Lea Deveraux Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 20 years Birthday: 82nd of Fall, 494 AV Birthplace: Syliras Appearance: In appearance, Lea is the 'black sheep' of her siblings. While the other two are dark-haired and brown-eyed as well as tall and well-built, Lea sticks out like a sore thumb. In the place of the beautiful, thick, shining hair her brother and sister have, Lea's is a bright reddish-orange reminiscent of an Inarta's. She is a petite little thing, only standing at 5'1 and weighing barely 113 pounds. Her muscles are undefined but still there due to having to lift pots and pans while cooking. Where her siblings have wise chocolate-colored eyes, Lea's are a vibrant blue that denote innocence and ignorance. Her voice is deeper than one would suspect, hovering around the mezzo-soprano range and carrying well. (Think Samantha Barks.) She can't sing like her sister can, though. In fact, she hasn't really ever tried. She prefers to keep to herself and cook. Character Concept Lea is, at first glance, a shy young woman who hides behind her family and tries to go unnoticed. However, when one delves deeper into her life they would find that her motto is 'actions speak louder than words'. She is not timid at all, merely quiet and observant and in arguments between her siblings, Lea plays the mediator. Character History It wasn't that Lea's mother didn't like children. She just had issues with pregnancy. It took five years after the birth of her brother that she and Katerina were brought into the world. Twins were unusual, and quite taxing on the mother. It wasn't unusual for her to be exhausted and grumpy when their father came home from hunting. Being the (mostly) obedient child, Lea was the least amount of trouble for her parents. However, her passion for astronomy and navigation led her to climb on top of roofs in Syliras in order to get a better look at the stars. Her mother, disapproving such actions, taught her to cook as a way to keep her from scaling walls and rooftops. In turn, the siblings' father took Nathaniel on hunting trips and their mother also taught Katerina to sing. The hunting accident in the spring of 505 AV that claimed her father's life changed Lea. As their mother's health slowly declined, the twelve year-old found herself cooking more out of necessity rather than as a hobby. She had less time to climb on the roofs of Syliras, but did so when possible. Soon after the twins' birthday their mother caught pneumonia. By the time it was winter, she had been carried away in the arms of Dira. Lea clung to her brother for a long time, frightened by the harsh world around her. Sometimes she would wander the streets of Syliras for bells on end, always ending up at the Great Bazaar. On one such occasion she had very nearly missed a leather-bound book. Picking it up, Lea found it was a book on navigating by the stars... The girl had immediately run home. The book is her most treasured possession.
