

"A puff, my friend?" Groth said, as his massive fist passed the serpent-like hose towards Croduth - wisps of smoking licking the air near the pipe's tip.

Croduth did not put much thought at all into what Tabac may lay in the bowl of this strange looking contraption, nor what effects that Tabac might have on his mind. Quickly, with a grateful smile bearing across his face; the slight looking Jamora wrapped thin, leathery fingers around the end of the hose. Sipping gently from this serpent at first, then grateful gulps of the the thick, sweet smoke billowed down Croduth's throat.

The effects were immediate, suddenly - his perspective lay not behind the orbs of flesh that were socketed into his skull but - above the observer himself. Frozen in time for just that moment, his perception suddenly acutely tuned to the highest frequency, he was looking down as if he were in some dream at every minute detail. Blades of grass danced with the wind as they exalted the light of Syna and her warmth on this idyllic day in Fall.

He saw a tiny woman made of stone, who at first he thought to be some apparition of his mind. Croduth focused intently on her as she repelled down the other Jamoura's chest and stomach, dextrously vaulting from Groth's massive figure, into the sea of grass. The blades rising and falling as the wind strummed them and Syna lavishly lit their deep, soft green with a warm gold glow. These blades rose and fell around the hips of Noha's animated stone figure - caressing the pink, silken dress that it seemed she wore. Though; Noha paid these clamouring grass strands no mind as she quickly strode through them, to stand beside the comparably larger Shisha pipe.

As his mind quickly lowered closer and closer to his body, he could hear the tiny, female figure sing out - "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Croduth."

Again, he rested comfortably behind the fleshy orbs that sat socketed in his skull. With his head back in his skull, Croduth managed to string a sentence together in reply to the Pyon.

"You, it is a pleasure meeting too!" He said, rather loudly.

Nodding enthusiastically, he let the shisha pipe fall from his hand and swing, falling slack in the grass beside Noha.

"May I try?" She asked.

Croduth burst into laughter, accidentally snarling and whooping because of his excitement at the coincidence.

"It is there already-" he gestured towards the pipe on the ground, "-you may as well smoke it!"

"This.." Croduth stated, with a blank face and an eyebrow cocked (pausing to emphasise the subject as older Jamoura tended to), "Is what?" As he tapped the bowl of the Shisha - enquiring about the nature of the Tabac that he had experienced.

"May I try?" Noha Asked.

Groth gave a beaming smile. He was more than happy to share with other people. Croduth seemed to find this quite amusing. Just as Groth was about to answer Noha, Croduth chimed in.

"it is there already, you may as well smoke it" he said gesturing towards the mouth piece on the ground. Groth gave off a little chuckle. "Yes, please indulge, my friend." Groth said in his low booming voice.

Groth sat there in a state of haze due to the smoke. He noticed it had hit Croduth pretty hard as well.

"This, is what?" Croduth said, slightly tapping on the bowl in a state of haze.

'It is Blue Vision tobacco, my friend." Groth said, giving a little chuckle as too how noticeable the affects had taken hold of his friend. "A rather enlightening smoke, would you agree?
